So I've noticed the upcoming batmam piece has an estimated weight of 30 lbs. It seems like it will be one of the heavier pieces I will be owning. Most shelves from ikea without extra support aren't made to hold that much weight

I was wondering what the heaviest pieces other people own and how they display them.

I think this will be helpful for all the newer collectors on the board especially with sideshows growing trend of larger and heavier pieces.

I have custom built shelving made of metal frame and wood base. However they are 3 meters long so I hope they will hold all the pf weight.

Hmmm... The heaviest pieces I have is the Scout trooper with bike PF.

The Lady Death PF base is crazy heavy. It looks, feels and weighs as much as a boulder. I can barely lift the base alone. I just display her on the bottom shelf in one of my custom shelves.

The Besta from IKEA holds approx 65lbs a shelf. I wouldn't tempt fate and put that much on it of course but its safe to say that 30lbs would be a breeze for it.

The Heaviest piece I own in my Collection is the Green HULK PF that thing comes in at a whooping 50 dense pounds I put him on the top of the Besta which usually holds more do to the fact that the top shelf is thicker and more sturdy

Wow I was just watching some youtube videos and found out the original Sideshow Hulk PF is 38.4 pounds(courtesy of statuehunter75). Guess 30 lbs doesn't seem unreasonable but its sounds ok. PAX shelves without extra supports aren't meant to hold that much though.

Arthas.

Dat sum----- weights a ton.

Dispalyed @ the bottom of a Besta.
He so thick and wide he occupies a besta slot all on his own.

I don't get why companies are doing the whole heavy base light statue thing. Think we look at it as"sturdy" if the base is heavy or something? I don't get it. I'd rather have a filled statue myself. ARH medusa comes to mind when I say this.

I think my heaviest piece would be the Berserker Predator Bust. I think it weighs about 70 lbs. I have him displayed up on a large pedestal.

probably the rulk comiquette or colossus pf

currently I have an ikea bookshelf turned on its side with table legs attached to the bottom for some pieces (colossus) and others are on a wall mounted shelf I bought at lowes (rulk). the shelf has lower arch supports that mount to studs so its pretty dang sturdy

One plus side to a really heavy base is it's not going to get knocked over easy especially if you live in an earthquake zone.

The hulk maquette said 50lbs. for the longest time under the specs. and it shipped at 21 lbs. They will lighten it up when it goes to production. That seems to be their MO now.

My heaviest is the Thing PF 40lbs.

I've been putting the finishing touches on my display room so have been shifting my statues around quite a bit, and the pred cinemaquette is friggin heavy! though it doesn't help the box being so big and awkward. Wolf LSF is no lightweight either. Though surprisingly my biggest statues (1:2 hulk & hulkbuster) are relatively light!
Personally I prefer statues to be lighter (though still strong) as moving them is a lot easier and so damage is less likely, polystone reinforced with fiberglass is my favourite as it's mega strong but very light.
I have industrial racking to display some of my statues which is rated at 900kg per shelf! so more than enough. Cinemaquettes are great as the boxes make great display pedestals :)

Now it's the grey Hulk, don't know if it's intended like this but he has 2 lbs more than the green one.

:hilarious: Same here. When I first tried to get it out of the packaging I thought it was stuck somewhere and got frustrated a bit. Then I realized it's just heavy as ufck.

My Grey hulk is about 50lb. And my Black and White Spider-man, I think they called Negative zone or something like that is also heavy.
