Vader Mythos touch up WIP

so, now here is the Vader Mythos statue. its finish was flat all over just as the Darth maul one was.
certain things on the suit should have had a sheen to them such as the gloves, leather suit, boots, armor (shoulder and greaves) belt, chest box and the cod piece.
so i started with just the saber arm to see how it work out for this statue.
now i applied the wax a bit differently this time. instead of brushing it on like i did with Maul and then wiping it off with a paper towel. i put it on the paper towel and let the towel absorb the wax and then i wiped it on lightly to only cover the raised surfaces so that i wouldn't fill all the low-lying areas with the wax. and i actually did it a couple of times wiping the excess off to get the look i wanted just right.
now if anyone of you want to do this. just make sure your careful with the paper towel when wiping because it will break down due to the wax getting it wet and you may get a tiny piece here and there on the surface. im going to use an old t-shirt for the rest to prevent that from happening. dont want little pieces of pt getting stuck on the statue.
but i think it turned out decent so far and looks pretty damn good. so i will continue and will update the progress i make.

Ok finished him up. my old eyes aren't what they use to be. :dork:
so i gave all the leather parts and armor and chest box a nice sheen. i also painted the lights on the chest box and corrected the colors of the switches to match the ROTS chest box. seems how Igo said this is a rendition of Vader between ROTS and ANH. i figured i would go with the ROTS chest box color scheme. and as you will see i painted his lenses and amber color (or as close as i could get it, more like a dark rusty red) like they were in ANH. plus with the helmet representing that versions of the helmet. the lenses had to be done this way. i also gave them a good dose of polish so they would shine up nicely. i even gave the face mask a bit of sheen as well. but not too much. very little.
and keep in kind the light source is making the sheen a lot glossier than what it really is.
im no professional painter as you can see...lol
you'll notice also that some of his lights that are green are bright green and then they have a light orange dry brush to accent them to match the lava glow paint scheme.
i was thinking though. they might look good bright green with no orange accent to represent them being lit up. i like them both ways actually..lol
well either way im happy with the results.. hope you guys can dig it. :)

Guess I cant really tell what you did there It looks a little glossy but I dont have the statue so I cant really see the difference. Why use just a wax? What type of wax is that you used? Why not just use a clear coat gloss?

here is a comparison shot of how the mythos Vader comes from the factory. got this image from reblescum.com. as you can see everything about his leather parts were flat. and the eyes were black and the chest box didn't have the correct color scheme.
i used the floor polish because a lot of professional painters used it. i had a painter send me some with a projects i had him do for me and i had it kicking around so i decided to use it rather than going out and buying a clear coat gloss. plus im not a professional myself and i didn't know how that would work compared to the acrylic floor polish. which worked out pretty good.

I see it now. It does look rather odd that his helmet is so glossy yet nothing else is. Since he is battle damaged and presumably dirty I can see it not having the gloss on the leather but his chest armor should still have gloss and his eyes too. Looks good though thanks for the heads up on the polish.

yeah no problem man. but its more subtle in person. it really isn't all that glossy. its my back light i was using to take the shots with.
ill see if i can take some with a more natural lighting source.
