It's still very slow but they updated the shipping dates and also added pictures of the Alien.

They addressed the silicone head but not many details:

Q:Is the silicon head on my T-850 going to deteriorate? What’s the deal with this weird powder that came with my Cinemaquette? What if his hair gets messed up in shipping?
A: We’d like to take a moment to answer some questions that have come up about our T-850 Cinemaquette and hopefully put to rest any concerns you might have about the quality and durability of the product.

Some customers have questioned the long-term durability of the silicon head. In point of fact, silicon has an incredible lifespan, maintaining its integrity and coherence for decades. The head is not merely covered with a silicon skin, but is in fact entirely composed of silicon, for better durability and overall quality. In addition, the paint that is used on the skin is also silicon-based (unlike other paints applied to latex, which has a very short shelf life) and should maintain its appearance for many years to come if stored in a dry place.

In terms of the hassle of dealing with the powder, we only included that as a last resort. Although we recommend against handling the face of the T-850 overmuch, we realize that it’s just human nature that collectors will want to touch the Cinemaquette’s head, and over a long period of time, if too much oil from human skin gets on the silicon, the face could appear shiny. The colorless powder is merely to prevent the shiny gloss, should it become necessary in years to come, and retain the proper matte finish. It should also be noted that if the silicon face gets dirty due to pollutants in the air or human skin oil, it can be cleaned with a Q-tip and a small amount of rubbing alcohol. The silicon skin may get shiny after the alcohol cleaning, but a simple, light dab of the powder will return it to its natural look.

As for the hair, each piece is individually hand-punched and no two are alike. The hairstyle of each Cinemaquette has been styled before packing, but we cannot guarantee that it will arrive exactly the same way, due to the vagaries of shipping. The hair can be styled by the consumer with a simple toothbrush. Additional instructions for care of the Cinemaquette’s hairstyle will be posted here on the site as necessary.

YEAH! Can't wait for the T-800 Endo. Thank for news Gruson!

That Alien looks nice. Let's hope he's not made of silicon.

Looks like this might be my first purchase with them. T3 wasn't my favorite, so the TX and T-850 aren't high on my list. I prefer the clean T-800 like they were in the movies, so that statue doesn't appeal to me much. Maybe I'm just trying to talk myself into paying so much for a collectible.

The Alien should be a BIG guy too....30"?

Gruson

Yeah, Alien will be huge (27" without base) but will cost around $1800. His head will be huge...however, I cannot see spending $1800 on it.

I liked their response on the T-850's hair:
"As for the hair, each piece is individually hand-punched and no two are alike."

Sorry P1. ;)

Halleluiah!!!!! They updated their site. Still no detailed answer to the Silicon, tough. But that's better than nothing.

That part scarys me!

It's my favorite piece in my collection for sure. I just hope I get more than 5 years out of him. ;)

I know, but then you won't have any 1/3 scale Terminator. ;)

The first Terminator movie will always be my favorite, so if Cinemaquette had made an Arnold from that movie, I couldn't resist.

The T-800 is a must-buy for me, and the Alien also looks very tempting. I wonder how CM's Predator will compare to SideShows Pred? Mask or no mask?
I have SS's Exc. Pred preordered, but I may cancel if CM can top them.

Yes, That would be my first choice also, hands down. And would be a much younger, stronger looking Arnie also. And he would also get older with time. Maybe after 5 years he would look like a T3 Arnie. :)

Yes, I believe they probably can top SS one(difficult job, tough)... but at what price? Probably twice the price

Aren't Aliens supposed to be around 8 feet tall? If it's 27 inches tall at 1/3 scale, that would make it only 6'9". :inquisiti

The mask is a big reason why I ordered the SS one. If CM's doesn't have the option of the mask, I might have to pass.

Detroit, that number was just given to me over the phone from Scott...he was not 100% sure though.

I believe the original Alien is right at 7 feet.

DetroitSportsFan

I hope Scott was wrong. At 8 feet, a 1/3 Alien should be 32" tall.
We shall see. :)

LOL...I knew you would!!

I would call Scott and have him pick you out a good Arnold since the hair/eyebrows have been different on all of them.

Good luck!

LOL, yeah G, I also knew I would end up ordering this thing.
I emailed them and asked them to get me a nice one since I was going to post a lot of pictures and wanted to do their product justice. :thumbs2:
Let's wait, hope Soctt will get me a nice Arnie.
On a side note, I'm thinking to sell pretty much all my smaller statues(anything smaller than 1/4 scale will go). The only thing I would keep that are smaller in scale than 1/4 it's my Attakus Jabba scene and Vader 1(this one will go to the grave with me!) and some other things.. Boba, Maul, Stormtrooper, Chewie etc may have to go. Even tough I LOVE those, they are starting to look a little dwarfed by my bigger statues in my movie display room. I will see. The good thing is that If I sell those statues I will have a nice $$$ to buy even more bigger pieces. ;)

Gruson
08-15-2005, 03:02 PM
haha Cap,

As you know, I did the same thing. No more small pieces for me anymore. I even parted with my Attakus Star Wars pieces, which was very tough to do but hopefully Sideshow will continue to release more of them.

The only pieces I have left smaller than 1/4 scale are 3 LOTR horse and rider statues. They will most likely be sold soon, once more 1/4 pieces have shipped.

Good luck, I imagine you have a lot to sell!

cap70
08-15-2005, 03:12 PM
Some of the Attakus will be hard to part with in case I decide to sell. I will see. Vader 1 and the Jabba scene are my favorite pieces in my whole collection, so those are not going for sale, never ever. :)
Thinking to get the CM TX right now, damn you P1X!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, I REALLY hope they will do SW. For sure I 'll buy the item! I would love to see a Vader or Luke or Obi-wan with a lightsaber with light effect, i.e. with sth like a neon or full led blade (not like SS did: plastic colored tube with a small lamp in the hand: Kenner knew this already  ). Still, SS SW stuff = pretty good!

I am planning to get it too finnally, but I am waiting for your comments too before decinding sth.

Actually, no T-X for me. I ordered it but then cancelled it.

While I think it looks incredible, I could not justify spending $1000 for a statue of a character I only kind of like. Then another $150 for the case....just too much money right now.

Sorry!

P1 can post some pics of his. It's very nice.

I saw P1 pictureas as well as those from THX217. But how funny, I have come to the same conclusion as you do now. Still, I am definately going to take the T-800: I like it and really like it. I wander why they did not make an Arnie from T1, I think it is the best Arnie to remember from the T saga. Moreover, we could have had a T1, T2 and T3 piece (sigh)

Nothing specific but they *may* take orders in late September and then ship the T-800 in November.

My guess is Decemember though.
