Thanks all! It was a great opportunity to be able to move past Superman as tied to a certain comic book or story line or specific artist's work, or the newest incarnation. I wanted to try and make him more of a symbolic figure, more of an art piece. It seems that DC's current product philosophy is so centered on its publications that is doesn't see past that. I was saying to a friend the other day, my last line for DC Direct, DC Dynamics, could not and would not be done today because, in part, its an independent take the characters historically, and not topically.

It's a piece like this that makes me lament even more your parting ways with DC yet it also gives me a glimpse into why you may have outgrown that partnership. I love DC and many of the products that they have created over the years, but they seem to be beholden to capitalizing on the trendiest artists and new costumes in a way that seems, oddly enough, visionarily limited. DC Dynamics was such a bold take on not just those characters, but on the collectible statue market in general and in my opinion, were some of the very best that any company has ever offered. Anyhow, so glad to see another awesome superman come from your hands. This is phenomenal :)

This is why you're my favorite sculptor in the business. I'm just disappointed this won't be mass-produced.

Hey Tim... awesome work as usual.

I have a question regarding the so-called "engineering" part. I assumed that there would be a peg going in from the statue into the base rather than just gluing the two together flat. The base seems transparent. How did you attach the statue to the base? Which is the sturdy way to go in general?

Thanks in advance. God bless you :)
