Please post images of what characters you'd like to see. Also,please feel free to start polls, whatever helps us understand what you guys want the most.
I personally want (obviously) approach the Trinity, but I love characters like Lobo, Red hood, Cyborg, 52 Joker, and classic characters all around.

Just for the record, we want to create a 1/6th line with as many characters be it A, B, C, D, listers.
However we know people love different versions of Batman and Superman, so we will give you a separate line(s) in 1/6th with different versions, like Elseworlds versions, Dark Knight Returns, versions inspired by different artists, etc.
I believe the best way to explore if you guys like a character is by checking out our 1/6th bust line, that might give you a better idea of what the 1/6th full size version could look like.

As for the 1/5th scale figures we are thinking more iconic/semi action perhaps? , museum poses, with amazing textures and details.

Listen, we can produce anything, we are not expecting to sell 200 Superboy Primes, but if we can sell 50 we are cool to go.
So maybe in the near future we will do pre-sales to get a better idea of what characters will do 1)ok, 2)well, and 3)great.

As others have stated, Wonder Woman is definitely up on the list. I feel like most sculptors focus on portraying her strength, often losing the beauty and elegance associated with the character in the process. Using Stanley Lau's illustrations as well as the Mythos-type work built2shred mentioned would be ideal.

Red Hood would be killer, having him stand with his guns drawn but have his elbows bent so his guns are pointing up (maybe with some smoke effect coming out of the barrel) and then have Batmans cowl sitting off to the side with bullet holes in it (like he was using it for target practice)...

Play on the story of how he blames Batman for the Joker killing him and not revenging his death.

Aquaman on Throne is a cool idea, although I also like the idea of an Aquaman and Mera riding on a couple of giant Atlantean seahorses.


Just make a prolific line of statues and bust representative of the DCU and the buyers will come. I could never get into DCD's lines and have sold every piece I ever bought. I'm also not a huge fan of pieces based on overly stylized art, unless it's for certain specials. I prefer a more unified line that captures the iconic characters. I guess someone like Benes or Lee would be good in that regard. Anyway, if this line churns out the pieces, that sucking sound you'll hear will be a good chunk of my collecting dollars leaving Bowen and Sideshow and heading to Prototypez.

Right now the idea of a consistent Trinity (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman) has me the most excited.

Since these are kits and I'm not a professional painter and I still have a bunch of kits waiting to be painted I probably can't get too many. But with other DC stuff, I would love to see Prototypez do an Ed Benes female hero. Black Canary would drive many painters crazy I would guess with her fishnets. Also, how about Caitlin Fairchild from Gen 13? Not many good statues of her out there.

Aquaman on Throne is a cool idea, although I also like the idea of an Aquaman and Mera riding on a couple of giant Atlantean seahorses.


Just make a prolific line of statues and bust representative of the DCU and the buyers will come. I could never get into DCD's lines and have sold every piece I ever bought. I'm also not a huge fan of pieces based on overly stylized art, unless it's for certain specials. I prefer a more unified line that captures the iconic characters. I guess someone like Benes or Lee would be good in that regard. Anyway, if this line churns out the pieces, that sucking sound you'll hear will be a good chunk of my collecting dollars leaving Bowen and Sideshow and heading to Prototypez.
I agree with you Morgan, we will make these very cohesive, and yes we will churn out as many as the collecting community allows.

Right now the idea of a consistent Trinity (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman) has me the most excited.

Since these are kits and I'm not a professional painter and I still have a bunch of kits waiting to be painted I probably can't get too many. But with other DC stuff, I would love to see Prototypez do an Ed Benes female hero. Black Canary would drive many painters crazy I would guess with her fishnets. I like the vision they had for that custom, but I'm sure the execution could be done better. You are spot on mentioning the spinning hammer Thor as an example. Something along the lines of that would be epic! It's just hard for Prototypez to produce something like this because, being that they sell kits, I think the translucent resin would be unpainted and painting it from the outside wouldn't work...so not sure it's possible...?

Not sure about the bases on the busts. I'm more of a fan of the plain bases on busts. Base could take away from the sculpt. If your doing Superboy with the jacket i may have to pick that one up.

Yeah sort of agree. they could be more interesting (Tim Bruckner's recent supes commision had one of the best bases I've seen in a long time) but understand if you are not planning on going over on that part of the sculpt and concentrating your efforts on the character itself. Was thinking you could make the bases fit in with the characters e.g. rivets on Steel's, Half mechanic for Cyborg Supes but then I'm not sure what you could do for the other two. Sure there are some cool ideas if you look into it.

Maybe if they were a little smaller in comparison to the busts themselves it would look a lot better.

And maybe you could make the S (front or back) like this :

Pleas do Cyborg supes as a full 1/6th scale though! And preferrably one that can have an alternate pose / arm with rings on the hand to fit in with the blackest night storyline.

I like themed bases for teams, but prefer them to be more subtle. This S base might overwhelm the bust design. But would love to see something like this for the rest of the Superman family (Superman, Supergirl, Lois, etc.) and maybe a "Z" base for Zod. A similar theme for the Batman family, Lanterns, Flash, Justice League, Legion of Doom, JSA, Titans and dare I say LSH. Personally I think cranking out busts would be a great solution for Prototypez to jump start and quickly build up the DC line--inexpensive, space friendly, diverse, highly collectible, etc. That's really what powered the Bowen line in the early years. There are probably a couple of dozen full size DC characters interested in, but I could easily think of 70-80 DC busts.

On the topic of busts, have you considered doing the Green Lantern universe? I thought DC was onto something special when they started creating busts of the various corps. Sadly, they stopped the line when it was getting interesting - like they typically do!

So many characters yet to be made! Raging Red Lanterns, frightful Yellow Lanterns, and of course heroic Green Lanterns.
