Hi all,

Given that this section of the forum has had an overhaul, I think it's time I re-introduced this piece of mine that I worked on. Sculpted by myself, and I'm now in the process of painting the resin cast.

Based on this reference:

Thanks guys! I have a couple of paint wips, but am a bit shy to put them up given that it ain't as pretty as the pros lol. I'll post soon though, it's taking shape now.

I'm eager to add her to my display, and I'm glad I sculpted and made her for myself as I wasn't sure any company would make her :p

Face still needs to be worked on, and to clean up the lines abit. Hit a little roadblock as what I was using as masking putty decided to pull off some paint underneath it... so I'll have to patch it up before proceeding

Very nice job! I really like the sabre, looks wicked. Looking forward to seeing the finished paint up.

Thank you JamieMac! I'm still thinking of a way to achieve the nice effect on the sabre etch lines. It's a tough one! It bothered me during sculpting and it's still bothering me now! Lol

You could try lightly dry brushing over the etched lines. Building it up gradually with thin layers. Or even using something like a make-up sponge, being that they're really fine porous, and dab the paint on them that way.
Just an idea :)

Thanks Jamie! I was considering the dry brushing method after I put down a base grey coat. Might try the sponge way if it doesn't work :)

Also, thanks Roberto! :)

You could also do a light wash building up layers and wiping away the extra.

Cheers! It was actually custom milled for me by a prop builder, so I can't take credit for that particular element of the piece. It is rather stunning work! :)

Thanks aliseo85!

It's all going pretty good. I'm having a little bit of difficulty with achieving a nice blush effect on the cheeks, but am taking it relatively patiently..

Here's an image of the completed piece getting a final coat of sealer. More pics to come

The wall behind was painted by me as well. It's of the silhouettes of the Fellowship of the Ring
