Big Dave recently posted about 1/6 painters & I came across these pics.
Can anyone here paint eyes that look this real?
(this is from a Japanese site)

Hi:
Although there are a few mortals who have the skill to paint eyes that well, the possibilty exists that they were silkscreened during manufacturing.
Best Wishes,
Curt

True Curt, they ain't human. Here's an Orc plaque Rick did. Talk about eyes! And as Rick pointed out when he first posted this pic, those eyes are painted, not glass!!!!

Hey Zurb:
No, I haven't seen this image before. Those eyes look EXACTLY like they were fabricated from glass!! It's stuff like this that blows me away! Rick, if you're hovering around somewhere on this site, know that you've got another fan on your roster! Thanks for showing this to me.
Best Wishes,
Curt

Hi Rick:
Your welcome! It's important to recognize excellence when you find it. Too many times we fritter away our energies on trying to fix what's wrong, and in the process, sometimes forget to pay our respects to those who are achieving great things in quiet ways.
At the prompting of Zurbaban1 I checked-out your website and loved the depth, scale-appropriate finish and muted richness of your palette. In a word: superb!
Best Wishes,
Curt

Curt - Thank you so much. Coming from one of your talents it is high praise indeed! I was wandering around your site, and your work is incredible. Who did you do the Dragon for?

Those eyes are so life like my first impression was that they were glass. Excellent as always Rick.

Hi Rick:
The dragon was designed and sculpted by me for the Franklin Mint back in 1998. It's wingspan is approximately 8 inches long. It was supposed to be a part of a projected Michael Whelan line called "Dragons of the Millenium". Unfortunately, it was never put into production.

Curt i'd love to see the Cybernetic Female Warrior painted up. Although i do like the blue appearance. Will you produce this as a kit.

Hi Bullseye:
Universal Studios owns the rights to the "Cybernetic Female Warrior", so I cannot sell it as a model kit. However, my contract does allow me to represent this work in my portfolio and in promotional materials. What you see is the primered prototype, before being handed off to the mold-maker.
I've a bunch of other projects on the boards right now - one of which I just received a trademark and patent pending status on - that will be a lot more interesting than this young lady and in whom I own the full rights.
As always, I appeciate the interest. Take care.
Best Wishes,
Curt

Bulls, LOL. That's Rick's friend Karl. He posts here as well. Rick did the paintmaster on the Keeper of Time piece. It is an awesome piece. I just ordered one the other day.

That one on the Tower is mindblowing. What a great piece. Is the kit expensive?
Zurbaran1
08-21-2005, 12:55 PM
It's not a kit! It's a pre-paint. And as Karl and Rick will tell you, the factory paint job on it is as close to Rick's paint job as you are likely to see. A great piece. It's $200. I can't wait to get mine. Should be here soon.

Hi Bullseye:
If you're speaking of either the dragon or the girl: the answer is, alas, no.
I've a whole slate of goodies that I'l share with the rest of you in due time. But for now, the workbench beckons . . . .

Hi Zurb:
I'm good for only a few things in this life: amongst them, my work ethic and my word. Now only if I can figure out how the Hell to insert images onto my postings on this site . . . .
