I believe that was version one. The finished product wont be so neon. Great sculpt though..and great character! We need more Savage Dragon fans here!

I think it's a nice sculpt, but I hope that there would be a clothed variant. I really don't like sculpts that try too hard to make a statue sexy.

Can't see BD producing a She-Hulk like this. More cloths would make this more sexy if thats what they are looking for.

I like the She Dragon this way she is totaly sexy. I do not hope they put close on her.

Maybe a variant with close as long as they keep the thong one.

How many of you are familiar with the CHARACTER of She-Dragon, and not just judging the sculpt? Any Savage Dragon loyalists here?

I'm familiar with the character though I wouldn't call myself a loyalist. I don't think the statue, with the real head anyway, doesn't look much like Larsen's drawings. It looks like a generic woman. A generic green woman with a mohaw, but generic still.

I'd have prefered the long hair version myself anyway.

I can count on one hand (and still have fingers left over) how many SD issues I've flipped through. Other than seeing her on a couple of covers, no familiarity whatsoever with the character.

But I do plan on buying both versions of the statue!

The She-Dragon piece is set to ship in April, 2006. No more than 1,200 of the long haired sculpt will be issued. Production may be rounded off to 1,500.

Mohawk version will be around 200 to 250 units produced.

I checked on the online store I get my comic items from and you are right. The regular non-mohawk version is up but doesn't show with the usual price as these type of items usually do. It looks like an error.

Discount price shows as $135.93 so I assume $150 will be around the regular asking price.

Okay. There is an eBay auction for the She-Dragon for $139.99. If this statue hasn't been solicited yet, how does American Icons Collectibles know how much to charge?

I haven't seen the previews yet, but I thought another thread only mentioned the regular version. Not the Mohawk. The Mohawk version was going to be an artist proof edition if I remember right.

I'm ordering both whenever they become available!

SolidLiquidFox
02-19-2006, 10:36 AM
The regular has been available at a few places. It is still not concrete if orders will be honored. They may be cancelled and both versions may be offered at the same time in the next previews (or the following one...who knows)

I talked to Clay about this guys and apparently it will be resolicited next month. I would guess that any orders placed wouldn't be honored, but can't say for certain. The ad wasn't ready on time so Diamond was told to hold the solicitation for a month. But apparently they failed to remove it from the order form. It should be in the new previews along with some type of advertisement fo it. The piece has been in China for awhile so I wouldn't expect any other kind of delays, this was just a marketing glitch of some kind.
