I know there has been plenty of discussion about risers for busts, but does anyone have suggestions about something for FS statues? I just got a really nice showcase, and it's deep enough to put 2 FS pieces in a row, but I need something to make it easier to see the rear pieces (Colossus, Storm, and Nightcrawler in this instance). I was thinking about the clear top of a holder for those mini Footbal helmets.

Any suggestons?

Galactus,
It just so happens that I was making plans tonight on making my own.
I gotta buy some plexiglass and have some old glass cut this month.
I got 1/4" glass that will have some left over pieces after having some shelves cut. I'm going to have a few different size pieces cut to make risers.
One might go the entire lenghth of the shelf. I'm having 3 pieces cut 5"x38" and 3 or 4 cut 4 1/2"x5". Then I'll use silicone to glue them together with 1 or 2 in the middle for extra support.

Beauty of a display case, but I tend to prefer the all glass ones. Here is a nice online site for all things display. A little expensive for my tastes but good resource for ideas. They also have some great looking tower display and trophy cases.

Bullseye, that was originally a retail display case for Baccarat crystal. It's an awesome case.

Thanks for the comments (CK and Zurb will be DEALT with later...)

To answer questions:

I got this from a Jewelery store here in Brooklyn which was selling it since they no longer needed it. The manufacturer is Baker, and as Zurb pointed out, it was used for Baccarat Crystal (hence the name on the top). The seller said it originally cost between $2500 and $3000 when they got it 3 years ago, but I picked up up for $500 with FREE delivery (meaning I dragged Zurb and his mini-van down to Brooklyn to help, even got him to toss in $250 of the $500, what a great guy).
The dimensions are 80 high, 48 wide and 20 deep. The interior height is 68 inches, there are 4 lights built into the top, a mirrored bottom, 4 addition 1/2 inch thick glass shelves, and a lock on the glass doors (for when any of the NYC Mafia come over).
All in all it's a really nice piece and I will be sure to post a pic of it when it's full.

 So don't put anything on those bottom two shelves. Those are mine. Or I can take the top two if the reaching thing is a real problem.

Is that to solve the "bringing packages home" problem, by displaying stuff in someone elses house??

Well, that would certainly make it easier. But I pretty much have got the bringing stuff home, sneaking it past the statue police thing, down pat. I could probably write the book at this point.

It is indeed a nice case Galactus (like nobody mentioned that already), but I hate doors at the front, I find it looks ugly and it usually is hard to close as well against dust like a door at the side. Still a nice catch for that kind of money though. Money well spend.

I have a display case more like the 1 Bullseye mentioned (H80", W30", D15"), but I wouldn't quite dare putting a statue on any shelf other than the bottom one, let alone a whole bunch. Can't believe myself how some people have awesome collections, but not a good display/showcase to put everything in. But that's just me.

One again, very nice find.

The posted cabinets are all very impressive and huge! I must admit the wood or metal framework make them look even better.

Man I was at galactu's house and case is unbelieveable. First it had lights already installed. Second the damn thing has wheels already on them. That makes it easy to move. THird the wheels has it's own break mechanism so that the case does not move by accident.

G, that new cabinet is fantastic!!!
It is a collector's item itself.

I wonder how old that thing is? Probably from the 40s or 50s? Does it have a manufactured date on it anywhere?

It looks really great.

Nope, not at all. That case was pretty much brand spanking new. Three years old according to the guy who sold it to Big G.

This ebay store: http://stores.ebay.com/Laser-Creations

Has all shapes and sizes - yes, big enough for FS's. Also, if you buy from them you can get a catalog of even more. On all auctions there are listings w/ 1-800#'s. Call if you want soemthing they don't have.

I've ordered from the 2x now. ;)
