As you may have already know, XM-Studios has Graciously asked us to Design / Art Direct and produce Prototypes for their upcoming 1/6 Avengers Assemble Line.

So it is with great pleasure to announce the up coming line officially as a collaboration project under the wing of

Now with our extensive experience in the entertainment industry coupled with working with some of the top artists in the industry like :

Plus the excellent out of the box ideas from XM-Studios. We belive we can create something Truly Unique and never seen before in the collectibles community.

Looks like Loki coming first. Release schedule for the first few? Just wondering roughly how often do these come out. When it was first sneaked in the XM FB page, it was mentioned that the edition size is no more than 300 is it still true?

I have verbally reserved this line with Mark, my 3 and 6 year old boys are super fan of the cartoon, they would enjoy the AR feature quite a bit, we can't wait to see more!

I'm not even that into Red Skull as a character, & I think that looks pretty cool. Kinda reminds me of 'The Mask' :laugh:

Its a shame...maybe one day they'll come easier to North America. Here in Canada I really have to jump through a few hoops to acquire a piece and it ends up being priced out of the range I'm comfortable with

I really like how Cap came out, IMO the way he is stylized actually feels like modern comicbook artwork, I can totally visualize the HX Cap inside a comicbook today. The other characters though feel more like something from a cartoon show, maybe just a little too exaggerated imo. I know this line is meant to be toony, but modern comic style still fits really well for that purpose (think Hellboy for an extreme example) and I really hope the rest of the line stick to more of that Cap style rather than the TV cartoon look.


Just a quick comparison below, the Cap statue looks like he jumped right out of the comics, where as the Thor and Loki might be a little too stylized for that imo, I hope this image below is closer to what this line will eventually look like once we get the characters rolling, I'm personally looking forward to this line.

Also on another note, IMO keeping it industry standard at Bowen/Koto scale could help collectors get into the line easier, which is technically closer to 1/7 even though on paper it says 1/6. It's the little things that make or break the line, Koto started off as true 1/6 but eventually realized they are oversized and started producing in 1/7, better to get it right the first time.

We agree on your points and we love the cap's styling as well. Be assured that all statues will be following a consistent styling so that they will all display well together or individually.

We will continue to refine the statues once the 3d printing is done by hand crafting them individually and adding back all the details that is lost during the 3d printing process.

I'm really impressed with XM 1:6 scale statues, very detailed for their size and as usually the paints apps are perfect..

I am too. I know its not getting the hype the 1/4 is getting but with a few more characters under the belt and final release info....these could do much better than I originally thought.

I have no problem whatsoever with the sculpts themselves...they are great and have lots of personality within each one.

And I like the use of AR. Just something extra to throw in with it. The unpainted Thor does indeed look quite amazing.

I also like the 1/6 Video game unpainted portfolio pieces. They looked quite impressive!

ditto. Much prefer that pose. That would go well with a spinning hammer too such as in this pose:

I do really like the stylisation on his helmet, looks very cool.

And hulk looks great, again if that was what they had gone with for 1/4 scale they probably would be sold out everywhere by now.

Not really interested in this line as a collection. To cartoonish, so dont want to invest the money in a string of them. However, if I can find a good Superman Animated 1/6 statue in an action pose, I think depending on how it looks, he and Thor facing off would be a good computer desk topper as a one off.

Now that's a Hulk face I like!

I think muscles oughta be more curvaceous —perhaps that will be refined—, but so far this is one of the best comic book Hulk statues I've ever seen.

So much so, that it makes me reconsider quitting comic book pieces - with that size it would look great in my comics library.

Now that's a Hulk face I like!

I think muscles oughta be more curvaceous —perhaps that will be refined—, but so far this is one of the best comic book Hulk statues I've ever seen.

So much so, that it makes me reconsider quitting comic book pieces - with that size it would look great in my comics library.

I think this line is based of the Avengers Assemble type animation. So I don't know how in depth they'll go fine tuning muscles.

Even if they could kick it up one scale to 1:5 I might consider getting it. Anything but 1:6....this sculpt looks amazing. Bummed it will be so small.

They should have used this sculpt for their first 1:4 Hulk and the previous Hulk they came out with should have been 1:6.

Anyone knows who the digital artist is? Keeping in line with the animated style of the rest, I have no problems with the more minimalistic approach as compared to realism used for their 1/4 scale stuff. The core design of this hulk simply hits me in the right spots.

I love how he reminds me of ML face off hulk figures and the 2008 movie hulk without the prune skin plus a beefier body.

Looking at this makes me think how awesome the Thing would look in the same style, I think lots of fans are still waiting for a modern Thing 1:6 to be done by any company, and you guys definitely captured this style perfectly, I'd love to see a modern Thing done by you guys.

Also when you guys get to Wolverine, I hope you use the Astonishing X-men or New Avengers costume, so he actually fits in the same Modern era as the rest of the characters. It would also be a good chance to make your 1:6 different from the 1:4, modern era 1:6 and classic era 1:4 seems to make sense.

I don't think these are gonna sell well at all. They may overseas, but here in the States, I just can't see it. A $400 price point for a 12.5" 8lb anime Loki....as much as I like XM, I just don't think these are gonna be in the cards for collectors. The filthy rich who just throw their money away, yes, but the average collector...nah.

Anyone know the Edition Size? I bet it's gonna be pretty low. That's the only way these'll move.

The big characters are worth the $400....but not the small ones like Loki. Thor is $400 and he is almost 19" tall. We will see....I hope these do well...otherwise, what makes you all think the XMen do will be any different. In fact, I expect it to cost more than the Avengers Assemble line.

You can find that's almost the case with anything Aliz. Cars, video games, art, statues, electronics, books, stories, everything!
Most times, the person creating it may have never seen it before or it was buried deep in the subconscious. Pretty much whatever pose XM or any company does is inspired by poses seen in comic books. There is always an inspiration from something....but that doesn't make it like copying another's playbook as you so say.

To your point, the poses are similar...just different characters...excepts for the IM...that's almost exact. This is why I think 1/6 will be harder to sell... because there is lots more competition in that scale.

These are great statues and they turned out far better than I expected. Having said that the $400 price tag (based on BBTS' price on Loki) is impossible for me to justify on pieces of this style and scale.

Really hope that Disney/Marvel allows XM a larger direct market with a contract renewal which one can assume will bring the price down.

The Hulk and Venom while similar but the situation is different, the Hulk just busted down a wall, if it's in a video, he would be charging toward you, while Venom is just standing there. They give me completely different vibe.

Hawkeye is much more dynamic, jumping over a mailbox while shooting, while WM just kinda floating there looking very stiff.

Honestly, how many possible poses are there. Anything anyone make these days will have something similar....

P.S. BW standing in front of Hawkeye jump shooting makes no sense, isn't Hawkeye half second away from tackling BW....

Yes and that Koto IM pose was almost ripped off from Hard Hero IM pose. So I don't see where you are going with this Aliz. And like what another guy said.....the situations are totally different.

I really like the last few pieces that have been posted and the Hawkeye and Widow may well be my favorites. The slightly animated quality is still throwing me off a bit, but they are nowhere near as cartoony as the first ones in the series. I like the more modern looks as well.

I really like the last few pieces that have been posted and the Hawkeye and Widow may well be my favorites. The slightly animated quality is still throwing me off a bit, but they are nowhere near as cartoony as the first ones in the series. I like the more modern looks as well.

:iagree: That is the reason I was staying away from this line but looking at the more recent pics of Hulk, Black Widow and now Hawkeye I am starting to have second thoughts. Yes the price is a bit steep for the size but I believe the quality of the pieces and where they are coming from speaks to that.

P.S. BW standing in front of Hawkeye jump shooting makes no sense, isn't Hawkeye half second away from tackling BW....

Yeah, that display option makes no sense. We have yet to see the Black Widow base so perhaps the two will fit together in some way; this could be their way of hinting at that. The same was the Loki / Thor bases are supposed to fit together.

He is ambidextrous as all hell. He can wield it either way. Barton has gone through so many different personas and styles he is a master with any.

Yeah, you're right. I just wish line was based off the comics instead of the Avenger Assemble cartoon. If XM were going to make a modern Thor statue of any size I would cancel the SSC version on pre order in a heartbeat. I like the idea that the bases for Thor and Loki match each other. Does anyone know or can XM confirm that the bases do link together?

I believe so. I'm guessing that each statue will have it's own base but still be able to pair with one other. Cap/Skull, Thor/Loki, Hawkeye/BW.

I am really liking how the newer, less cartoony pieces are looking. Any chance these can also have a more realistic change-o head portrait. That would likely seal the deal for me. I much prefer these to the Koto line, which I had been considering.

ToyStations didn't reply my email about shipping oversea... Good thing this is made known early, and I only have Loki and Thor on PO, I was going to buy everything, but you can't complete a line without IM so I might forget this line all together as I am currently don't have any 1/6 other than the 2 mentioned... It makes no sense, you do a line and the main character is exclusive to a store that don't ship oversea. How stupid is that.

I don't know the exact facts only what i have read on here but I think it's a special edition IM for Thailands Comic Con I still think they are doing IM but will be slightly different from the Comic Con edition in May but I could be wrong.

Not buying this line, but, as I said back when the first WIP pics surfaced, that's a fabulous Hulk indeed, perhaps the best comic version I've ever seen. A billion times better than XM's 1:4 is putting it mildly. :p

Some people haven't been pleased with what they have been seeing from this line but how can you not like this regardless of the 1/6 scale. This is a definite pre-order for me. Planning to get the Loki, Cap, Iron Man, and perhaps Falcon once pics are shown. These will look great displayed together!

These are awesome. I HAVE to have a narrowed collecting focus to not get out of hand, so aside from F4F Zelda it's all 1/4 for me. I had to sell a few things to stay within my focus and gain control.

So I can't get these. But that Thor is the best Thor. If it was 1/4 and less cartoony I'd be all over it. As is, it's still perfect. Same with this Hulk. Love Loki's expression. The cartoon look threw people off but it just works.

I would cave in for a Black Panther though...

The face paint detail on the Hulk looks great, especially on the eye lids, but the color on the body and pants just look kind of thick and flat, almost sucking the amazing sculpt away. Hope they are still tweaking the paint job before production.

Is the non Thailand exclusive Ironman going to have a white/snowy base? I much prefer the Thailand exclusive if that's the case.

Sorry, I didn't ask much when I was there, so not sure if that is the finalised base or not. I did find out Hulk's tentative release date won't be that soon though, probably Oct this year or some time next year.

lol, didn't notice that in person at all. Unfortunately there seemed to be some discrepancies with the colours in my snaps as compared to his actual tone. He is of a darker green in person, so reckon his tongue may be closer to darkish red.
