Again I wish XM would stop with all the buckles and straps they put on these characters, 10+ buckles is overkill.

Would also prefer if the Pink and Blues were more vibrant in colour like this -

Other than that it's looking pretty sweet.

Yea, see what you mean about the buckles and vibrant colors. I do agree with you.

I noticed, tho, the buckles are slightly smaller this time. And if they were painted to match, then they'd be less noticeable. They merge well in the second pic.

Nonetheless, this is an awesome rendering of Archangel! So stoked!!

I'd scrap the shin pads as well to be honest, I know it's XM's unique take on these suits to have straps and pads on them but I think the more streamlined and uncluttered look is best for Archangel.

I'm in the the minority I suppose cause I actually like the modern looks XM is doing on statues like Archangel, Daredevil and others. I understand the desire for comic exactness but a change here and there is refreshing. The realistic spin XM is putting on the costumes is just another feature that sets them apart from other companies.

I like the buckles and straps... they make sense if you are going to stick with this "strappy" outfit. I personally always liked a little practicality mixed in with my superhero outfits. :)

What I like about XM's approach is the designs are inbetween the comic look and a movie concept art look.

I feel the same way you do, it's very refreshing to see more realistic outfits and colors. And it defiantly separates them from companies like Bowen..

I've never been a fan of spandex so XM more realistic take on the costumes is perfect...

With that said, in this instance you could ditch the buckles on this statue and the outfit would still look killer... to be honest I'm not sure what the buckles are for, they don't seem to have any purpose, where as the buckles on the other XM statues makes more sense..

He looks great, but I hope this doesn't mean we can't get a classic angel in his blue suit.

That's how I feel as well, seems like they just stuck a dozen buckles on there for the sake of it.

I really think he would look better if his colours were more vibrant, maybe make his face more of a lighter Blue as well to differentiate from his suit.

I'm being extra picky with Archangel because he's one of my favorite X-men characters.

Agreed on the colours although I think it would be best if you went vibrant on either the blue OR the pink/indigo (whatever colour you want to call it) and left the other slighlty more muted. any chance you can show what that would look like with the one you edited?

Also I'd much prefer if the wings looked like your ref pic (or the pic below)

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d123/sjr9982/XM%20studios/xmen%201%20large_zps42mykn03.jpg (http://s34.photobucket.com/user/sjr9982/media/XM%20studios/xmen%201%20large_zps42mykn03.jpg.html)

OR the blades on the wings were as above but have a bit more segregation / layers like real feathers on a wing.

At the moment they are, for me, sitting in no mans land i.e. not a metallic form of real wings (i.e. with lots of realistic looking feathers...some are massively long) and not that classic smooth look we're used to seeing. Not that they have to do either but for me it just doesn't hit a sweet spot. Maybe clunky and disjointed is how they appear to me and not as if they would actually make anyone fly (quite important given that the XM statue universe appears to be based on designs that are pseudo-realistic / have real world functionality).
Not easy to explain but at least I know what I mean...:confused2

Body sculpt is absolutely spot on though.

Amazing. I just picked up Bowen Archangel, although I may sell for this one. XM is producing some spectacular pieces.

after looking at it a little more I agree with you guys about the wings, I prefer the look of the way they were in the comics. I always saw them as like the edge of a knife, straight and very sharp. hard to explain but similar to if you layered machetes on top of each other so the end of the blades formed a straight line

it'd be nice if XM came out with 2 separate sets of wings. full display and retracted display.

I don't mind the buckles so much on this one. I think they look ok. Overall I like the suit design but I would prefer colors more in tune with the original look and not as muted as they are. This is more X-Force-ish and I'd prefer the original Archangel look like this pic you posted above.

I agree about the face being a different shade than the suit. Also they need to make sure some blonde hair can be shown so maybe a switch out mask less version . I always loved the contrast of blonde hair versus the blue and pink suit and blue face. And also it must include a Death's head switch out. So 3 heads please :buttrock:

I agree Bob about the wings. I'd much prefer them to look like the original comics and like that pic you posted. These are more X-Force shaped wings and far too fat/chunky for my taste. I think they took his X-Force look into the design of the wings more so than his original X-Men look and I'd prefer his earlier wings like the pic above.
