Using the original CGI files we believe along with production, this may be the most accurate Arnold produced to date.

We strive for authenticity and we hope to do a signature series as well.

Here is a first look.....What? You didn't think I'd just post up a bunch of pics did you?

Would the Signature series be Arnies signature?

T-800 enterbay will be very DIFFICULT to beat, even if it's not a statue, it's still the Arnie representation in Terminator to date!

This one is mixed media, his body will be all resin and his jacket will be cloth. Will have lighted features in the eye and base.

This is 3rd stage Arnold and very close to the end of T2.

We are wanting this one up for pre-order next month, trying to do one piece a month until the film premiers. No price set and Arnold is really pouring over this one, it's more than realistic. CGI and Scans have come a long way and we get to benefit.

Once again we don't want to make idealized pieces, we are working with production, the cgi files and Arnold to make this the best Terminator ever offered.

We want Arnold to sign the plaques and as long as it's not cost prohibitive, we'll try to make that happen.

Nice, let's see a pic of the head!

The best Arnold statue IMO is the Sideshow Terminator from original. The production piece looks so much better than their web photos. I even like it more than the CM. I've also owned the Enterbay.

This one:

Overall though, the Hot Toys Terminator tech noir Arnold head sculpt is most accurate IMO. Wish it were 1/4

Doll, Statue it's all in the toy category so let's not split hairs.

I don't collect Hot Toys pieces, but I appreciate the craftsmanship and quality.

We're trying to make art, what you saw on screen and not idealized pieces. By using the original prop or the CGI files, it's as close to production as possible.

I tell our artists to leave their ego at the door, it's not about who sculpted it our who did what, it's about recreating what was seen on screen 100% and giving all the credit to the original artists.

I'm getting out of figures and other stuff due to inaccuracy and artist interpretation. In the long run, I find myself unhappy with the overall looks. CM Predator was one that I owned for 3 years. I was blown away when first got it, but eventually lost the love. I'm glad the focus of Chronicle is on creating the original as that's how I fell in love from the start. Keep up the good work Paul. I'd like to make this Arnold a signature series and only produce 200 units. We would only retail these through our website. Arnold hasn't signed a piece before due to the fact that nothing lived up to his expectations. This piece he is willing to sign, we just need to work out the details.

Arnold does not sign for free and the signature could add up to $200 additional. I feel that the added cost is worth it in the long run as it makes this a very exclusive product.

It's all still up in the air......

Exciting stuff!

LOL!

I'll clarify a few things.

Idk, what do you guys think, if it's going to be almost impossible to get it, maybe they should just forgo the Sig option all together? It kind of sounds like Arnie only wants to sign a certain amount, but only Paul can answer that. It also could be that Paul underestimates how many ppl are willing to drop $200 more for the sig edition. 200 or less will make it hard to get. 300-400, a little more reasonable.

Chronicle CS
04-18-2015, 12:21 AM
It's hard to know how many to make, if it's to high people don't want it, if it's to low people think they can't get it. Our experience is nothing sells out the first day, but that soon may change as we build our customer base.

Based on our current sales, I'd rather make lower ES, offer better product and bonuses. We already offer one of the best payment plans in the industry and many have taken advantage.

It's hard to please everyone, but with the Arnold products I think we'll keep them limited to 200 pieces, maybe 100 signed and 100 regular run. This will ensure that the lower price will be available to those that don't want the extra costs of the signature.

Arnold really likes our 1/4 scale but he only signs a certain amount for the cost negotiated. We want him to sign several products from not only Terminator, but another license we posses as well. ;)

Paul, Since you have the license for Terminator Genisys, can i assume you are permitted to produce anything from the movie? Hypothetically, you could produce a 1/4 punk statue wearing the Tech Noir clothing? Let's say, again hypothetically, you produced that and maybe charged somewhat more than what most would feel is appropriate. Conceivably, as a thank you to those who pre-ordered this somewhat mundane character (and at a premium), you might send out a "gift" in advance of the delivery of the statue. Upon opening this gift, one might wonder (because we are all such an intelligent lot here) if it could be used to enhance the appearance of our "Tech Noir" statue, again hypothetically. Maybe???????

Relax, tough guy. I've been reading the Arnold and Endo-thread in here, and the majority of the discussion have been about the figures themselves. Not about what happened in the trailers. It was either on this forum or SSF that someone warned that the newest trailer was very spoiler-heavy, so I decided to not watch it.

But I guess that I'm in the minority here, most fans have most likely watched the newest trailer.

Nope, I didn't want to see it for that very reason, so that was new to me, too.

And I don't see how a somewhat modified model of the ages-old endo that we're supposed to be pre-ordering in a few days can really compare to what seems to be a major plot point, but hey.

I too was disappointed with them seemingly revealing too much, but we do have to remember as someone else on the internet pointed out, they also released too much infos in trailers for the other Terminator movies, but it didn't ruin those films. Yeah, so you know in advance of a plot twist or some things. It doesn't really REALLY ruin the movie for you. If such things were true, we would not watch a single movie more than once. Yet we do, because a movie's merit is not limited to shock value.

Judging by the pics, it looks like the clothes are sculpted?

As far as I recall, only the leather jacket is going to be mixed media. And that's good to me, jackets and capes are the only mixed media needed, everything else is miles better when fully sculpted.

I have several premium format figures and when the pants or shirts are cloth it seems like a waste.

Pants and Shirt will be grown on the figure. We can pack a lot of realistic detail you can't get with miniature clothing. Look at the shirt detail around the neck area.

The jacket will be real cloth and we are using the CGI model to get the wrinkles and form just right.

He's off to be printed this week, can't wait to get this in hand and molded.

Hi, Paul. When you say the 1/4 Arnold is being printed, what does that mean?[as I think you said it was finished a long time ago].Also, what do you mean when you say the pants and shirt will be grown on the figure?

This is a digital sculpture that was finished a while ago. It's now being printed, just like the 1/4 Endo.

The clothing will be sculpted if that makes better sense. Only the Jacket will be real cloth.

Of course he's full body..... ;)

Right, so when you say the 1/4 Arnold is being printed, he'll basically look like the 1/4 Endoskeleton, without all the paint, just grey in colour? And the clothing will actually be a part of the statue, right?

:buttrock: This is good news, I can see why people like the limbless look, but something abut it just bugs me. Do you have any kind of time frame of when you expect to be able to let us see glimpses of the actual product as it is painted up? As you can probably tell, we're all on the edges of our seats!

Thanks for the clarifying Paul. I'll be honest, I'm a little disappointed that most of the clothing will be sculpted. I feel that using real cloth for the clothes gives statues a greater sense of realism.

What was the reasoning behind going sculpted for the clothes on this, with only the jacket being mixed media? Sounds like a bit of an odd combination if I'm honest. Why not go sculpted for the jacket too?

I'm sure it'll look amazing regardless, I just think it would've looked a lot more realistic with real clothes, like Premium Formats and Cinemaquettes.

I prefer fully sculpted pieces over complete mixed media. But I don't mind a little fabric here and there. The right amount of mixed media to sculpt makes a piece go a long way. Too much mixed media kills the artwork. Im cool with just a fabric jacket.

Chronicle CS

I agree DH, I just wanted the jacket due to it being black #1 and I don't feel like pants scale down well, it's hard to miniaturize the stitching and seams...

Paul

Viper245

I side with Paul and DH when it comes to the use of mixed media on statues. Strategically used it can bring a fully sculpted piece to the next level. Over used and it can make a piece look like a giant doll.

Yeah, I do a bit of digital painting every now and then. I know they can make digital art look more like the old fashioned, painted movie posters. It's really not that difficult.
:banghead:
It would go a long way to make these look more artistic, less soulless. :/

It bums me out to see the studios going with such uninspired, cut-n-paste/photo-bashed type posters.
I certainly miss the Drew Struzan days.. movie posters that were true works of ART. Oh well..

Can't wait to see this piece finished, those digital model pictures look great and should make for an amazing piece. :drooling:

you can't produce these things in quantity as printed pieces if that's what you're asking - costs too much. They'd print the master like you say, make molds and then produce production pieces from that. Sure Paul will chime in but that's my understanding.
