Hey guys,

A lot of statements have been made regarding Terminator over the years that have just become fact.

I'd like to show a brief history of the evolution of the endoskeleton in movies and collectibles.

The Endoskeleton from Terminator 1, T2, T3 are all changed, subtly but different.

I'll go over these subtle details and manufacturing.

I've been researching Terminators since I started the first 1-1 collectible in 1998 for XFX. I'll try to go over all the different version of collectibles as well. I may need help as a lot of versions of our skull have been reproduced.

With all of these new busts and collectibles being produced, accuracy will be key in deciding what's authentic and what's sculpted.

Stay tuned, I'll slowly get to most of it....

I remember when I first saw the Icons endoskull in a magazine around 1997. I had to have it but it was just too much money at the time. I still love the way it looks.

Definitely interested to see the detail progression. Maybe some screen shots of each of the Endo designs, if any? And what do you mean by "accuracy will be key in deciding what's authentic and what's sculpted."?

Do you mean authentic accuracy from digital files, compared to someone sculpting those details?

Authentic could be a print from digital files or cast from a screen used piece.

This should clear a few things up. Let's not forget the T2-3D endo. Probably one of the last and best animatronic/pupperteered Endo's. Before cgi took over and ruined it.

Going to start this by showing the differences between the Endoskulls. One of the glaring differences between the T1 & T2 skulls is the port just behind the chip housing.

On the T1 Skull it has a grooved top and on the T2 skull it has a smooth top.

Both of the skulls shown are replicas, the T2 skull in the photo is a Winston gift skull.

All T1 & T2 Endos were Vacuum Metalized. This is the same type of plating that you find on model kit parts. It's very delicate and scratches easily. They were sprayed flat and weathered to taste. Photos of the original skeletons are coming.

I know there are videos of people telling you that they used triple chrome plate, that actually wasn't used until I made replicas for XFX in 1998 which later became HCG.

Always thought my Grey Zone was a slightly inaccurate T1, but just these first few pictures show that it's at best an inaccurate T2. Could possibly make some mods if there are enough reference photos and the differences aren't too great.

No excuses now hey? In fact this thread will help them out. And I hope they didn't just release an generic endoskull and call it T-1.

T1 has a few other characteristics unique to the skull. I've see the promo pic and I don't understand the neck or the chest and shoulder area. If you are going to include the chest and shoulder, why not make it accurate, same goes with the neck...

Are yes, it looks square and missing that slit in the middle. They have the resources, but for some strange reason they don't utilise them. Oh well, that leaves some room for other company's. ;)

yea, it's too bad SS is busy pissing all over ALMOST every movie license. We all know why they don't utilize their resources, they don't care too. It's that simple. I can see why their owners live in the shadows.

I think he is saying, the details on T2 Cinemaquette Endo are more closely related to the T3 Endo.
Look at the elongated spine, the detail in the chest area, the hydraulic lines going into the head and the rear shoulder pistons have a rose joint instead of the different connections they had on T1 and T2. All those details are on the T3 Endo that Stan Winston built for promotion and ILM reference.
Still an awesome piece.

I was under the impression it was based on Stan Winstons T3 (as Jaxon explained above :buttrock:)
I also thought CM didn't have the T2 licence only the third? If they had the T2 licence surely they would have gone with a T1000?. No that any of it matters to me as it's still amazing. Im just made up that my collection is about to quadruple in size with new Terminator items.

Everyone is used to the triple chrome plate on the T2 Endos.

You guys need to know I'm one of the first guys to make an triple chrome Endoskull. A T2 Endoskull is vacuum metalized, sprayed with a flat sealer and weathered. They were anything but triple chrome plate.

http://www.lucasfrancisstudio.com/lfs/terminator?album=3&gallery=712

http://www.lucasfrancisstudio.com/lfs/terminator?album=3&gallery=334

It's just become urban legend and fact that T1 & T2 Endos were tripe chrome plate but they weren't.

I don't care what guys tell you, I don't care what Adam Savage said in his tested video, he's mistaken and he's building one of my Endos using Artcraft that plated fifty or sixty licensed T2 Endos for me. But because Adam said it, it must be fact. Artcraft did not plate anything for Stan Winston during T1 or T2. All of the T2 Endos were vacuum plated....

What we made in 1998 was an idealized version of the Endoskull. The Teeth were also cast into the skull and I removed them and made the teeth using a set of impressions we got from a collector.

http://www.lucasfrancisstudio.com/lfs/terminator?album=3&gallery=445

http://www.lucasfrancisstudio.com/lfs/terminator?album=3&gallery=443

The Teeth were either chrome or painted on the T1 & T2 versions.

So while it's fun to have made all of those versions, don't think that what you are buying is cannon.

With this version I can actually say I didn't touch it in any way other than design the base and ship it to China.

T2 Endoskulls, everyone currently made by any company, not canon.

Terminator Genisys skull..............canon...

Same chromewas used with the t2 bullit hits on the t1000 I believe. They only got a couple uses out of them then the chrome started cracking and flaking off. They made a ton for the movie
