This massive bust will be on display at SDCC.

It's right at 12" tall from the top of the base.

Please don't PM for further info, there isn't any right now.....

We hope to have something to show regarding King Conan very soon, he's pulled from the same files.

We used the CGI grabs right after he loses his face, possible it's in motion. Plus ours is pissed off terminator...

Our clean version has hair more like what's pictured above...

Moving forward would explain the hair being that high. Hard to believe this won't end up being two busts. Even if it doesn't, I'll probably have to get two. Can't not have one of these on display.

I do have a nitpick and it has nothing to do with the bust because CC used the CGI files. I think the CGI files failed to capture fully Arnold's likeness. I know they were working from a lifecast, but I wish they would have referenced screen shots a little more. It's definitely 84 Terminator, just not quite 84 Arnold playing Terminator. I was actually hoping that the just announced lifesize bust could possibly replace the one I have on my lifesize figure, but it looks like there is going to be a slight distinction between the two.

I didn't say failed to capture his likeness. I said failed to capture his likeness COMPLETELY. I can tell the difference between the CGI and the real thing. I've seen the scene with the punks, something is just a little off. It seems to be around the eyes.

The Terminator has always been and will always be my favorite movie. Arnold has always been and will always be my favorite cinematic personality (notice I did not say my favorite 'actor'). I have lifesize figures and everything Terminator under the sun. I did say I was nitpicking. Yes, chastise me for wanting PERFECTION. Chronicle is giving us perfection, but the studio didn't quite make it. I will be extremely happy with everything that is produced, but it will be Genisys, not The Terminator.

The more I look at this, the more I like it and may have to grab one. Out of interest though, do we have a screen grab of Arnie with such high hair? Digital scan or not, it does appear to be a bit lofty (maybe the shadows are exageratting it?) The rest looks near perfect.

Saw you post over at SSF that you would do two busts if you can, meaning a clean one as well. What would keep you from doing that, the license holder saying no because it would be confused with T1? Definitely need a clean one.....in 1/1 also if possible.

You know this is a interesting concept, it being a wall piece and all. I don't know if it's $500 interesting, so price may be a major factor in me owning it...

If the price does go beyond my range of a few hundred dollars, I just want CC to know it will be incredibly hard for me to say no to this. Maybe this isn't a new idea to most of you. I don't know because I haven't been in this hobby for years. But at the very least it's new to me and I think it's a brilliant idea if it works for the piece, and this here is working...

A 1:1 version would be even harder to say no to but it's price might make saying yes to the 1:2 alot easier :p

This is sweet. I dont collect busts, especially ones that are this small. BUT... Im really tempted to getting it. Someone mentioned this is a wall bust? Will it have a light up feature? Any chance you'll be doing a 1/4 statue fig version?

Viper245

If this indeed a wall mounted bust, I might spring for it. With display space being at a premium, making use of wall space for some classy highly detailed movie pieces is a plus in my book.

Enforcer
07-08-2015, 05:46 PM
Well I suppose it might be a base display piece. I look at it and I see wall written all over it. Even if the intent is to use a base display with it...I would still put it on the wall. So if that's their goal, I would like to request the ability to hang it on a wall so I don't have to make the mod myself. I think it will be a fantastic wall piece. My large man cave will be done soon and I need more wall items to put up. This will no doubt be the crown jewel of my wall collection as most of my stuff will be posters and wall scrolls. It never once crossed my mind to look for wall mount collectibles but it has now...

Yeah, "unfortunately" it is not a wall piece. I've been brain storming what to do since last night. I think I've decided to build or invest in a wall mount for it. I'm thinking the basic single satellite speaker plate mount should work like a charm. I'm also considering an alternative method but it's a bit more work to make it come out right to hide the mount behind the piece.

In any case, if I am to buy this, it most definitely will be displayed on a wall. Can't wait to see what the asking price is and hopefully me pre-ordering it. This might be something I just pay in full for if the price is right.

+1 for non wall mount. I think this bust looks awesome as is, just needs to be bigger, say 1:1?

Enforcer
07-10-2015, 12:29 AM
I feel like I am going to be a big fan of wall mounting my bust pieces. If I look at the 1:1 endo bust I don't get those vibes, maybe because it's just a head at the end of the day. But this piece here is just screaming for wall mount trophy treatment. Even if that base is permanently attached to the rest of it, I think it'll still look good on the wall. I was thinking where ever I decide to have my main display area, pieces like this would be set up above on the wall to compliment the shelf pieces. It seems like it'll make for a nicer display overall when there's a mix of display styles rather than just everything resting on some glass or wood shelves.

I originally didn't care much for these kinds of collectibles. I felt they were sort of pointless. This piece here has changed my opinion. I just needed the right pieces to warm up to the design.

First shot angles gave off the impression to me it was a wall mount collectible in design. It did not occur to me that the chest area would be going outwards to mimic Arnold's upper chest in appearance, rather than a 'looking down at you' pose. I've been around hunters all my life so when I saw this piece for the first time I instantly thought of all the trophy heads on the walls at my father and brother's places, and how this would look amazing and better on a wall than any dead deer head ever will(imho)

I'm too new to this hobby to know any better. You guys have probably seen dozens of these things over the years. The reality of the piece put a small damper in my plans, but it will still be displayed as it's meant to appear. It's just going to take alittle more effort since I can't swallow putting this on a shelf and calling it a day.

Its a 12' inch bust. It's small enough to hang up on the wall. Chronicles should make it an optional, wall hang or surface stand whichever one would prefer.

did Paul say when this will go up for PO?

Also how much will this cost?

Paul, please consider releasing this bust in its raw form, I.E uncolored ( grey color.)

Also is it possible to have a chest + shoulder + abs ?

Thanks

There will be no seam on the finished product.

Also I still can't believe the arrival scene was shot down. It may very well be the most iconic scene of the franchise...if it's good enough for the film, why is it suddenly not good enough in collectible form....? Not that my life long dream is to own a naked Arnold statue, but still...

I haven't seen the movie yet (I am working on that) But isn't "pops" young when he arrives? I'm sure there was an 84 like young Arnie in a leather jacket etc glimpsed in one of the trailers? That would be an awesome statue.

If so, will it be battle damaged, or clean?

From Paul:

1/2 Arnold will be on display at SDCC, he's all finished and ready for prime time.

1-1 of the same bust is planned as well..

We're going to engineer the 1-1 to have the skull insert, transparent skin and painted down with real hair and electronics. Toynami does excellent life sized busts and based on the recent MIB bust I have no doubt this one will be epic as well.

Since we are starting this with this product, I thought I'd throw it in here:

Chronicle will start hand numbering all products moving forward starting with the 1/2 Arnold bust.

We will offer that product for 30 days. At the end of the 30 days we will make the ES announced or lower it to fit the orders.

So if we set an ES of 500 and sell only 300, we will lower the ES to 300 and close it out.

In most cases we hit our ES, but wanted to be clear on what we have planned.

This will keep products more affordable and we won't keep stock.

When you order a product from the Chronicle website you will be given a number, it doesn't matter if you pre-pay or use a payment plan. Our retail customers will get the lowest edition numbers for buying direct.

Starting with the 1/2 Arnold bust it's first come first served and we will start with #1 and go up, we will not hold back the lower numbers, someone will own #1 Arnold.

We will not take requests for edition numbers no matter how much you ask, this is first come, first served.

If you purchase from a distributor, your number will be above the amount ordered retail through Chronicle Collectibles.

If the hair had less of a sheen I would think its actually Arnold. Pretty excited for this one. Pending on price.

This piece came out amazing but I am going to have to stick with just the 1/4 Endo. I only have so much room and I am not really a bust collector.

Congrats to all who are picking it up.

Hi Paul,
Will this only be sold from the Chronicle website or will authorised dealers get this too?

Retailers will get it as well, but support Chronicle, buy direct. ;)

You also get a lower ES number by ordering direct.

I would, but with the bad Aussie dollar and shipping on top it is hard to, unless CS can cap international shipping but I know that is not possible.

Also our retailer did not got any of the 1/4 Genisys Arnie statues for sale. Was that not offered to retailers?

I must say this bust looks fantastic! Great job! I said I was going to pass but since Paul mentioned this is the first piece in a new line of 1/2 scale busts, I might reconsider. The price is a good deal especially with the light up feature. This bust was never going to be $200. Not in today's market.

Eh, I prepared myself for a $299 tag because of what it is, but not 350. I'm sure the pricing is fine and all, but I was only hyped about a 200 dollar-ish 1/2 bust line. At $350 I'm not sure I care about 1/2 busts. I think I rather buy this as a 1:1 head bust and without the chest for $500. The 1/2 scale with chest for "cheap" was a neat and interesting concept, but imho not $350 interesting. $350 is still $350 even today :D

I guess I'm still debating saying yes or no to this, but if future 1/2s are going to be priced the same I may as well bail out of my 1/2 plans.

For the record, because I know it's coming off as one of those "I knew I shouldn't have mentioned a price" things, my opinion would remain the same if I had never heard "$200" I can't stress it enough, at $350 I just assume save that money for $500 and up products. This bust is something I wouldn't usually buy, period. But I considered it for $200-$250 and even went to $300 if I had to. The only reason I haven't said no thanks is because it's just 50 bucks over my original limit I came up with last month, but there's got to be a line drawn somewhere...

Also I've got Trex and Anubis on my brain so that isn't helping me say yes to this :x I do think 350 is a good price for this now that I've thought about it since starting this post, but like I said...$350 1/2 busts are probably not for me.

Even though $200 was mentioned, I never saw it being reality. $350 for what is shown, in the photos, seems reasonable. If they deliver what's shown, IMO, it's an excellent buy, plus there's nothing near this price, in terms of Terminator busts, of this quality.

Chronicle CS

This is why I will not discuss, price or show concept pieces any longer. Seems to cause hard feelings when things change.

I had hoped to do this for much less, but the piece wasn't half as big when we started designing it. When doing the bust if you didn't show the full chest it looked odd and like we were showing a pair of breasts. I mean I know that's not what it was, but by having part of the chest down to the stomach really made it look weird, this added dimension to the piece. Anytime electronics are involved it also raises the price.

We are considering an Endoskeleton and Clean 1984 Arnold 1/2 busts as well so you have the full transformation.

All three have been approved.

I'm also interested in this one but as a life-size bust. Paul, you probably will keep silent about this topic as you must fear there are collectors who rather would wait for the 1:1 version. I'm just saying, you can count me in...100 %...for the life-size version and I have at least 2 buddies who would buy one too.

The SHOGUN
11-11-2015, 09:21 AM
If this is going to be made in life-size I will probably hold off on the 1:2. But if the 1:1 is not going to happen I would inclined to purchase this version. But I'm sure the 1:1 is still up in the air and nothing can be confirmed nor denied.

1:1 is too big for my display space. 1:2 scale busts are just the right size imo. That scale is big enough to show detail on the piece and provide presence on display while being small enough not to take up large amounts of display space.

Python
11-11-2015, 10:59 AM
I love half scale busts personally, this Arnie will be somewhat smaller then the other various creatures I have in LSB form, but he will be taking the place of my P2 bio and should fit in nicely, I don't mind a bit of cross franchise displaying and until CC give us an Arnie in the form of Dutch, it will have to do ;) 1:1 is nice for some things (such as the large bio here) but too big for many in bust/statue form. 1/2 is large enough to be impressive, detailed and easy to display, what's not to love.

This is certainly going to be an unique piece because does anyone expect another company to go this far on theirs if someday they get the license and decide to try it? I'm guessing no. I also guess that if people want it in 1:1 scale then they might consider buying this 1/2 because I'll bet the farm the 1:1's fate rests solely on how this sells :thumbs2: Which is what is really putting me in such a dilemma. I know a 1:1 is going to be on the pricey side but yet I find myself considering it. If I want it's existence to at least be considered, I need to pitch in and purchase this...

Well, Paul, I just decided that I'll be placing an order for this piece tomorrow. I definitely want all three so I'll do my part and order this one in the hope that the others will be made.
