Factory is trying to release 1st batch before Chinese New year. However, due to China factory is going to close for holiday started on 1st Feb. Most probably end of Feb / Ear of Mar should see some review

I'm guessing for those of us who live in the U.S. it will take a little longer since we have to get it through secondary distributor like Secret Compass for example?

Is this getting released first or Hulkbuster getting release first? I forget. I think the pre-order for this came out first right but there was some delay or something in production?

Hulkbuster is under some improvement stage now before send for production. You can see part of the photos at http://www.statueforum.com/showthread.php?t=150689&page=13 later or tomorrow

the only complaint is the repulsor on palm has no detail. Other than that, it is excellent, the paint job is best in market

Mine is on way from China via UPS. Could take awhile . . . We'll see. Hope there are no issues. No damage, all parts fit and are there and all the lights work.

This will be my first IA piece. I have the Hulkbuster on order as well. I also own the Sideshow Mark VII LSF so it will be interesting putting the two side by side to compare.

My mk7 should be arriving on Monday, can't wait. My eventual plan is to have a small hall of armour display with this the sideshow mk3 a 1:2 hulkbuster armour I have (its not the avengers version but its good enough) and the mk46 sideshow are also releasing.

You ordered one? :buttrock: Darksidetoy?
You won't regret it especially if you forked out for a SS 1:2 IM.

Doesn't really suit a hall of armour but the dynamic pose is awesome. Base is the weakest part but who looks at that?

Be prepared for the size and weight of the box.

Yeah got it from darksidetoy :thumbs2:

I know it won't be a strict hall of armour but the mk3 and hb are museum poses and they'll be flanked either side by the mk7 and eventually the mk46 which are both more dynamic (well from what was shown of the mk46 it looked more dynamic). But it'll be a good while before the mk46 is out so my 1:2 t-800 will have to take its place until then!

Just got the tracking info and mine will be here Monday too. :buttrock:

Nice! Let's hope they both arrive in good condition :thumbs2:

It just depends when the mk46 will be out before its done, I can't see sideshow releasing it before the end of the year if not early next.

OK, got mine today and will post pics later this evening or tomorrow. I'm 98% happy with it....my only gripe, and hopefully other owners of this piece can chime in, is that the lights in the eyes are noticeably dimmer than the hands and chest. My IA Mark 17 Heartbreaker statue has equally bright lights everywhere so this is a little disappointing, but most of the time the lights will be off so in the grand scheme of things it's not that big of a deal. Just wondering if anyone else has this issue. Some of the pics previously posted on this thread seem to show the same thing so I think it's more of a design flaw than me having a defective piece.

Got mine yesterday, beast of a box and very heavy!
Statue is awesome overall, paint finish is excellent (it makes the mk3 from sideshow look very flat!) very happy with it overall. Base is probably my only criticism as it looks a tad plasticky and I was never a huge fan of the sewer cover but tbh you don't really look at that such is the impact of the statue itself.
Another thing to note which was not obvious from the pics is that two sets of the aero flaps are provided so you can chose to have them open or closed, which is cool.
Mine does have an issue though as the arc reactor on the chest won't light up (the rest light up fine) dark side were quick to respond to my email which was a good sign and they are going to contact imaginarium so got to wait on their response.

I can't comment on the chest light, but the rest of the lights aren't the brightest imo. The sideshow mk3 is like a light cannon in comparison. Like you though I'm not massively bothered as 99% of the time whilst on display the lights will be off.

Totally agree that the base doesn't match the quality of the magnificent statue but the statue is the main focal point so that's what really matters.

Sucks that your AR doesn't work. Hope you get that resolved.
Maria at DarkSide is really fast to respond, unfortunately can't say the same for IA.
Took over two weeks to receive a message saying they will pass my issue to their office and nothing since, I thought SS were slow.

Brent my eyes are significantly dimmer than the rest of the body. In dark the eyes are okay but any ambient light and forget about it. I actually had IA ship me another head and it was the same. Also discussed with another Mark 7 owner in Singapore and same thing. In fact he showed me two pictures in different lighting and one had okay eyes and the other very dim eyes. Both same piece. So don't worry bro I have gone through ALL the angst for you, eyes are just that way. Which is a weird decision/design to have it so much dimmer but rest of the piece is spectacular.

With the eyes being much smaller than the AR you're not going to get the light as bright as the AR anyway?...

Thanks for the response, man. I'm going to have Shane at Secret Compass where I ordered mine from talk to his distributor and ask about a replacement head just to see if it makes any difference. It probably will turn out exactly like what happened with yours, but it doesn't hurt to at least try a different head. Like you said its a very strange decision if the eyes are actually supposed to be that dim, especially since my Mark 17 has bright lights all around. The lights will be off 99% of the time so it's not really that big of a deal as I love the look of this piece over every other 1:2 Iron Man out there, but I just wish those damn eyes were just a little brighter. :)

I agree with you 100% about this statue making the paint on the SS Mark III look flat. In fact, now that I have the IA Mark 7 and Mark 17 statues I'm thinking about selling my SS statue as it just doesn't fit in with these IA masterpieces.

I used to think the SS 1:2 statue was the coolest Iron Man piece out there, but after getting both the Mark 7 and the Mark 17 statues from IA I'm suddenly a lot less enamored with my SS Mark III. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it might be going up for sale pretty soon.

Yeah but I'd never get rid of the ss mk3 because of its links with legacy and the fact it was cast off the original study maquette :)

It really does. Also makes me question if IA is too large or SS is too small. Which one is truly 1:2 scale?

Yeah the IA mk7 is definitely bigger will have to have a measure up to see which it closest to 1:2

I own original Mark 3. It's a classic but is just overshadowed by IA one. Even Sideshow Mark 7 LSF is way better in terms of paint and detail. I have the IA and Sideshow LSF Mark 7's side by side and honestly the Sideshow one doesn't look bad next to it. Very nice contrast in color between the darker burgundy red of the LSF vs the cherry red of the IA.

Couldn't disagree more. Also, I don't know how you would go about making a statue look like it's flying, but maybe you have a better imagination than I do.

I think the pose is absolutely perfect and it's certainly not awkward in any way, but like I said to each their own.
