As good as She-Thor is looking...I want them equally! They both will look exquisite! I sense a trough of Cosmic / Asgardian characters about to trickle out of the minds at XM.

My prediction for future characters we will see soon are:

I think it's safe to say...more Asgardians and female characters are not that far behind. That's a great thing!

I hope this looks great as it comes together because I'm still not sold on the pose. Would prefer something more regal, powerful and goddess-like. However I've been impressed with the She-Thor so will wait and see. I'd absolutely like to see XM produce more Asgardians, including Loki on throne, Angela, Hela, Enchantress, Valkyrie (on Aragorn) Enchantress and maybe Executioner. With so much now coming out in 1:4 I'm thinking of finally selling off some of the Bowen pieces.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a change of head option because in this 3D render showing her straight on, I'm not loving her face. Printed and painted could be a whole different ballgame

I like the concept and pose. It works for me as it says fearless Asgardian warrior. However, Lady Sif isn't just simply a fearless Asgardian warrior. There's much more to her which distinguishes her from every other random Asgardian with a lust for battle. The issue for me is she isn't curvy enough and sadly, her face isn't very pretty to look at. Her face lacks elegance and beauty. I actually expect that kind of snarl and grimace on Loki. This is my first impression. That "no nonsense look" was also one of the issues with the Phoenix portrait as well.

You can be a fierce warrior and still look pretty. I imagine this can be addressed in a second portrait. However, the body type could be more feminin looking too. Lady Sif is supposed to be one the hottest women in Asgard too. Sadly, I don't see that aspect show in this prelim. We live in an era of collecting where fans who read comics are outnumbered by those who don't so they primarily buy statues largely if not solely based on how they look. You stand a better chance of better sales figures if fans think she's sexy too.

I like it, but it almost feels too "Conan" to me. The red needs to be more saturated, brighter. There should be red, white and silver tones in her costume, not tans and browns. I agree, the face isn't great, but I am afraid it will be worse if they change it.

So true. I admire the dynamic pose, but a regal pose to go with BRB and/or Thor would be great. Perhaps a semi-dynamic pose would work.

Let's be honest many a man has spent an entire marriage trying to avoid every SEEING a woman as angry as XM has here. That and crying, hence the term "ugly cry" or even "ugly angry". I think as long as they have a determine looking switch out they will be fine. However if they were to decrease some of the lines on her face, as they are ageing her a bit this head will look better.

All that said I can't afford the price for a Sif so I'll enjoy someone else's display :)

I wrote a second entry showing facial expressions that absolutely fit the current pose...and if the pose was to stay, I don't see a more regal / determined "prettier" portrait that could be done WITH THIS POSE. So here is what I posted in my second entry:

"Ok...so I was thinking about this further...and what I came up with concerns pose in conjunction with portrait. Firstly, with the action pose shown, it makes absolute sense to have a battle laden portrait like with what is shown. A calm portrait would not work as well with this pose....so that leads me to suggest that the pose needs to be adjusted for less action and more regal IF a different portrait is done. IMO, I feel that for the pose, the current portrait is the best one that makes sense. I am posting some further pics on a battle laden Sif...which goes in conjunction with the concept pose chosen and done for her. Either change the pose so you can have a more "beautiful" Sif and possibly have two different portraits....OR....leave the pose as is and the current head, but add a less enraged second portrait as well."

I just feel if she is in a less agressive lunging forward type pose...it would be better suited to carry two different portraits that would satisfy both crowds or less action, more beautiful / regal....and more action battle fury emotion.

I don't think the pose needs to be changed in order to get a non-screaming - and therefore more beautiful - portrait.

I think she can have a powerful, fierce portrait with her body style as it is now. Just imagine her about to whoop somebody without screaming. It's just like the Lady Thor portrait. Calm, but fierce.

Take away the swinging arm and have it look like she's walking forward and into the fray: design a left arm that is lowered instead of raised. This should give the impression of composed charging.

IMO there's no way to give a calm, plainly pretty portrait. She's going to have to be attractively angry in one of them for the pose to work.

She's actually more a companion to Beta Ray Bill. I think once all of them are together....Thor on one end BRB on the other and Lady Sif in the middle....it will make the beginnings of one bad ass Asgardian line of statues! I just hope Loki and KURSE (Hulk level power) are two of the next to follow.

This is why I think the screaming portrait now works excellently with the pose.

Looks beautiful... I'm in. The only thing I would recommend is to make the eyes a bit bigger. One of the drawbacks with XM portraits is that the eyes tend to look too small and a bit squinty.

Clearly, these redone modifications are nothing short of great IMO. All of them give the overall statue extra pop. The smaller shield was the biggest improvement as it reveals more of the character. The head sculpt, even though I liked the open mouth version, had issues with the teeth. Kind of reminded me of the SS Magneto Comiquette about 8 years ago with the terribly done teeth. Her teeth are much bigger and more pronounced....not teeny tiny and gummy like before!

Yeah, money is always going to play a factor. But for me I'm willing to pay a little extra for xm version. You don't see that many aggressive woman statues at all. XM nailed it with the pose and look. I believe only 600 are being made compared to SS 4000 or so. I'm just really tired SS and all the mixed media they seem to be doing even though I like their sculpt as well.

Which would a dam shame because both of those statues have amazing designs. She Thor has one of the most beautiful, even if not comic accurate, unmasked portraits I have seen XM create.

Lady Thor and Sif would make an amazing addition to their Asgard line-up. Plus if XM is willing to go through with making BRB, they need to do these two.

XM have shown they are willing to cancel pieces that don't generate enough interest and with the new MTO approach, I think both Sif and Jane Foster are on the chopping block. If they don't go up for PO this year, they are most likely getting cancelled.

I don't believe these are on the chopping block. If any one of the two is it would be Lady Thor as they were going to make some pretty significant alterations to her. Lady Sif I would think is still a go...HOPEFULLY:laugh:

I'm disappointed too. In their defense they didn't say when or that she would be there. That was an assumption by me. I think other pieces weren't there either that were last year.

I still have hope, but would like to see her again and get a release window.

Spoke to XM. Apparently they are reworking Lady Sif which explains why she went dark for 2018. She is still coming, but don't expect a release soon. Guessing 2020 at earliest now.

Not sure how I feel about a rework as she was perfect to me. We shall see.

I never did. To me she was once of the best statues I've ever seen. I'm not sure if rework means quality of engineering. Hoping she gets her second shot at a show sometime this year.
