A thing of beauty, coolprops are really making the most of this license.

I love it so much. I think I will get either the warrior or the dog. The predator 2 bust is just beautiful and pleasantly surprised by the price

Python
02-07-2016, 03:03 PM
Yeah, these are meant to cost less than the Predator also which is nice. I think this looks awesome! I'm hoping to get one of each, Big Chap, Warrior, Dog, Resurrection Warrior and maybe even Grid...

I quite like the slightly more relaxed look on this myself, an aggressive posture might look a little out of place on just a head. Although I guess it's likely they might do another with an open mouth if this one sells well, and Sideshow should have their LSB out at some point.

Already have a 1:1 dog alien head so doubt I'd get this but it does look very good, the paint job is excellent :thumbs2:

Yeah, the P2 on display is a production piece, but I believe the Aliens are the prototypes. If they can match that look however, I'll be very impressed indeed!

kikoken
02-08-2016, 04:24 AM
Do we know roughly how much these are?

Python
02-08-2016, 05:54 AM
Less than the P2 bust which is about $1200, that's all we know for now.

Python
03-30-2016, 04:24 AM
Maybe it won't be less than the P2 then which is pretty disappointing if true. Also, it is listed as being exclusive to a shop in Tokyo, but I'd not sure if that is just a domestic thing and SSC will distribute it also? Same thing with the blue version of the Warrior...

Even if I am priced out, how cool does everything on this page look!

Absolutely incredible. All the pieces I have ever wanted. Apart from the celtic P helmet I could buy all the others and not even blink... if had the money of course.
The Dog alien is my favorite design (yes I know blasphemy, who cares?) that is where my money goes.

Which ones are you getting Matt?

Python
03-30-2016, 08:07 AM
Nothing wrong with that at all, I love the dog, he takes second place to the big chap for me. The simple answer is that I'd like them all, but I'm going to have to be realistic about what I can afford to buy and be able to display in the space I have. I was hoping I could mount these on some sturdy wall shelves but I suspect the bottom of the bases will be far too wide unless they are altered. I'll likely go in for a Big chap and see what I can do with the rest.

It turns out this not not be the final price, apparently the exclusive aspect to these is that there are 70 of them made in house. Presumably there will be a standard run at a lower price later on.

Max Shreck

Yes space and money are equally important factors, especially with these life sized collectibles. Love the P2 also! We'll see! Quite exciting!

"Hi, it's Mika from CoolProps!
Today, I have a great news for all the Alien fans in the world!

As many of you already know, we produced Alien products for Japan for the Alien Day last month, and we were working on the Pre-orders through Sideshow for overseas, so many of you wanted them to be available outside of Japan (No question about it!).

Finally, it is almost confirmed, that our products will be available for overseas through Sideshow soon.

Please stay tuned with us and hopefully we can announce the pre-orders very soon!

Thanks for your support always !!!!"

Wow this is awesome!

Why is CoolProps under the Kotobukia section?? I understand they used to be part of one another but CoolProops has since went out on its own.

With all the high priced collectibles now offered by CoolProps don't they deserve their own section?

Python
06-17-2016, 10:58 AM
I agree, and I've said it in many of these threads that mods are more than welcome to move these, it's hard to figure out where they should go but the Sideshow section seems to be the obvious place now...

Does anybody know how many of these are being produced? I read somewhere that it was 75, but that seems really low.

They made 75 for the initial Japanese run. This is a new run however and there is no official word on what the ES might be. A cp rep suggested that Sideshow might set the number down the line, presumably it would be based on how many they sell.

I just wish we knew the shipping costs, I will definitely grab this guy if I can afford it. The Big chap is my priority though.

The sideshow LSB's take plenty of artistic license, so if it is perfect accuracy you crave, they probably won't offer it, as nice as they really are imo. What do you think is wrong with the lips on these? CP tend to use the original props where possible. And they varied quite a bit at times.

I'd also love a Dog Alien LSB however..

I know of the Beesub kit, it's nice, I'm very close to buying one... but it isn't definitive, it is just a different pose, one which probably wouldn't suit the style of these Coolprops heads. The Dog often has his mouth closed anyway. Both look nice to me.

Beesub Alien really is impressive. I find myself considering it just for the opportunity to paint it, but the asking price is steep for an unpainted 1/2 bust 3D print. Granted, it's not small by any means and apparently has quite a lot of weight to it's name(i.e. it's nice quality, up there with any production any of the collectible companies can dish out) It's supposed to be limited edition but beesub keeps repeating "very few left" for a long time now to people...

I sorely wished these 1:1s were more than just heads on a stand...

When you say they felt cheap, did you have the opportunity to hold them? Were they light weight?

Didn't hold them... these things were HUGE (the newborn was the largest), but they just felt somewhat cheap when I touched them. It's hard to describe partly because I was completely turned off by the glossy/wet effect on each piece.

They just may not be for me. I'm still keeping my P2 order (even though he wasn't displayed).

Um...that's quite a drastic change in paint app. At least get the shade right, I mean jeez... surely that's a camera/light problem and the paint isn't that vastly different in color...right? Seems to be much more light reflecting off the dome. Maybe it washed out the color...

I am glad they have the mouth as is, with a slight aggressive stance and inner jaw retracted. It suits this bust better the way it is. A wide open jaw with extended inner jaw would not suit it as it is just a head with no neck and no shoulders. Very cool Coolprops.

Didn't want to post this in the Big Chap thread but Python said something interesting in his most recent post and bang on imo.
"You can very much see the skull, when a light source hits the alien".
A buddy showed me some pics of Neny Dee's (sorry if I'm spelling his name wrong) Dog Alien pics and he said the same thing, including pics of it. There was a direct light source on it and It looked really good. It was very different from the video he made. You could see the Endoskeleton clearly. I'm still out on this piece but people who are on the fence about this piece may want to check it out.

Python
05-02-2017, 06:24 AM
Just to add, my comment was based specifically on the Big chap. The dog did have a darker dome and I don't recall ever visibly seeing its skull on screen. I will have to watch it again and keep my eyes peeled for it. But it was visible on the prop so you should be able to see it on this.

Regrading this dog, there have been plenty of decent pictures posted over on SSF, it's good, but the paint could be better.

05-02-2017, 12:28 PM
Sorry Python. I should have been clear, about you were speaking specifically on the Big Chap.
I'm pretty sure you see the skull(on the dog) in lots of shots.More from the middle to back. It's been years since I've watched it, could be wrong. Just saw those pics over there, glad to see that it wasnt a fail and the pics are so much better than the video.

Going ask SS for a replacement and not refund as it quite a nice piece. There's just one thing I really hate about it. The squiggly lines between the thick black vertical lines just under the middle part of the dome, look like they've been drawn in felt tip by a 3yr old.

Replacements are separate stock so you might be okay. Best of luck. And yeah, I got my money back for the P2 maquette, it is the first and only time I've ever received a tax refund for a collectible I had refunded however. It was a good one to win on however as it totaled around £200. I can't remember which form it was I had to fill in, but I found it all on google easily enough. It's getting them to accept it that is the hard part sadly. I'll look later when I have time if you haven't found it by then.
