But, then again, there was only one special visual effect that I was shelling out $9.75 to see . . . . Unfortunately, unbeknownst to me at the time, I was about to see the "enhanced soundtrack version", courtesy of another fellow movie-goer . . . .

Anyway, there was this guy sitting directly behind me who, upon Kate entering a scene, would loudly moan, "OHHHH, MAAAAN!!!" and "OHHHH, SWEET JESUS!!!" Each time she would come onscreen the moaning would only become deeper, louder and more urgent. I think the guy's "plumbing" was about to burst. It got to the point where this guy's panting and moaning became so frenzied that I was half-expecting to be hit it the back of the head with a wad of semen at any moment!

Well, what can I say, dear Kate has that effect on us guys!

Too bad you weren't available in that audience! Yeah, movie going certainly isn't what it used to be. Sorry if I nauseated you with this weird little digression, but, then again, I think many of us in the audience already felt that way about "Van Helsing" WITHOUT the soundtrack enhancements courtesy of Captain Spanky in the back row ("I paid HOW MUCH to see this meadow muffin of a movie?"). Personally I wanted to clock that guy three Sundays this side of Eternity, but settled for my ticket being refunded by the management instead.

Yes, I loved that costume she was running around in. There are very few gals out there who can look so good after being flung into a Gothic column like a rag doll every fifteen minutes or so by the Wolfman . . . . I even thought her uneven attempt at a Roumanian accent was cute in an engaging sort of way.
