You hit the nail on the head. I doubt GG will ever get around to characters like this considering their slow pace of statue releases. At most these guys would only get a bust from them. On the other hand, Sideshow may get around to these eventually, but who knows when.

That's one of the reasons I started to collect Attakus(besides the awesome quality, of course).
They had this whole SW Universe ready in front of me, with many characters, like no other company have, just waiting for my $$$. And much, much more still to come! :buttrock:

You're right, Kenner flipped it for the card. There are some original autographed prints (with COA) out there and it's like the statue.

Oh yes. Pretty close to Jabba's weight, tough. ;) I think it would be even heavier, around 50-70 lbs! :eek:
Problem is that it would be way too big, but you never knows...

It'll be interesting to see how Jedi Luke turns out. Human likenesses is one area they haven't quite gotten down yet, although Padme doesn't look too bad.

Leia and Han doesn't look that bad either. I had Padme and she was alright. I have Han and he looks like H. Ford to me. Love the painting on the eyes also. Here's a composite I did with my Han. Their human characters tend to look much better in person, tough. I hated Leia when I first saw her in the picture. She defenetly looks much better in person.

I have it too: it is a very nice piece and goes well with their Chewie.

the only one who is really not good is Luke Skywalker, but they have the benefit that it was their first human face and with no approval of M. Hamil.

I am anxious to see how their new Luke Jedi will turn out!

This Tusken is amazing, but this is one piece that I'd rather have a Sideshow 1/4 version of. They probably will never make one of these, so I might get the Attakus. He's got a ton of detail!

I dunno. I'm a big GG fan. I don't thik overly prejudice twd. their quality, but they certainly get a fair shake from me. Their level of detail and realism isamazing...
I understand all of their scheduling and release dates lead to frustration...however, where others see this a s a de-evaluation of the co's worth as a whole, I tend to tollerate it a lil' more and overlook it. I can honesty say I personally have not been disppointed by any of their piecs to date....I value the innovative modular approach of the clone/ST busts, even if done in an "economic" way.
I like their Vaderstatue and thinks its an excellent value. Is it better than the Attakus or even SS? Maybe not I have seen neither one in person...were I to be able to own only 1 of the pieces I might not have chosen the GG....
Do I think the GGV is as good as ATK/SS....no. Do I think GG did an excellent job on it? Yes. Did they bring an excellent prduct to the arket at an excellent price pt.? Yes...
Like I said I like GG....take nothing away from them....other than release scheduling prob's and randomness of releases.....
However, having seen ATKs Jawa, Yoda 1, Salacious, R2....I think any co. is going to be damn hard pressed to beat ATKs Tusken and or Wicket if their quality is even on par w/ their past pieces....to say GG, or any co, surrently out their, yup even SS, will take them out is a mighty tall order.....

I have seen pieces done by all three companies and I must say that the attakus stuff is superior to all others so far. By the looks of their upcoming series 4 statues I don't think they will be dethroned anytime soon!

I don 't have all but what I really like in my collection are my Darth Vader 1 with 2 storm trooper and the emperor with 2 royal guard: these are the must for me (except perhaps the impressive Jabba scene).

With Attakus, for me, it's hit or miss. Some of their pieces look fabulous while others, I feel, are lacking.

This latest series is a grand slam, however. IMO, this tusken statue looks like one of the finest SW collectibles ever produced. :buttrock:

even on SS's own site, they have it for $425...i ended up ordering that one, then ordered another one from someone else (can't remember who, since i'm at work) for @$380. just seems bizzarre they would be asking such a ridiculus amount..

you found the sideshow exclusive version? i have been trying for awhile on sideshow for the exclusive version but always says reserve.

I'd recommend putting yourself on the waiting list at SS if you're still looking for the exclusive. I did it a few weeks ago and they converted my reservation into an order a day later. :)
