I don't know if any company ever came out and said berserk license is expensive or the fact that art of war made prices so high and things keep on selling out despite ridiculous high price that every other company just set it high as the norm.

Prime1 request for your help in proposing what they want to see in the statue. It will be 1/4 scale. However dynamic pose requiring exceptional depth and width (height is no problem) is expected to be ruled out due to the giant size of the sword."

What I quoted on the last page was from a post made by Kelvin Loke on the Prime 1 facebook group and 2 comments also from him. He is pretty much the guy responsible to make the announcements on their group, even though I don´t really know what is his position in the company. So it´s official :)

Since they said the first reveal will be around March, I have some time to save up, which is pretty nice. Bad thing is Evangelion will probably be released near Berserk and I will have to choose between the two. I can´t wait to see what Prime 1 have in store!

That 1/6 Gecco ran me close to 450 shipped and it was pvc. I'll be impressed (and thrilled) if this clocks in under 1k. If there's an intricate base, all bets are off. Lol

Even though all through the Manga it is blood and guts over and over again? Alot of Art of War's Guts pieces are bloody and graphic. Guts = blood and gore.

Yea, cause I want the character to be showcased. I'd be fine with a base that's just the environment he's walking in. Like rocks or the forest.

Again, just my personal preference. I don't like too much gore in statues. But let's see what Prime 1 has in store for us.

Also, anybody that is planning to read Berserk needs to be aware that there will be a lot of waiting between chapters when you catch up with the current story arc. Miura is famous for his hiatus and he is actually in the middle of one, with Berserk returning in early 2017. I personally don´t mind at all, but if you have a problem with this, you might want to be psychologically prepared.

There is the 97´series, with 25 episodes, which covers until the end of the golden age arc. The 3 films, released in 2012-13, which also adapted the golden age arc. And we have a new animated series, with it´s first season released in 2016 and covering parts of the Black Swordsman and Conviction arcs, with a second season already confirmed to be released around April 2018.

There is also a video game which will be released soon called Berserk and the Band of the Hawk. With Prime 1 also doing statues of Berserk, it´s a great time to be a fan and the perfect oportuniy for anybody that wants to start reading it.

There are 2 Wonder Festival conventions held every year, in Winter and Summer, the Summer one is usually around the same time as SDCC.

Expect a lot of anime reveals from Prime 1 at wonder fest, they should have a large showing at these events since they are held in Japan where Prime1 is based.

Yep. Especially since even when we get a full teaser we don't see the statue for ages anyway (Bloodborne, Guyver) so I don't really see the point of these jigsaws.

Your not kidding. I think he's easily over 10 feet tall in Apostle form so he's gonna be 29 inches tall plus in 1/4 scale.

If there is one company that I would trust Berserk with is Prime 1 and I don´t remember to have ever been this excited for a line before. But I will definitely keep an eye for F4F, since they seem to have an outstanding work as well.

Well said. Prime 1's guts may be slightly better but probably not gonna be worth double the price of F4F. Of course this is all speculation at this point. Once we see some prototypes we'll get a better sense. I just hope we'll get to see both companies versions before pre-order time.

The more I see this, the more I love it. I don´t see anything wrong with proportions here, since he is using a huge armor, and the base is just insane. The only complaint I might agree with, but that doesn´t bother me at all, is that, given the base, they could have made his armor and body covered with more blood.

If you look back at any Guts figure made, there is always whining people about the proportions and paint app and the face and this and that. It seems that no one can ever get Guts just right lol. Just be thankful that there is more options now than just Art of War to choose from.

I think this is the most impressive or at the very least, one of the top 3 statues at the show IMO. The base is great..and I enjoy the way the sword can be displayed...especially on the shoulder! Prime 1 in my opinion did an awesome job on their first release on the Berserk license, and I'm sure that when it's released and see the quality of this piece first hand in front of our eyes it will be outstanding!

I would binge on the manga honestly. Both the early and the recent anime series skip over things. But the first anime series is still one of my all time faves and covers the Golden Age Arc. The movies cover this as well only in condensed form but the CGI does get distracting at times. The most recent anime covers material after the movies and still has the CGI elements which a lot of people weren't thrilled with. But if you are able to bear it, it's still a good watch IMO. But if you want the best experience, binge on the manga.

I'm seeing a complete remastered DVD set for $80 on Amazon and then movies as well. Is that worth it or would you hold out for a Blu Ray set?

Manga is a thousand times better. Old serie...is old serie and don't reflect the manga. The movies are not well drawn IMO and the new doesn't appeal much with his style...

Manga is the way to start Berserk, too bad that it seems that Miura won't finish it...

Totally agree! People think he won't but it think Miura is still busy with Berserk..it just takes a lot of time..3 years between volume 37 and 38... I hope he will finish it maybe it is already finished and we don't know...

So, what do you guys recommend for someone that's never got into this series? I'm not into books really but would like to check out the anime. Is there more than one? manga is the best, its a fun read with awesome art and goes fast
the most recent movie series is really good too imo but only focus on the early days before "the black swordsman", the cgi can be a little jarring at times
the early anime series is pretty good but slightly dated at times, i havent made it through the whole thing yet

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I see the paperbacks on Amazon, is that the best way to purchase them? I'm seeing 38 volumes, is that correct? At $10-20 each that's pretty pricey lol. Idk, I think the character looks pretty awesome, maybe I'll just buy vol 1 and go from there. Is there a big bundle deal anywhere for better deals?

I am not crazy about the pose. Other than that, I really like how Prime 1 incorporate all the elements related to Berserk. The price will determine whether or not I will get this.

Also, I would mind being with the woman on the left or middle. =P

The first tv series is great, but the manga is a masterpiece.

If you are not sure if you will like the manga or the story, you can watch just the first episode of the first anime series and, if you like it, buy the manga. Some people think it´s a little dated, but it can help to give a general feeling of how Berserk is.

Not me, I want my Guts bloody and ruthless like he should be. Btw, if anyone is interested in this story, I recommend the manga. But that being said, the new Berserk video game came out yesterday, granted its a typical Dynasty Warrior game, but visually it looks great and it gives you somewhat of what the story is about.

i know i said i was going to hold out for F4F but the more i see this the more im leaning towards going the prime1 route. personally i love the pose, switch out options, flow of the cape and gnarly base. preorder coming soon per instagram...
