Totally. With their quality, these statues would be the definitive ones to have. Especially with the new live action movie coming out. we'll see more people discovering the original Ghost in the Shell for the first time and thus more people interested in the statues.

It is buried somewhere in the Collectors Group on Facebook, but I wouldn't take it seriously. I think they had the TV series Evangelion designs in that picture and then it turns out they are doing it based off the new films instead.

I'm fairly certain their anime line is going to be 1/4 scale. I'm pretty sure that a prime 1 contact said 1/4 scale. I agree 1/3 scale is just too big.

Horrible because you wouldn't be interested? I haven't seen P1 do anything I'd remotely consider horrible so far. Maybe I have lacked interest in many things they've done, but their work is light years from horrible.

I agree, their work is awesome! XM Studios level almost. I meant that it'd be a travesty to have the statue based on the upcoming movie. I think they're doing it on the source manga/anime.

tough to say... What you say is true but their whole anime line is geared toward classics. Hope they keep it that way. Plus if its part of their anime line, it wouldnt make a lot of sense to throw in an American feature film

I agree. Perfect time to capitalize. The live action movie will set new eyes to the original manga and anime who have never seen it. Again, this statue should def be based off the manga and anime. Hope we get some teasers from prime 1 soon.

I own this print by 1000 Editions. Jim Lee has one too I recall from seeing his setup.

I want an original animated Motoko from the movie. I don't think there is a statue of that Motoko. I remember an old garage kit of that print artwork. It's just ok considering what sculptors can do and release today.

The new Arise Motoko from Kotobukiya looks good. I'll probably get that one for Christmas. Not interested in the Americanized version even though I like Scarlett. Whoa major suck! I think I would kill somebody. Yeah on MFC they have the ES listed as only 100 for the clear leg version. Ran into mine on the dusty back shelf of an old comic shop a couple years ago.

Just saw one come up on ebay last month, sold pretty easily for $600, only 2 bidders. I guess they sell in Japan for a small fortune going by the prices theyre posting the solid leg version for on ebay. If I ever sell Im gonna take a vacation lol

Prices have been going up on them but if you keep an eye out you should be able to find the reg for $250ish. The prices for it out of Japan are $2-3k lol theyre nuts. Only seen 2 of the glass leg version on ebay since I started collecting, if you find one grab it! :buttrock:

Found some regs. With the regular, the repaint is the way to go, that paint job on the regular is crap!

yeah, the hard disk special edition has the glass legs optic camo. The reg is solid black. I have the one in your pic above also, thats the comic cover statue. Its pretty nice as well, got mine for $75, they usually go for $150ish. Was going to get the repaint but got her for a steal. I actually kinda dig the bright colors.

Gunsmith Cats is by the guy that did Bubblegum Crisis. Someone should make the Knight Sabers. Especially considering how popular Iron Man is. Plus, there is the new female Iron Man character who's comic I still haven't read...

I wouldn't call the origin manga the weakest link as so many ideas in the movie and following series come from that original manga. If anything, everything after Solid State Society is the weaker link. Although, I haven't seen the 3D short movie yet. I think it's called Dive something or other, I can't remember. But Arise was an odd reboot and the Americanized movie looks to be another ripoff type similar to The Thing 2011, TRON Legacy, Star Trek into Darkness, and others.

The Ghost in the Shell movie was more influenced by Blade Runner as was the sequel. Both lacked the humor that was at times in the manga and TV series.

Once the new film arrives in 2017, maybe then P1 will begin hinting at what's to some. I'd rather they started showing now what they have planned. As we have seen with Suicide Squad, they only reveal future status after the films release.

I am so looking forward to this Either Version, Anime Version or Movie Version, The Anime Version has a lot of room to get her look down based on the original based on the 1995 hit but what scares me is there should be no artist personal representation allowed when doing the portrait likeness of a specific character, none, SSC failed IMO on IM Black Widow is 65-70% her likeness, Gentle Giant Avengers Black Widow is 95% her likeness JMO but if for some reason SSC gets it, just hope they do it right

I hope so too. Given how many new Prime1 statues were on show at the Tokyo Comic Con 2016, can't see how Prime1 will be showing anything Ghost in the Shell prior to the film being released. This is assuming Prime1 are working on statues inspired by the 2017 movie.

I think the old anime movie version, is wicked look but if you like that then there is no harm in scarlett version, since she is cast pretty good the looks are about the same if she was a real life person.

And the new anime version and the ghost in the shell stand alone complex version, will be anime based statues so yeah pretty save

It seems odd to me if they go for the new movie version. The line seems to be more geared towards the classics- Eva, Akira, GITS etc... They do lots of statues from movies, I dont think they would market the movie version in their new anime line but alongside their other movie stuff. Hopefully anyway.

Not a big fan of the old film animation. Would prefer they modeled it after SAC but not in the cartoony style.

That's what I want more than anything collectibles-wise, but only if it's 1:5 or smaller scale. P1's 1:4 is already expensive and, while price would not deter me from wanting to complete Section 9, I doubt they'll be able to pull off the necessary ES and price to make enough of a profit to continue even past Togusa. I don't want what happened with the Gentle Giant's Honey Trap or Gaming Heads' Mass Effect lines (or what's threatening to with Sideshow's Batman 66 and He-Man ones) to happen with these. Better to go the PCS route and explore high quality action figures as an option.

Well Shoo, I really didn't want to go there but here we are, I heard they already Sold Out, for myself from the base up to the shoulders that was Easy but above the neck JMO they could have done a lot better, must be a SJ thing Dunno

yeah, the hard disk special edition has the glass legs optic camo. The reg is solid black. I have the one in your pic above also, thats the comic cover statue. Its pretty nice as well, got mine for $75, they usually go for $150ish. Was going to get the repaint but got her for a steal. I actually kinda dig the bright colors.

Could check around some LCSs like DiscoCougar, you might strike gold never know

The Only thing I fear now is that with Ghost in the Shell coming out next year, people will start asking insane money and it already has started, went looking for the Hard Disk Clear, no luck but already I saw the Comic Cover Version asking price $2000 and the reg version Hard Disk $2000 also but other versions of either where still around the current asking prices.

Something that we've never seen before considering all their other statues with great base designs and poses. I can't wait. As I bet this will be the best Motoko piece.

Just over 1 year. It was announced in Sept. 2015.

Prime 1 also has freelance sculptors on their projects as well. So it's likely they're busy handling more than 1 project at a time.
