I think they have the license for every MGS game but will be starting with MGS1.

I'm pretty sure they can make what they want with Dark Souls too but are working through the first game first before moving on.

In terms of wait time, yes, I agree. However, F4F has soooo many licenses. What is the likelihood of seeing this line ever getting multiple pieces within like 4-5 years? I'm thinking 2....

I have their Megaman Classic series and the only thing I've seen is another version of Megaman and Protoman. Where is Dr. Wily and his robots???

Even for Mario fans, it's been a huge wait just to see a glimpse of Bowser and that was a while ago. Why isn't he up for pre-order by now?

That is just a couple of examples.....

I think F4F does quality work and their pieces look nice but if you're focusing on specific lines of your favorite series, it can be frustrating to collect. Especially when you are waiting on their companion pieces.

Mega Man has hit hard times because of the low sales. It's uncertain how long they'll continue with this line.

And regarding Bowser, he's coming but Nintendo is not only very hard to please but also take their darn time to approve anything. F4F has been waiting a long time for their approval for the Majora's Mask changes they themselves requested and Midna was pushed back because of the long wait as well. Bowser also took ages but they're finally able to progress again on him. And he looks awesome so far!

F4F don't do wrong in my eyes and the fact they have gone for the peaking round a wall pose is already perfection imo, i can't wait to see the details and the switch outs...i was buying this anyway but in the hands of F4F it makes it even easier :D

Maybe eventually but they are concentrating on Metal Gear Solid first.

Other games will come eventually. I think most MGS fans will want stuff from the first 3 games first, especially 1 and 3 as for me and many other it has the most memorable cast of characters.

While 5 did a lot of stuff right, for me it did so much wrong and isn't as memorable or has as many memorable characters as the earlier games. There wouldn't be many characters i'd even consider buying from 5.

I'm sure statues from 5 will come eventually for those who want them but i feel F4F are definitely starting in the right place.

Those are nice prices. Didn't expect the Stealth edition. Which is a nice touch. With 3 days to pre-order. I know many will miss it and not get a chance to get this piece. But they are going over and beyond what any other company would do to make their customers happy.

Even asked is if it was ok to sell a product at a show is amazing. The don't have to do that and I found that extremely awesome.

I really like the statue. The rotating ammo box is awesome but IMO the face is a little bit off even if it's from konami. Will there ever be another version of snake Alex? Maybe a pixel version or a mgs2 snake ?

I think you guys did a great job. However, it's really important how committed F4F is to continue the line and finish the roster. Sniper Wolf, Psycho Mantis, Vulcan Raven, Ocelot, and Liquid Snake.

Will dive in if the support is there. I think there is enough MGS fans that will buy into this line since a 1/4 statue version of them has never been done.

F4F doing gods own work! I've been so horrifically sick all day, i missed the live stream and everything so I've just sat and watched the Documentary.

i think it looks great, love the pose, love the EX parts. Not interested int he Stealth version but it looks great and i'm sure will do well and be super limited.

The only thing i would have liked is some extra detail on the base, the wall that he's leaning against i'd love to have a ripped down posted or something on the opposite side? Minor nitpick but i just think something on there to break up the overall "grey" look of the statue would be great.

Definitely in for an EX.

I don't see anyone just buying the stealth version. The Twin Snakes bundle for $100 discount is the best option for it.

Pretty much means the character design is Konami's. Im guessing from their artwork and renders. I never got the chance to play mgs so pretty much missed the series. Statue looks pretty awesome though. Love the running for cover pose with the bandana flying. He seems a little long in the face to me but the more I look at it the more I dont mind. Cult character, and people are getting waaaay too upset. You know it's Solid the second you're looking at him. Sure, he's a bit bulkier, but then again every media shows him in different light. Comics, art, sculpture.

I'm in for him and Sniper Wolf. Pass on the rest.

Same. Sniper Wolf and Snake will do for me. Alex posted a tease in the FB group, I'm afraid next up is Mantis. Even though I loved the battle, and think it's one of most memorable in game bosses of that era, I think it's an odd choice for the next statue.

Fox and Wolf are the most popular ones, it's safe to assume they would be a hit. Not sure how many people will be buying the entire line up, especially at those prices.

They teased Psycho Mantis, which is awesome - I'm likely in for that. In addition to the Ninja and Sniper Wolf that seem to be the most popular next characters, I'm also hoping for Ocelot and Vulcan Raven. Ocelot is a top-tier MGS character for me, and Vulcan Raven would be an awesomely massive character to produce in 1/4 scale.

Hey Chockles, thanks to you and Alex for being so open to fan input. I wrote a long critique on the facebook page and I was really pleasantly surprised to see that you guys responded to it. That's part of the reason why I have like 16 F4F pieces already.

Please, as others have mentioned please have Snake with his classic SOCOM pistol as well as a swap out holding knife even though the Knife came in later games. Also, we dont know if we will get more versions of Snake so a swap out knife would be a nice option to have.

Please, include special DOGTAGS!


Please, consider with the Cloaked version to have a special bonus of Dogtags given.

When you sneak up on an enemy you can get them to surrender their Dogtags and it would be cool if that was an added bonus for the sneaking vesion of Snake.

The base Im sorry to say is too generic for MGS1 and the base should be more iconic as maybe a representation of him behind corridor doors or the area when he first begins the game as well as there should be definitely a camera somewhere on the base that Snake is hiding from. Maybe a poster of a sexy girl on the wall like in the games. Maybe, a button that plays the sound when the Camera notices you or the iconic saying when you die,
"Snake, Snake Snaaaaake." Also, he is not completely hiding behind the wall where the gun and part of his back is visible. That should be corrected so he is not exposed from behind the wall.

I like the floating ammo and you should still add a Card Board box accesorry with Hot Toys level detail for the cardboard box. Maybe, with an easter egg fact or image written on the box, secrets from the game.

Please add a little COA booklet that has facts about MGS1 as well as please make Metal COA's. A Metal COA for "Metal" Gear Solid is a must, please consider. If you look at the Metal Card that comes with Sonic Mania Collectors edition game recently released by Sega that will give you an idea on what your COA's should be like, but the only difference would be to have the Metal COA as big as the standard size COA's on the market like PCS... A Metal COA gives a much better elegant touch when displaying the piece versus the old cardboard COA that everyone uses traditionally...

Also, they should have a nice Hologram Sticker on the COA for that official look.. Maybe allowing the collector to put the hologram sticker on themselves like you have done with a past release so it can be placed on straight without any errors.. Companies always put holograms on crooked and last time my Zelda BOW fig had the Hologram sticker put on where the factory messed up and part of the "VOID" Can be seen as if they placed it on wrong the first time, then tried to fix it.. So please include a Hologram we can attach to the Metal COA. I appreciate any considerstions you take on Fan suggestions. Thanks again... Twin Snakes pack I am excited for and I hope the changes with the SOCOM and maybe a better base will get me to buy.

The SOCOM is great but did they change the face too? It just seems to me that the prototype has a much leaner face with a V-shaped chin than the reveal.

It's not a bad statue at all but personally I'm not super feeling it. It's probably a licensing issue but I was really hoping for a MGS version of snake and not a legacy one. Younger, short hair, leaner...

I would have replaced the wall with some lockers. You could have had one open with a girl poster in it, or the spinning ammo box in it and then put a cardboard box instead of the ammo box on the outside.

To the right would say the MGS name and number in the edition.

Of course here I'm with you. It would be definitely cool if there would be some more details to the base. Unfortunately I don't think they will add much more here, we'll have to see. I will still preo the ex, just cause I don't want to miss a statue from one of my most favourite games. I'm not sure if there will be ever a 1/4 Solid Snake from MGS.

@jinkazama - Read the product description again :) We have stated that every version apart from the regular will have the MGS inspired box as packaging. So basically, you get the styro foam, that goes into the colour box, then put into the mgs inspired box, then with sponge corners and finally into the brown shipper.

As a result, we will delay the launch until we know with confidence on whether the changes have been approved or rejected so that people can preorder with a clear understanding on what the final product would look like.

I would not want anyone ordering with the assumption that the changes will happen, only to find out that it wont be changed.

For your reference - things that we've looked into are: SOCOM gun, reduced muscle bulkiness on arms a little, paint scheme and hair.

Also, for the stealth camouflage version, we are now working on a neon green version as well and are looking into allowing you to choose the version you want yourself. Of course, this is also subject to Konami approval.

In the mean time, I will keep you guys informed the moment we have any news. I hope you can understand my decision and I appreciate your understanding. Yeah, shipping is a bummer. Mine isn't as expensive. $145 for me. So $435 total for shipping. Ouch. Plus the import tax on top of that. Double ouch.

Not at all. You always have to pay custom fees unless using DHL or UPS.
I know you have multiple warehouses around the world,that's how I got my Simon Belmont. Though I don't remember where it shipped from.

I think shipping cost has been on the rise and normally companies who ship out in thousands seem to get a better corporate deal with the shipping companies. Might not be easy to strike a deal for reasonable price

Konami no longer has the license for hk. They would have to repurchase it. They would basically just be throwing a bunch of money away to satisfy gamer nostalgia- assuming there are no conflicting interests with the license now in the first place.

I pre ordered the essential edition, & I'm really happy with the new sculpt, & neon stealth version, but I'm dissapointed with the new gun. Socom or original gun for me. Having a random gun he doesn't use ruins the whole reason for trying to make it closer to game accuracy.

Trying to force a Socom lookalike is weird.

I'm one person, & a bunch feel happy about the gun change, but I'm allowed to have my say :D

You are definitely allowed to have your say and you aired your views nicely. I cant say that i am 100% happy with the change but I am definitely happy that they did because it is closer to the socom though it is not game accurate.

people that chose 11 over 8 in that poll are blind. Reason why you can't always trust the customer and let the artist do their job. 11 makes her viewing rather narrow from the front, where with 8 you could view her from the side which works way better with wolf and Sniper at the same time.

That said i'm not sure if I want another crouching statue.

Hey guys. Newbie here!

I have the solid snake ex pre ordered (day one) and couldn’t be happier. The new sculpt and ‘f4fcom’ really do make it perfect for me.

I’ve had a couple of statues before I pre ordered snake but he’s responsible for me completely refocusing my collection and moving more towards high end statues and away from my usual 1:6 fifures.
