Is it possible to fix the scratches on this piece? Or does it require a new coat of Chrome? Anyone ever rechrome one and know the costs? Or it impossible to repair it?

Probably not worth it.

Oh, and change the title, thought this was a new bust coming out.

Curious what do you think this is worth?

Thought the Terminator 2 T-800 Bust that are Chrome actually go for decent money?

Is it one of the non-BD SWS pieces?

Not worth it to get them redone

Go for it. Curious to see how re-chroming turns out. It's your piece. Don't let douches tell you what's worth it or not to do.

Such a shame these recent storms seem to miss people we wouldn't miss...

It's the none battle damage version, original chromed one from Sideshow.

I'm going to see I really would like to get a nice chrome finish and see it turned out, if I do it I will post results on here.

Spray on chrome paint does not equal chromed.

I don't think you can chrome to perfection a resin based bust right? Correct me if I am wrong but none of these are actually made out of any kind of metal.

There is a process using metallic powder paint basecoat that conducts electricity then you can electroplate actual metal, problem is loss if detail.

Agreed. Stuff like Alclad will look ok until you touch it. Clear coat it and, bam, no more shiny.

Take a look at the video I posted and you will see it is not chrome paint. Not real chrome either, but far better than chrome paint.

that spray on chrome will not have the vibrance the chrome plate does, you could try to plate it again but you will lose some of the details because you will be recoating it with 3 new layers of metal. I have had it done a few times with plastic using both processes.

Depending on how deep they are I would try to polish it first

Thanks for the input. I kinda decided to just leave it alone or and maybe try to fix it myself in the future.

I honestly like the piece although it has a gap in the teeth that's why I figure it's not worth it also it's an open edition and not limited.

Lol, right.
As stated, spray on chrome like Alclad won't be very vibrant.
Hydrochrome, however, (like the video and link I posted) will be.

I only have first hand experience with the hydrochrome, I can't really speak for the spray on chromes and how vibrant they are.

Here is a resin lion head that was hydrochromed next to a SS real chrome bust, you decide if it is an affordable alternative or just "spray on chrome"...lol

If you don't mind me asking but did you do any additional polishing to your Terminator Head? Also I noticed the teeth did you or someone else paint or touch them up?

This is where I was going to sent it to - creationsnchrome.com - Should I ask them if they just do Spray on Chrome or actual Hydrochrome? Is it safe to assume the only proper way to have something chromes is through the hydrochromed process?

As for the lion, no way do I want my bust to look like that. It would look worse than just having some marks on him like he has now. Who can recommend someone or someplace that can do Hydrochrome on a T-800 head? Is the price reasonable or no?

Thanks in advance

It was a combat vet bust cleaned with acetone.
I painted the teeth.

It is safe to assume that hydrochrome is a cheap alternative to real chrome and you don't loose much detail. It is safe to assume it is more vibrant than spray on chrome.

I believe creations does vac metal? If so that is second best to real chrome IMO.

The lion has been given a black wash.

For all this trouble and cost, I personally would just shell out for a new bust and sell the one you have.
