Our first glimpse of Eomer on Firefoot. I'm not sure when it's coming, but with as ES of 750 I don't expect it to last long.

I'm not sure about the back part of the base as I would prefer the black block to be covered up, but as long as the likeness is there I can live with that. Very nicely done.

Not at all what I was expecting but still looks pretty great. Was hoping for more of a static pose with his spear/staff than something as dynamic as this. Base looks a bit odd. Overall I really like it but not as jazzed as I thought it'd be. Been saving my Weta Dollars for this so I'll likely order as soon as it goes up. I don't think it's going to sell anywhere near as fast as Thranduil but it definitely won't last until next year's BF sale either. Expecting price to be the same as the Mouth of Sauron on Steed.

Definitely not the pose or movie scene (Pelennor Field) I was hoping for, but it looks pretty good all the same. I will be purchasing this, though I find myself not nearly as excited about this one as I was the Mouth of Sauron on Steed or Thrandruil on Elk.

On a side note, having seen some of the additional photo's taken from the Weta Cave I'm really hoping the bug-eyes on Eomer are the result of camera flash, because they don't look good.

Urban has some pretty big eyes though. Looks like him to me, but I agree, need more photos.

Honestly, all I see when I look at this pose is the scene from True Lies with Arnold in the horse on the rooftop.

Thanks for the photo's. Any concerns I had about a bug-eyed Eomer just went out the window. He looks really good in that close up shot.

I am a bit concerned about the paint app's on Firefoot however, as his colouring looks nothing like that of the real horse. At least not in any pictures I've seen so far.

This is a dapple grey stallion.

This is Firefoot, a dapple grey stallion

And this is Weta's version of a dapple grey stallion.

The only thing missing in Weta's statue is a dapple grey stallion named Firefoot. The generic horse they opted to go with does look good though.....:rolleyes2

Sadly, its a pass for me. I like the ES, price is fine and the sculpt itself looks fantastic. But I can't justify paying $700 only to pay someone to repaint the horse so it actually looks like Firefoot.

I love this piece personally. The fact that the markings aren’t exactly like the horse we saw on film doesn’t really bother me. In fact, had you not pointed it out I’d never have noticed.

I'm pretty sure Weta is aware, considering the fact they played such a large role in the movie production. I can't say for sure, but I suspect the complexity of Firefoot's coloring may have been more than Weta was willing to tackle. But as one who is cursed as a stickler to detail, I would no more buy a statue of a horse that doesn't look like the one in the movie, than I would a statue of a movie character that looks nothing like the actor. Now if this one were to fall through the cracks and be available for Black Friday I certainly would reconsider.
