hello everyone!

newbie here. i came across this website and said something about the sterling edition witchblade statues:
http://www.raumhafen.de/cgi-bin/dbman/db.cgi?db=st&uid=default&number=0064&view_records=1
"Actually 200 of then Sterling Edition statues were stolen from customs or during shipping. These have not turned up again so far. But Moore Creations did reproduce these 200 and sold them. All statues from Moore Creations come with certificate of authenticity, the stolen ones don't have a certificate."

does that mean the lost 200 statues are now considered fake/illegal copies?

just wanna know in case i come across someone selling a sterling edition of her.

thanks! :)

From what I remember, the ones that were stolen were just written off as a loss. I never even heard of any of them being found, even after all these years. The replacement statues that were made were identified by the number on the box and the statue by having an "R" followed by the number and the certificate was the same way.
If you do buy one, make sure to check the number and make sure the certificate matches, other than that, it is up to you if you want to buy one of the contraband ones.

did moore studios ever had a reward kind of thing to whoever returned these lost statues; or offered to make these authentic replicas if they were notified that one or some or all of them were found?

moore studios replied to my question as well...

Hello,

I passed your question to Mr. Moore, and he said that the numbers that
were stolen were #1-200, and are considered stolen merchandise by the
FBI.
He is not certain if these stolen items had a certificate of authenticity.
The remanufactured statues have an "R-" followed by the edition number.
Hope that helps!

Take care,

Or Interpol since the FBI has no jurisdiction in Germany.

That is not one of the 200. That is the MINI version of the statue.

I took a glance at the description and it says twice that it is NOT the mini version - once in german and one in english ("Nicht die Mini-Version!!! translates to "Not the mini-version!!" and later on, says in english "no mini version!!"). The writer also says it's from a set of 300. Hope that helps.
