For me, I'm glad SSC is taking chances with different characters. Hopefully, they set the ES correctly and he sells well. With that being said, I have limited shelf space and since I'm saving it for more prominent characters, I will not buy this one. It looks good though.

Poses are somewhat similar, but its a pretty common Spiderman pose, so it's probably more accurate to say it's just happenstance vs taking an existing pose and re-working it.

Otherwise, you could say that about EVERY SIDESHOW PIECE THAT has the Captain Morgan pose with a knee up.

Didn't know this, i don't follow marvel closely but i tend to read stories i've heard good things about, writers that i like or characters that i'm interested in.

I'd just started reading the UC spiderman when you'd made the comment about venoms importance and it being a bit of sad history which was enough for anyone i would think to infer that someone close to spider man dies.

I've been reading Miles' book since it came out and he is a great character but like all good books it has slowed down a bit and the stories are becoming less entertaining.

Great statue though and goes great with SS Spidey. I might just get this if I can use enough reward points or international discounts.

Miles Morales responsible for Marvel Comics decline? Hmm that might be kind of a stretch, he's one of their hottest characters right now in terms of popularity. I for one applaud the diversity movement in Comics. It better reflects the world today IMHO. Also, there is a full length animated movie coming starring this character. That being said, everyone has different tastes in collecting, it's all good folks ebb & flow.

Accuracy is he’s *Biracial Spider-Man;):D since he’s African American and Puerto Rican. And although some Puerto Ricans can pass for African American, Miles most certainly looks more African American though. Now that Spider-Men II is out we can see that was very much on purpose.

I’m displaying miles with XM Venom, Carnage and prime 1 anti venom so his base will fit in. I’ve accepted that all pieces will more than likely have their own unique base and getting “ matched sets “ probably won’t happen or it will be done poorly. Miles can stand alone or tell his story in a group this is cool with me.

For anyone interested in just the collectors edition you can preorder this from midtown comics for about $105 off.

*just go through their FAQ before doing so and make sure you are okay with their order process. From what I can gather it seems they charge upfront for preorders, they attain the ability to adjust preorder pricing, and preorders cannot be cancelled or refunded unless because of a price change in which case they would allow a full refund.

Otherwise this is a great price for the statue. I passed though because of the inability to cancel and them holding my money on an item I wouldn’t get for so many months.

My Review:

It’s an absolute winner imo . Very dynamic from all angles . The paint apps were done very clean yet simple for Miles and the Venom base was a pleasant surprise with metallic sheens and clear resins. It has a very small foot print but overall it gives the collector more spider options in displaying .

Pros:

Pose
Good paint
Easy to assemble
Minimal space required for display

Cons:

Right hand is permanently sculpted in Venoms head
Ex option doesn’t make a lot of sense considering overall piece
Couple visible seams at bottom


Overall I’m very happy . I would have liked his right hand to be mounted to the body of miles permanently but I understand the logic in why it was done to avoid breaking . The minute my brother saw this he said this one is fantastic . It really has a great feel. Sideshow has done an amazing job with this , in reality it’s a 1/4 scale diorama ( 2 characters interacting telling a story ) because that’s what this is . Thor will be same idea. Congrats to those getting this . It’s a sleeper hit!!!

Those metal pegs are a real bummer though right? I don't know why Sideshow continues to use them when magnets are vastly superior. I had similar assembly issues with my Wonder Woman PF -- sold it for those same reasons.

So at last I was able to open up my box and I am pretty happy with this PF. Everything on mine came out great! Even the base I am finally liking, after not being a fan of it. As for both editions being waitlisted, I think ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ had something to do with it. It was a great animated film to see in theaters, in my opinion! There’s a lot of love out there for Miles.

Btw, when I opened my package, the base had tons of white dust. Luckily, it was easy to take off but did anyone else have that problem or was it just me? Just curious, nothing more.

My main gripe was that I feel Miles shares this PF with Ultimate Venom, but I’m a big fan of Miles, there’s no way I wouldn’t love this. The paint on Ult. Venom is very nice. Miles looks great. The unmasked head looks great. They made a cool looking statue and that’s what matters.

Miles is a teen so he should be small but this definitely feels like the 14/15 year old Miles still in the Ultimate U as opposed to the 16/17 year old he is in the current comics because he looks tiny next to Spidey, not just the pose, but in proportions. Since he’s on Ultimate Venom I guess that makes sense, he fought him as a younger teen.

My main gripe now is he’s definitely grey instead of the costume being black but I assume it was for lighting reasons since there’s no shading on his body, I guess it’s easier to see the little bit of costume details that are there with him being grey and not black.

Anyway, Miles is one of my most favorite characters and this statue does him justice. For years I’ve been wanting a Miles and this delivered. I’m extremely happy.

I just ordered a collectors edition from sideshows site with $72 in points and payments each month for the next 3 months. The total came out to $532. The glossy paint along with a small footprint finally sold me on it. Excellent pose. The bulk of my sideshow collection is mainly from the days of the $300-$400 PF’s so it’s harder for me to get used to and order these days but I’ll be happy once it arrives I’m sure.

the paint on it is top notch. one of sideshows best
