I dunno the price never really got that high on the first one anyway. While I like what I see I think the first one will still go better with the OG set and I def like the first Superman more and most likely will like Batman more too. If it's not at least classic inspired it's not for me.

I'm not opposed to upgrading when I feel the need but still a lot left to see. Fingers crossed for no doggie bowl bases.

It does look pretty classic to me as well, need to see the breast plate and boots but I'd argue the panties are more classic looking than the OG.

I was close to settling for Prime 1's Nu52 version; but as much I like their use of translucent resin, I was concerned it wouldn't pair as well with the Cheetah PF.

I really like the base on the P1 and am glad the face sculpt looks more mature/expressive than the Finch art it's based on. I can't judge from the few images we've seen so far whether I'd actually buy it as a standalone piece or just to compliment the rest of the Nu52 line. Given all the complaints leveled at it, P1 will likely tweak it just as I've warmed to it.:p

The warrior heritage is also a modern conceit. She's a demigod raised by the Amazons, not an Amazon herself. She's also been skilled at combat, but even the original challenges she completed to become Earth's ambassador (of peace) weren't war-like in nature.

You might be happy to know Harbottle worked on Sideshow's Power Girl as well :D(I think he revised Mark Newman's original sculpt.)

Belt is all wrong for Capullo's Batman. Based on the belt design I can see in the preview pic, it looks almost exactly like David Finch's Batman costume. Check out the Bat suit on his Dark Knight run. Belt is almost an exact match. If this is a Finch Batman, I'm all in.

Capullo has also drawn/designed two other Batman belts (not including Jim Gordon Bats) from Nu52 to Rebirth. The ribbing was a general Nu52 (likely more associated with Jim Lee than Capullo anyway.) I admitted to not seeing the scratches initially, but I wouldn't count on a singular artist interpretation for this Batman. Sideshow borrows elements from several interpretations unless it's an artist-specific series. If Wonder Woman is any indication, they aren't following the Rebirth designs to a T either.

Based on this angle alone I'd say this is the best 1/4 WW we've ever seen. the original had an awkward pose and man face. this blows it out of the water. I hope they went above and beyond and added multiple display options with the sword and shield. definitely wouldn't be a deal breaker though.

If this one had a sword in her left hand and shield on the right they would all look very similar.
I think it's a good pose. Dynamic without being over the top.

The only thing that can mess this up is the base. They better not do some ugly silver JLA theme thing.

I went back to compare the first WW promo art shot with this one and I still don't know which one I like more.
Comparing the two art promos is a better comparison than this promo to the first production piece.

The shield is way too fancy to be carried into battle. It looks like something that should be hanging on a wall as a trophy, not an actual armament.

The only piece of the statue that could look cheap is the lassi depending on the matieral used. But the Plus is that part is easy to customize

Especially with female sculpts There are minor distortions that can happen with a print, and then there is a shrinkage of about 3% from Proto to casted production piece. Now if that shrinkage isn't isn't consistent across the whole portrait for any reason then there will be a minor distortion, and believe it or not all it takes is a 1/16 of an inche and the entire feel of the portrait can change. Heck gorgeous portraits can turn simply "meh" with just the smallest of changes. That's why it's best to wait for the production version to come out before ordering.. look at the WW Movie PF it original had a pretty good looking portrait (although nothing like gadot) but the production picture which someone posted the other day looked pretty bad...

It's natural to compare two different pieces, but I don't think it's fair to compare them under completely different conditions.

One statue has only been seen in not so favorable lighting conditions, while the other has been partially revealed in a professionally done photo.

Personally I think both look good, but they also need full reveals.

I thought that too, even without similar costumes, I still think this cuts the Gal Gadot PF off at it's knees with it's vague likeness to the actress. Meanwhile the portrait on this piece is killer.

As for the necklace, I think they would design one onto ANY design of her with this pose. It would be a nightmare to ship and protect from breakage if her head wasn't separate. It's not like the "Gal Gadot" Wonder Woman where her head is more down and covered by hair to hide the seam.

I love how much color and design this piece has! So much more than their first Wonder Woman. Hopefully the vibrant colors don't get lost from Proto to Prod.

I suspect what's happening with BvS Wonder Woman is a humbling wake up moment, or they wouldn't be as amenable about refunds as they've been, even restoring rewards points used.
