Kingdom Come Alex Ross Statues

I'm a big fan of the series and was wondering what you guys would think of a continuation of the Superman (The Man of steel) and Captain Marvel (The World's Mightiest Mortal) color statues for some of the other prominent characters.

The current "group" statues are crap. No offense to anyone that likes them but I think they are not worth the cash.

The $150 price should be alright if the sculpt is good. Although these should be priced closely to $99 since they are more like the current JL maquettes. It would also be nice for them to continue the gold plaques displaying the "title" of the character instead of the name. "The Amazon Princess" for Wonder Woman, "The Dark Knight" for Batman, "The Fastest Man Alive" for The Flash...you get the point. I don't know what Red Robin's would say... :peoples:

2006 is the 10th anniversary of this series and hope they would do something like this.

what does everybody think of the statues they are making right now? i thought they would be better in person when i ordered my first one, but ummmmmmmm no i don't think they are better in person. i am now deciding on getting the second in the series.

what are other peoples thoughts on this one? and does anybody know how many they are making in this series?

I have the full size Kingdom Come Shazam that is custom painted. I'm waiting to do the same with the Superman. I like the full size statues but hate the monochrome finish.

Anything Shazam is awesome. I like the older Superman with darker colors and restyled "S". But not sure about an Alex Ross continuation line. Kingom Come was long time ago and while he is an excellent painter, I just don't see the need for more of this line.

I was excited at the prospect of the new line...until I saw how small they were and that you had to get 3 characters at a time.

To suck that cash from the Ross Machine is why this is ongoing. I had the Superman mono-chrome but Ebay'ed it. I just dropped DC all together after that. In order for me to get a DC piece again, it's going to have to floor me. I find DC too overpriced.

Yeah, DC is all over Ross nowadays. I figure this would make a great series of statues especially while the whole Justice comic is going on. You get his take on the JLA in comic form and his future take in an almost maquette-like line. These would sell very well or at least better than the current group statues that do not seem to be getting much attention.

Which characters would you guys rather see first? Someone mentioned Spectre already, any other favorites?

I would make it a point to release at least 3 per year with one big hitter (Batman, WW, Flash, Hawkman, Red Robin and Green Lantern) as one of the three. I would love to see at least Starman, Deadman, The Ray, Von Vach, Green Arrow, Avia, Nightstar and Captain Atom. There are so many visually well designed characters in this series that is hard to make the list short.

welcome to the forum buddy, look at my avatar i want a hal and ollie. and spectre, darkseid, mr terrific, sandman, atom smasher, captain cold, ice version top lol, lobo, basically any JSA member, drakon, onomanopia(sp.) , shado, i agree with you there are so many characters out there.

Sorry, I deleted all the good photos. This is all I have handy. I got it off ebay and really lucked out. I'm picky as #@!! but I'm very pleased with this one. The paint is perfect and the gold on the cape looks like satin!!

well from what i could see it looks great. i have been meaning to get the smaller painted ones of superman and shazam. i have two of the full size superman though one chrome colored and the other the custom paint, so have been "iffy" if i need another of the smaller one.
