I thought the "80's" version was one of his choices or is the animated series considered the "80's" version?

I don't mind the Super Powers suit, but it might look really similar to Lex Luthor's suit.

I know he said 1980s, but I couldn't find anything from the 80s other than the Super Powers action figure. I assumed Chad meant Batman TAS based on his description (pink goggles).

And no, no Otto Preminger.

Animated Series gets my vote for sure...but a slightly more modern-ish look would be okay, too. ...maybe a more detailed TAS design. Not feeling the Super Powers look.

I’m fine with BTAS or Modern. If it’s modern, they need to leave out that stupid rat tail, hair thing on his head. Looks like something Jim Lee added on.

I think BTAS version will fit really well with the Superpowers line. Anything other than superpowers look will be good tbh.

Def not BTAS I love that costume but makes no sense in this line

The second pic is very similar to animated costume but tweaked in such a great way. That’s my choice

He's talking about this:

Blue and white, round helmet, pink glasses and pink gun.

You might want to include that since that's what he's wanting to go with. It's the 3rd one in the "Evolution of Mr. Freeze" illustration above.

I'm sorry, but I would definitely not buy 1979 Mr. Freeze.

Gonna have to create a new poll and have this one deleted.

I think BTAS look is the most iconic Mr. Freeze look. We got Harley in her animated look so why not Mr. Freeze?

No1WonderFan
01-31-2019, 07:22 PM
I think all the others look way too modern compared to what we have. I like the direction Chad is going with 80s Freeze.

Gothamite

Chad wants to know if we want:

1) 1979 Mr. Freeze

https://i.postimg.cc/7ZbDN3mN/1979-Mr-Freeze.jpg

2) Super Powers Mr. Freeze

3) something "modern" but done in a retro way
(Basically anything post Batman TAS.)

Honestly, I will only buy Mr. Freeze if it looks something close to BTAS look. If it looks like #1 and #2, I won’t buy it. If Harley can be in her animated look, so can Mr. Freeze.

Well, I don't think #2 looks bad, but Chad said in the live feed that he doesn't like it. It is the actual "Super Powers" costume, though, lol.

I would kinda want the Super Powers costumes in a Super Powers line. I'll be sad if we don't get option 2, to be honest. We got the Catwoman from that era, and I've bought all the others because they feel right out of the Bronze Age.

I don’t like the shape of the dome for the superpowers costume. If it was more round, I think it would have looked better.

I'm not sure that I'm buying many, if any, villains.

That being said, I'll definitely buy him if he's BTAS-ish (Option #3) style.

I totally understand if people want #2 to fit in with the Super Powers theme. If that's the case, I'll just pass on him with no hard feelings.

Definitely TAS...I'd be fine if they tweaked it though...add a more modern touch to it.

My primary concern with the Super Powers suit is that it might look similar to Lex Luthor's body armor.

I am on the same boat. I wouldn’t be bitter if they go with the other looks. I simply won’t buy him if that is the case. I won’t be too sad about not having Mr. Freeze in my collection. It’s just that this will unexpectantly become a must-buy if he has something like the BTAS look.

I’d buy this one. Besides, I have the 1/6 scale Mr Freeze from Mondo on preorder. Need a version that hasn’t been done.

Agreed. And I certainly don't want a random animated version or modern version mixed with what we've already gotten. It's definitely better than the godawful Super Powers re-design that didn't last.

These are the Mr Freeze options!?!?

The Animated version is pretty bad. There’s nothing to it. The 1979 looks pretty bad wayyyyyy too boring. I wouldn’t want a statue of either of those.

I think the Super Powers version and it’s silly over the top costume wouod look the best in statue form. If it had a nice modern realistic touch with refined features not as cheesy looking...that one is the winner.

I’m gonna see how this plays out. But if Chads thinking about the 1979 fish bowl freeze with minimal detail and gadgets I’m gonna get outta this line now.

Def BTAS style but tweaked . I love the possibility of that look with clear resin ice and it has the most iconic dome . This could be killer if the detailing is like joker and Harley etc

Apologies, everyone. When I created the first thread, I honestly searched for "1980s Mr. Freeze" bc that is what Chad said in the video. I didn't realize he meant 1979 Mr. Freeze, which shocked me bc it doesn't look like it would go with the other statues so far. :o

Tough to say, he mentioned that they started work on other characters but abandoned them when we complained too much about the one leg up pose. I imagine Freeze might be a similar situation.

Not even close to Iron Giant come on now it’s best middle ground we have . It can’t be ultra modern the others are too old in look. The actual super powers freeze that had those hideous ice guns coming out of his waist is so bad . This would translate well into a statue . Some metallic paint , resin , tubes a cool gun . Viola a master piece

Those guns are silly agreed. But it doesn’t have to completely accurate to the 80’s figure. I think it should be based on the 80’s figure, with a modern tweak here and there making it the best version of Freeze possible.

Yeah, can't say I'm into this suit. It needs that blue/grey scheme. I'd rather have the second one you posted in the other thread...which I wouldn't mind.

Honestly, I'm not all that worried about it completely fitting in with the rest of the line, as long as it's not way out there. I just want a bad ass Mr. Freeze. For me, that's something along the lines of TAS...probably modernized to some degree...added details and what not.

Subby1938

Yeah I’m down that picture is reference to a nice suit but colours can be manipulated using metallic blues etc, and I want detail to remain in sculpts like with joker . Consistent high detail in Bat villains to keep them uniform . I’d hate see this guy turn out to be a cartoon and joker & Harley are very detailed

Harley is also based on the animated style. If tweeterhead do make BTAS version of Mr. Freeze, I am sure it will not look like a cartoon and will be designed to have the similar style as the rest. I actually think overly complex design will stick out like a sore thumb in the superpowers line, where most characters’ costumes are really simple.

I decided to vote for the Super Powers costume, mostly because that's the costume from the time period being used. The BTAS costume will be made as a statue by someone eventually, even if it's a Diamond Gallery PVC. I mean, they were already halfway there with the resin bust. :)

Not sure why we need multiple polls here trying to achieve the same thing? Merging and locking these down. If you want a poll and/or discussion thread re-do it. Nether of these look right.
