I knew about it dor a while already but decided to post here:

-Directed by: John Singleton

-Writing credits: Ben Ramsey

And it is scedulaed to be released sometime in 2006.

So far the people I have heard that will be casted for Luke Cage are:

-Michael Clarke Duncan
-Shawn Wayans

I think out of those 2 Shawn Wayans looks like him though :)

Michael Clarke Duncan would be a huge Cage. I think they need someone smaller - more tiger Cage than elephant Cage.

Nah most likely not, It would be hella funny if he is chosen to actually play Black Panther though. But I remember hearing a different actor for him.

I'm not saying I want him in the role, but let's face it - this is Hollywood we're talking about.

I saw him as Mark Anthony in the last run of Julius Ceasar on Broadway (denzel was brutus). That cat can command a stage as good if not better than denzel. He would make an excellent panther.

Singleton isn't the man for this though. Would you not prefer an actor to an footballer turned actor. How about Laurence Fishburne?

Haha The Rock....

So far I remember he was offered the role for Sub-Mariner MOvie or Silver Surfer.

Ill try to dig out the info now and post it too.

Chris Columbus, one of the producers of the Fantastic Four film who also so happens to be directing Sub-Mariner.

you can read the article about Rock and Silver Surfer here:

http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/587/587685p1.html

According to Dark Horizons, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson might be reuniting with Universal Pictures and Scorpion King producer Kevin Misher for the big-screen version of Marvel Comics' The Sub-Mariner.

The site claims The Rock is "attached" to star as Prince Namor, the surly amphibian anti-hero who not only fights to protect his underwater kingdom but the hated surface world as well.

I think Michael Jai White would make a pretty cool Cage. Not the greatest of actor, but I was watching Exit Wounds (out of boredom!) the other week and dudes built like him.

Maybe they can get Jason Stratham as his partner Iron Fist. lol

As for Panther, I see Djimon Hounsou playing him. He sure looks exotic enough.

Yeah, I know. That's why I laughed at the end of my statement.

That's movies been talked about forever though. Is it even in production yet? What's taking so long?

Epps or Diggs would do well, have to pump up a bit.

Duncan would have to lay off the juice, and trim,....slim.......ahhhhh, get more
ripped. Not look like the guys that would pull trains and stuff.

Did anyone see "Shaft"?????
As much as I'd like to see another GOOD superhero movie. I can't imagine what the storyline would be.........and they would just put him in black leather
so visually it would...... :puke2:

I say,do a 'period piece'. VERY 70's and give him the chains-yellow shirt.
VERY retro feel.

The Rock is todays version of Hogan when he did movies. Him as Namor would suck

If Samuel Jackson can be a Jedi or Shaft, then he should be Cage too! Forget Nick Fury. He doesn't look the part.

The Role for Nick Fury is already given to Bruce Willis.

But the Rock For Namor, he looks the part anyways and he is here from Hawaii so he has that ocean feel.

It was either Namor or the Silver Surfer, I think he is still not sure on which he will be doing though.

I was thinking about an Iron Fist/Power Man movie while I was watching DOA recently.

Do you guys think that they should make independant Power Man and Iron Fist films or just put both of them together in one.

Casting?

Luke Cage...Tyrese Gibson
Iron Fist...Ray Park
Misty Knight...Gabrielle Union
Colleen Wing...Devon Aoki

Yeah, and make it kind of like a blaxploitation/Bruce Lee film from the 70's. Then it'd be hella cool!

According to IMDB there's a Luke Cage movie directed by John Singleton set for 2009 w/ Tyrese Gibson in talks to play LC. I would take this with a grain of salt.
