Exactly. They typically have taken animated and comic characters and did them in a realistic style to fit in with the movie characters like Savage Opress, Asajj Ventress and Darth Malgus. They haven’t done any animated PFs so far.

My guess is that it will be the "animated version" but will not look like a cartoon character.

Basically, expect it to look like if they took animated Ahsoka and transformed her into a real character rather than having it look like Rosario Dawson.

Which honestly for me is good. Nothing against Rosario Dawson but she's had like 10 minutes of screen time as the character so far - Rebels Ahsoka is what I want.

No lie - the Ahsoka statue potential has been sorely neglected for a long time. Heck I even bought the Gentle Giants statue they came out with even though I really didn't like the sculpt because at the end of the day it was Ahsoka and there were no other options.

I don't know why they chose Ventress either, but I'm SO glad they did.

I love her character, and I immediately sold SS's original PF they did for her when this was announced.

She's not my favorite Star Wars character, but she is probably in my top 10 and she just does NOT get any merch or focus in media. So when she does, I'm always sure to take notice.

Just got back from Galaxy's Edge in Disney World a couple weeks ago. Had to pick up her saber for sure. Not sure why they didn't sell hers as a set like they do Ahsoka's but it is what it is.

No that the Ahsoka PF has been announced (and assuming it turns out well) the only other 3 Star Wars statues I'd flip my ---- if they made would be Thrawn, Revan, and HK-47. All my Star Wars statue dreams would be fulfilled if we got those 3 lol.

Exactly, which is why I think we will see the proto on Wednesday... the PF reveal they are referring to for the light side of the force. Still not sure what the dark side reveal will be though for Thursday.

My only problem is that I don't like hand using a force push. Kind of a distraction. Much rather have her with holding both sabers like that scene when she beat both inquisitors.

Neither the eyes nor the lips are animated looking to me, so for me it looks like a more realistic version of the Rebels Ahsoka. Beyond that, I'd guess they tried to avoid having her look like a simple human female in Ahsoka cosplay paint, or even worse, an attempted Rosario likeness.

I think you mean not being Clone Wars. While I have nothing against that particular outfit (I don't mind more skin showing), I don't really want everything that comes along with it (tween Ahsoka, large eyes, short montrals etc.).

Wanting the Mando version as the first PF foray to me makes no sense. My only explanation is its wanted by people who only know Ahsoka from that show which is all of 2 episodes. While I think Mando did an outstanding job showing an older Ashoka as a first PF way more people want her at that mid point of end of the clone wars and beginning of Rebels.

Closest I can see is the top half leans more realistic in the animation/realism combination... while the lower half seems to lean more animated in the proportions.

yeah when it comes to ahsoka you really cant go wrong unless youre talking early years CW "snips" but i would rank her looks CW s4-7 > rebels > mando

It's fine but I've never much cared for her rebels appearance... that huge plate on her chest looks goofy to me. It's not fitted, it doesn't attach to anything... it's just like they glued a dog bowl on there and called it good. Easy pass for me, especially having the Hot Toys Clone Wars Ahsoka on PO, but certainly nice to have more Ahsoka on the market.

Honestly if the dumb round armour Puck could be taken off I might consider it, I think the tunic itself looks pretty sharp.

Often, a proto will appear vibrant then the production piece comes and the colour is washed out or over simplified. This won’t be the case with this piece. The shade work is not difficult. There is no complex musculature to capture or accentuate. The skin tone is, to be honest, quite simple. Skin tones get complicated when there are variations such as red in the cheeks. This piece won’t have that.

For me, the "realism" in the portrait is at odds with the overal "cartoon" style of the piece....this is a missed opportunity for Sideshow I think.

It's not a disgusting piece, and for fans of the character (cartoon / real) this could be a great addition to your collection.

Well, she is supposed to be the same person. But I get you like the younger non-live action portrait which was introduced first, I have the same view on some comic statues. But with the expansion of the SWU into Disney+ maybe there will even be a flashback sequence of she may appear as her younger self or even cameo in other shows. If not, then money saved : P I have way too many PFs anyway, lol. Most of them are still in storage.

Either way, I will be happy since this one just doesn't go with my current display. I will look forward to seeing pics of her in other collections though.

Actually, Ahsoka has transitioned into live action. She was on Disney+ in the Mandalorian.

I like this one, just won’t go with my collection which is mostly live action PFs and 1/2 scale pieces. I did photoshop her next to my Shaak Ti, Darth Maul and Darth Talon PFs, but she looks out of place.

I am sure they will make a live action version at a later date.

Not sure, I got her directly from SSc. She is a great piece. Goes well with OG Darth Maul Ex and Shaak Ti Ex.

I think Annakin was assisted greatly and made more sympathetic in the series. In 1-3 he was kind of whiny to me and his switch over felt like a story necessity rather than organic telling.

I've liked Vader from the beginning and his scenes at the end of Jedi on the Death Star are among my favourite in the series. "You were right" always hits hard as to a broken tragic man.

I didn't feel that build up until CW and seeing the bonds he had with others. In Rebels when he fights Ahsoka and she calls him Annakin it has emotional weight for those that knew him before he became the monster in metal.

I am curious how the Obi-Wan series handles those characters as by New Hope clear all is lost between them with Kenobi simply calling him "Darth".

I just find your reasoning of "this looks too cartoonish" rather weird considering that the Shaak-Ti and Talon are going to look even more jarring next to a Rosario sculpt. Again, buy what you want. If you don't like the way it looks, don't get it obviously. I just personally think you're going to be sorely disappointed if you think a psuedo Rosario sculpt (because let's face it, the face will not look right) is going to look better with the Talon, Maul, and Shaak-Ti is all.

Oh for SURE. There's none on eBay right now, but the last time I saw one it was opened and going for like $2400. I snagged mine off of a seller on the sideshowfreaks forums. Don't get me wrong, I paid a LOT for it. More than I really should have. But if I sold it today for the last price I saw, I'd STILL come out with some major profit. That statue and the OG Obi-wan mythos have skyrocketed in value over the last couple years.

My reasoning of looking too cartoonish was merely to state that it would not fit with my current display as I wrote in my post. And you are absolutely right about it being my preference, and hence my prerogative.

I never mentioned I was definitely going get one with a Rosario sculpt. I would need to re-evaluate if one is released, since I am pretty happy with my current display options. So don’t worry, I will not be disappointed. I still have about 3/4 of my collection boxed.

Sideshow always do things like this, they certainly know how to drive in the FOMO to get the order secured while the interest and excitement is high. In reality, it's unlikley you'll ever miss out on anything they produce these days. You can generally wait until they ship and still secure them easily. I started doing this years ago and it's saved me a fortune. I find that as much as I like some stuff, once that initial excitement is over, I look at them more logically than emotionally and often decide to pass.

Exactly, plus there's usually something else out by then which I'd rather have more. My days of rushing in are long gone and it works well for me. But obviously we all have different ways of doing things which is fine. I'll admit that I kind of miss the days of getting excited and ordering stuff on day one, but then they were WAY cheaper back then and we could be a bit more care free and do that kind of thing impulsively. Not so much now when the last statue I've ordered (Prime 1 Jungle hunter) Is $3k to my door....

Me to, i believe alot of that fun in pre-ordering day one was knowing that if you didn't pre-order right away there's a very good chance in the next few hours or days that the statue would be wait listed , because like you said it was alot cheaper back then with no nrds so people bought alot more then now , where people are not pre-ordering every little thing that is listed that catches there eye and such because of nrds and increased prices..!

Remember back in the day when they had priority pre-order where they would shut down the entire site except for the pre-order, I can't quite remember if that was just before my time in collecting sideshow or i got to be a part of it . My 1st pre-order from them was back in like 2009 or just around that time
