Hey was just wondering if anybody had a release date on these? I went to the website but all they had to tell me was they would be released in October. Just wondering if anyone had a day for me.

Anybody getting excited for this line besides me?

You know... the flipper in me is thinking I might pick up a couple of the Harry Potters and Sirus Black busts... 2000 and 1500 edition sizes respectively... with millions and millions of fans around the world... might be able to make some Boba Fett size profit off these busts...

Dementor and Doby have been announced for April. Haven't heard a date on any other new busts or statues.

but knowing gentle giant, It would take a year or 2 before they put out full size statues, take for example their star wars license. After they put out about 15-20 busts, that's when they statrted making full size stats, and to think it's a star wars franchise.

For harry potter? just give me the 3 main characters, there's no way I'm getting full size of other characters :confused2 I'll just settle for their representation on busts :)

My stock arrived last week, so you'll be getting them anytime. They are amazing. Gentle Giant is definitely the best at human characters...almost a dead-on likeness. I say almost because there are always some people who find faults. :) Why can't other companies get human characters right?

The Potter busts looks GREAT in person. The GG offcial's pics. simply sucks. And I think it's in scale as the SW ones. The difference is that they extended the bust a bit so they look taller than the SW or Buffy busts.

Yeah...if you are a fan...get them. Got the Snape & Dumbledore instock last week and they look awesome. Great job by GG on these pieces! :buttrock:

I have to agree. My kids are huge fans so it was a great excuse to pick up the Dumbledore and Snape buts and they are awesome.

Well, they arrived this morning, and as promised here's some pics. They're taller than the Sirius and the Harry, but they're not at all out of scale. As far as I can make out, they just begin below the waistline, where as the others begin at the waistline...if that makes any sense.

The Snape, I always knew was going to be great but I was very surprised with the Dumbledore. The detail in his outfit is really quite stunning.

I still think it's strange how they are very limited for the huge franchise that is Harry Potter. Harry is limited to only 2000, while the others are limited to 1500! With 3 more movies to go, I'm sure these sill soar in price. I'm not selling mine though. :P

Have you tried Suncaost? I know they'll be at full retail price but they might have them in stock.

don't forget about the comic con exclusice sirius black bust too. same pose different paint job. i got both, and can't really say which one i like best either, they are both great.

That death eater one is awesome looking! I would think they would be doing alot of the main characters first but it looks like they are following the form they set with their star wars line. Alot of main star wars people have still yet to be made into busts. I thought for sure they would have been coming out with Hermione, Ron, and Hagrid soon. Yeah, I'd hope so. Along with Ron, Hermione & Hagrid I also would love to see a Professor McGonagal & Lucious Malfoy too. :)

The first picture I saw online of Nearly Headless Nick, the whole bust was a ghostly shade of blue. I prefer that to the flesh tone they have given to a ghost. Doesn't make sense to me. I do like the more dynamic cape on the new version.

Uh Oh, I smell a variant which means an exclusive somewhere! I REALLY prefer that transparent one, it looks great. If they don't offer this version then I think Nearly Headless Nick will be the first Harry Potter bust I pass on. :banghead:

This is why I haven't started collecting these. I'd hate to buy a bunch and then have them cancel the line without doing Ron or Hermione. I know that is unlikely given the popularity of the movies, but you never know.
The flip side of this is waiting until they do Hermione and Ron and then having to pay huge prices for the ones I missed...

O...but onto harry potter...most retailers are sold out as far as I can tell. You may get lucky instore at a Suncoast or something like that, but otherwise...well...Ebay.
