Bowen DD FS vs. Attakus DD FS - which is better?

Howdy folks! Here is today's question:
Bowen Yellow Daredevil Statue vs. Attakus Yellow Daredevil Statue:

Anybody have both, and which looks better or which do you prefer?

I like the yellow suit best, and to me both statues look fantastic!
I give the edge to Attakus for the more dynamic pose by far.
But having never seen either in person, I'm just going by the pictures.

I just got my BD one today and its one of the best ones from Bowen. I've seen the attakus one in person and its much bigger than BD scale. I also think there is a version with flames on the base (maybe the red one). Both are excellent. I guess its down to scale and which better fits your collection.

I have the red DD FS,but I've seen the yellow one from Bowen and the 2 ones from Attakus.Attakus are bigger and great sculpts ,but in my opinion DD from Bowen is absolutely the best :)

I like the bowen daredevil cause of the base. I think it looks like daredevil looking down on the city from atop of a building.

I've only ever seen the Red Attakus DD and never seen the Bowen in person before. The Attakus is much larger and has the more dynamic pose. The red version has a very cool looking firebase as well. Why they would go to so much effort just to the turn around and use lollypop sticks for his billy club I just do not understand. Kills the entire piece for me. Too thin, too white. I mean he doesn't advertise he's blind.

Bowen wins yet again (in the Bowen Designs forum).

I dont much like either one of them... I saw the red attakus one and must admit it was quite nice. If I would have to choose I would say attakus dd.

The Attakus looks pretty good (better than a lot of their stuff), but for me, the Bowen version wins.

This is THE piece that made me a hard-core Bowen fan. I hate to date myself, but this is the costume DD wore when I first discovered him around issue #4 of his original series.

I was walking through the San Diego convention center in 1998 on set-up day of Comic Con and happened to be passing the Bowen Designs booth just as Randy was setting up both the red and yellow DD FS prototypes in the display case. The sight of the yellow version stopped me dead in my tracks. I immediately went over and talked at length with Randy about it, and his other pending Marvel pieces. I lost count of how many times during the course of the next 4 days I returned to the Bowen booth to look at it again. I placed my order with LCS for both versions as soon as I returned home. I've bought everything Randy's made since.

And, gone back and filled in a lot of his earlier stuff.

The Yellow DD standing not posing for an attack is the better one for the base alone. Im guessing it is the Bowen statue as I can hardly imagine the other being a bowen with the base as plain as it is.

I mean, Marvel Comics is either seen as a joke or children's reading in most parts of Europe. When I travelled through Europe some years back, I stopped by as many comic shops as I could. With the exception of the English speaking countries, most often I found the Marvel/DC comics either sitting in a box by the floor or resting on lowers shelves.

Maybe that's changed now since the Marvel movies have made its comics more fashionable but it was like that in many of the places I visited in the lates 90s.

Something about the Attakus style leaves me somewhat cold. I've sold all my pieces (except the Spirit of Spiderman) as they tended to stand out for all the wrong reasons. While the poses and intents of design are generally sound, the finished product tends to lack some detail and look plasticky. The costly price tag doesn't help matters either.

Well, for me Bowen's version is best DD statue out there period. His best statue to date; manages to capture the character perfectly.

Bowen's Daredevil has a presence that can't be duplicated. Not HH's (only because it's an action pose) and SS couldn't capture that presence like that.

BD's can be easily duplicated... it's just a standing pose... Dont get me wrong... It's a great statue... but it has been beaten by the HH DD... And to sit there and SS cant capture it youre nuts... SS has some amazing talent!

SS doesn't make museum poses for the most part. Most museum pieces have a presence that action poses can't match. So, Bowen wins.
