I know both my UPS and FedEx delivery guys on a first name basis; they do stop by alot. :) I don't usually tip them everytime they come over but I do take care of them very nicely at Christmas time. This summer while I was away both were really cool and dropped off my packages around the block at my parents so I did give them a little something for that. These guys are cool, they work very hard and they deserve a little extra. Even though both UPS and FedEx mishandle their packages terribly I'm certain it's done before they get into most delivery guy's hands. I've never seen mine mishandle a package.

At least that's the way it works for me. They never leave it on my doorstep.

i always make sure the dude gets either a huge batch of cookies (he really likes mrs fields stuff) and the girl gets $$. says cookies add to much weight to her.

I hook up my postman as well at christmas with a nice bottle of something

i have had a few that they leave me a note saying they will try tomorrow. and if they won't leave it the next day i just leave them a not saying i will come pick it up. i'm lucky though it's not very far to my ups.

My UPS guy is gone before I can get to the door to even thank him. Otherwise, when I'm not home, the package is left by the front door. If the package requires a signature then they try 3 times before I have to go to the UPS office to sign for it.

I'm guessing some here have salaried jobs that provide for some type of bonuses and regularly scheduled increases in pay. I'm assuming your salary should be enough and the bonus isn't required (e.g. tips).

Have you all experienced "tip jars" at the drive thru window yet?

And speaking of Drive thru windows ( I hope this doesn't hijack the thread completely...)

Do you guys pull up when they ask you too? I never do! Even when there is NO ONE else in line, they bust out the.."pull up to that pole, and once your fries are ready I will bring them out to you"... Its all because of the sensor timing how long the car waits for food...they need to keep it to a 20-40 second wait time. Next time they ask you to pull up, say "no thank you" and see their reaction! PRICELESS i tell you!

I'd rather not. It would encourage my guy to keep telling me some pretty weird F'd up stories. Actually I should just so he stops doing that...

I hardly ever see the delivery guy,if I do all I see is him jumping back in the truck and speeding away. They usually just leave the package on the porch unless there is a signature required. If I'm not home the mailman usually stops back at the end of his route to see if anyone is there yet.

My current UPS guy is a HUGE Marvel fan.

Goes out of his way to make sure I get my packages. If I'm not home at the time, he'll leave his cell # on the slip. I usually pass by the house during work. I'll call him and meet him where ever he is on his route.

He also writes what statue/bust I'm getting on the slip (it usually says what it is on the the packing label). This leads into a 15 minute discussion about the character.

It's nice to know there are Marvel Zombies out there!
