#59 arrived in the frozen land today. What a great sculpt! I'm a little underwhelmed by the paint. Alot more muted than I thought it would be. This piece has such an enormous amount of detail a paintmaster could really take this over the top and truly turn this into a masterpiece. MVT really nailed this! Beautiful job! Here's a box comp shot with Deadpool and Mephisto.

Seriously awesome statue--my new favorite. I love the size, the pose, the sense of the impending slow walk, and the details. The touch of water on the base really completes the package.

I just want to stare at it over and over. It feels far more alive than most statues.

#98 has arrived safely in Louisville, KY. Just took a quick peek to make sure he wasn't broken, haven't had time to take a really close look, but I'm already in love with it! This is the first FS I've bought in a couple of years, and with Thanos and PV showing up in the next week or so, I think it's safe to say I've got the sickness again!

Hey... just got mine today! Great job BD- I appove! It looks like all the details held up very well in transition to the statue, and the paintjob is pretty good imo. The box is plain awesome also.

Well, I'm grateful to those who picked up one- it's an honor to have something in all your collections. After this Mysterio will be my next and after that... well, I just want to thank Randy for the opportunity to do a few peices so far, and for all his patience. Hopefully I'll be able to help make those shelves and display cases even heavier in the future.

And in case I forget to say this later... Merry Christmas ;-)

I opened #29 last night. Tres Cool! It is everything I hoped for and more.

I was hoping to put it on the bottom shelf of my IKEA Detolf, but the eyes looked down a little too much and the statue lost some of the impact. It needs to be displayed at least waist high to get the right angle on the eyes, and probably should not be displayed any higher than shoulder height or the details on the base will be lost.

It is in my top five FS for sure. :buttrock:

If you liked this one, consider voting nominating him in the 2005 Statue of the Year thread. http://66.98.242.87/~admin11/showthread.php?t=19933

Last year, the Marvel Milestone Captain AMerica was not even eligible to vote for in the final awards thread as only the top five nominated statues moved on. It would be a travesty to occur again because of a lack of nominating support.

I agree. One of my favorites. Randy really captured the character in this one and the base is awsome.

I explained the story of Man-Thing to my 9 year old daughter, how he was created and what he does. She really likes him and the statue, which my wife can't understand. :peoples:
