Let's see.........different line, different scale, different style, and neither has even been released yet. You're using the Wonder man sunglasses idea??
Very kewl..............................

I have to ask because it'll bug me... Was that following my suggestion to consider adding the glasses on an older thread? When you posted prelim ideas, I had said, "What, no Wonderman shades?". You then responded.

Whether it is in response to the suggestion or not, the statue is a surefire hit!

speaking from an archer perspective....I think Hawkeye would use a compund bow, rather than the long bow....Wasn't he using a compund in that mini he had with the werewolf guy?...right after Mockingbirds death? (Maaaan we need a Mockingbird mb!)

How are the mechanics wrong? What are you seeing?

I figure Hawkeye can shoot a bow from virtually any position, no?

Tetragrammaton

And other than that I just like the style of the HH.

Well, it kind of depends on the distance of the shot and the force intended...but hey, I can suspend my beliefs and be happy....that base is unbelievable.

My only thing is that IMO if all those other Avengers have fallen, Clint must be pretty pissed off and determined! He looks like he just put on the tights that Jarvis lighly starched and folded....shouldn't there be a few tears and some battle damage on him?

Hawkeye..last Avenger standing!!! Works for me!

the way his right hand is pulled back to far, your right hand if you are right handed should be basicly resting by your cheek as an anchor point so this way each time you pull back your bow your line of sight at what you are aming at is allway coming from the same point. does that make sence? like the back sight on a rifle that has no scope

Got what you are saying. On the Bowen piece his hand seems to be touching his ear rather than a point on his cheek. Thanks.

Also, shouldn't the arrow be in the same line as his bow arm? Wouldn't he need some sort of protection on his forearm as well?

As far as the compound bow goes, I think the longbow is classier.

not if you hold the bow correctly it will not slap you, its when you don't hold your bow hand correctly as in you let your wrist angle towards the bow string thats when you get smacked and I do know how that feels!
Plus as an expert archer as he is he wouldn't have his bow set up to be able to pull past his anchor point, there is a limit on how far back you can pull it no matter how strong you are

HAHA, I know what you mean, I have a single cam compound bow that I have set at 60 lbs, that shoots faster per second than my sons bow that he pulls 90 lbs by alot fps(feet per second) A good single cam bow can flat out haul balls, without all the tuning problems of a 2 cam bow

Beautiful piece!

I just hope this isn't the end for Hawkeye!

Come on, Randy!

Give us a new MB!!!
Or break out the dremel cut this in half slap on a base and call it a day.

Well put and I agree, round one goes to Bowen Designs. Wait, I forgot Namor, that's 2 for Bowen Designs.
the namor I give to hard hero, the pose with the trident is boring, also diamond select went that one too so it kinda ruined that one for me. HAwkeye goes to bowen no doubt about it. Surfer sculpt I liked the hard hero and the thor I liked bowen's verion much better, I have to agree competition is great~

to me my board!

The Namor trident pose is both regal and nostalgic, for those of us who bought Sub-Mariner #1 back in the day. Hard Hero Surfer sculpt is not for me...the face doesn't work for me which is the case with the other HH pieces as well (hey, I'm happy they seem to have a strong following, it's just not for me...as I described to Dana, the faces don't seem a bit flat to me but, again, that's just IMHO). I'd give all these to Bowen, and I am not a Bowen exclussivist.

Couldn't agree more and I'm on the younger scale of the spectrum, so I don't really think its a nostalgia issue. Bowen's works just "pop" so to speak, they feel real, and I think HH's feel a bit too maquette-ish (just a matter of taste). This is ever-so-evident after comparing the two Hawkeyes now.

When can we expect this to be solicited?

Will it be an exclusive or extremely limited?

I hope not...I think this is the best statue I have ever seen from Bowen

I hate to spoil the love-in, but why all the junk on the base ? This is a supposed to be a figure study but now it looks like half of a diorama ....

One person's junk is another person's picture of beauty...
Personally, I love the base. It's fluid, imaginative, and feels in motion. It also demonstrates versatility on the part of BD. I believe this is a sign of things to come..

When I saw the initial outlines of this I had mixed feelings about him aiming up rather than straight forward but whether the angle has been lowered a bit I do not know but that is one awesome statue I must have.

I really thought it very unrealistic of all the other Heavy hitters from the Avengers to be toast, other than the Hawk.....but Randy said it was an interpritation.......

The sculpt is aweasome.....and I would like to see it without all the other stuff on base as well.

Randy asked our opinions on the base.. and thought it would be cool to have cap's shield there, Thor's Hammer... Iron Man's helmet... Ant Man's helmet... and I agree... I think it adds alot to the piece... I am sorry that some dont like it... but I think it is an awsome sculpt.. and a great base... And I hate Hawkeye... I am going to purchase it...

As a huge comic fan I love this statue. As an Archer (for over 24 years) I have a few issues with it. I always liked the fact that hawkeyes left arm had the chainmail sleeve on it. This is used to protect your arm from the bow string. I've seen guys peel a flap of skin off there arms. I myself have always worn a forarm guard but have still given myself some killer welts from the string. But that is the minor thing, The magor thing is that he is infact hold the bowstring completly wrong. the bowstring is pulled back with 3 fingers, not 2 ( I blaim artists for drawing this wrong for years!!) A right handed person would draw the bowstring back untill his right index finger came to the corner of his moth and his thumb rest behind his jawbone right under his ear. This is the position that places the bowstring in front of the right eye for aim. I'm not trying to start anything with this post and I will be buying one for myself. I just wanted to get the technical archery shooting stuff off my chest. :)

As to the base I just love it, the only thong wrong is that as most people will display it the Captains Americas shield, Iron Mans helmet and Thor’s hammer are on the back side of the base. I would be displaying it ass in the pose on the right hand side of the original picture.
