They didn't have this problem with Invisible Woman FS. Must be because Vision is a much heavier sculpt and a longer support pin was needed.

I think you are right. If people do not like the colors on the Phasing version they probably won't like the colors on the solid version either.

The paint job reminds me of the Spider-Woman bust. It seems depth is difficult to show on clear resin. Though the phasing is cool, I'd bet money that the regular Vision is going to look 10 times better.

I'm REALLY glad now that I ordered the solid version for my collection.

That's exactly the problem ... whenever I get a new statue everyone "walks right up to it and looks at it closely" :laugh:

This is absolutely the worst paint job I have ever seen on a statue. Green paint on the cape, bad paint job on the seams. The clear part of his cape is more dingy than clear. I couldn't be more disappointed in inspecting a statue.

And that dang metal pin in the ankle is abosultely ridiculous.

This is the most disappointing statue I have received from BD. The sculpt is fine, but paint job is lousy. I'm so glad I'm not holding on to this one. Its already got a home with a fellow statueforum member, and I hope he isn't as disapponted as I am.

I have to agree this is my least favorite FS due to the paint. Rush jobs suck... :banghead: mine has two finger prints on the ankle without the pin. the seams suck very sloppy. If I stand back I don't notice it so much but I know it is less than average by Bowen standards.

the finger prints really draw you in to look for more flaws. of course the sculpt rocks but the paint is less than average IMO.


I'm going to keep it just because it's worth more the way it is than sending back to bowen and posibley never getting it back.

You're so right. I'm should be bouncing up and down the walls that the quality of BD's products is going down the toilet like the rest of you guys. .

First Thanos with a hold in his rear? Shouldn't an expensive statue like that NOT have any holes? Isn't that the LEAST a customer could expect? Not to mention the paint jobs on that one.

Now a limited edition I get has a horrid paint job and a metal peg that you can see in his "invisible" form.

So I should be happy for having those things. And for the record the Thanos is not for me and neither is the Phasing Vision. So don't worry about me, its the people who get these less than great prodcuts that I feel sorry for.

In glorious 2-third's color number 125 arrived yesterday. The appropriate cliché for this piece is "Nicer in person than the pic's". The paintjob on mine is superb, the slight gloss on his belt was a nice surprise along with the precise paint application for Vision's forehead solar energy gem. The epitome of androidian/synthezoid detachment is captured in the sculpt. Subtle details are what separate Mr. Bowen’s creations from the rest. Shiflett Bro's and Mr. Bowen, thank you.

Very good choices, Asgardians and bad guys are severely under-represented in the line however it is a business after all. Women have also been slightly ignored, off the top of my head Valkyrie, Clea, Moondragon MB's would be welcomed.

I think they buy stuff like Vision and they will resell them later. I mean I sold them #20 signed for a quick buck but if they wait until March or June they might get $800-or $1000 out of it.

I would have to assume shipping statues to Hawaii takes a while longer to arrive... especially during the holiday season. Can you possibly ask BD for a tracking number? That might make you feel a bit better. :)

I don't know why, but to me this is really poor design/quality control ... the whole purpose of this statue is to show off the "phasing effect", so you would think that they would take into account that this peg would be plainly visible through the clear resin!

I don't get how there can be such a difference in colors from a professional pic to a pic taken under Flourescent lights, the differences in the colors of Vision are radical.Can't help but think they are going to be different shades of the color when the regular comes out.

Actually... there is a huge difference.. I believe that Flourescent lights give off a green feel to them... (No... dont look up and say... My lights are not green) it is the way that the camera picks up the lights and the shadows and all that jazz.. where a Professional Photo does not use Flourescent light... so you get true rich colors...

Fluorescent light emits blue and green light primarily and is deficient in red light. Most color pictures made without a filter under fluorescent light are also deficient in red and have an overall greenish appearance.

Update: I received a prompt reply from BD and they gave me a UPS tracking number. The tracking number was valid, and the shipment history shows that the item was delivered to my front door on 12/20/2005.

Per the UPS agent I spoke with, the sender must file a claim on a lost item. I sent BD an e-mail asking them to do just that. I don't really know what I can expect out of this. Not only could I potentially miss-out on an exclusive piece, I may also be out the cash. Perhaps my credit card company will assist with that, I don't know at this point.

This was clearly not the fault of Bowen Designs, so I don't begrudge them any ill will. All I can say is enjoy your statue if you received one, friends. Looks like I'm going to miss out on this one.

That sucks... I lost a statue this way once... Psylocke from NECA Marvel Collector Club... With mail theft on the rise you would think that UPS, Fedex, and DHL would wake up and not make a delievery unless there is someone home... that is why they have those little slips to say.. "Hey we have tried to deliever this package to you"

I won't let it discourage me from ordering from BD in the future, though. With mail theft on the rise you would think that UPS, Fedex, and DHL would wake up and not make a delievery unless there is someone home... that is why they have those little slips to say.. "Hey we have tried to deliever this package to you"
Funny you say that.I always hope they leave it with my neighbor cause i hate getting those slips,especially on friday.

Thanks for the words of sympathy, kirthew. Sorry to hear it happened to you as well. I guess it's just one of those things that happens sometimes. I won't let it discourage me from ordering from BD in the future, though. I'm pretty sure I can set it up so that UPS would always need a signature in order to deliver packages to me, so I'll look into that.Actually, according to my UPS guy (who could be wrong) if the package is insured for any amount beyond the inicial 100 dollars, they aren't supposed to leave it on a doorstep, they're supposed to leave the call-slip.

I get packages worth more than $100 every 2-3 months and only one time did they leave a yellow slip all the other times they left the package.

Those guys (the actual UPS drivers) do work their tails off. The truck that stops by my workplace is typically filled literally all the way to the top on most days! It's a wonder that our normal guy does as good a job as he does, all things considered. There isn't even any room to walk in between the parcels most of the time!

I just got word that Kelsey at Bowen Designs has filed a claim w/ UPS and that I will be hearing from UPS shortly. THAT, my friends, is excellent customer service! I will not hesitate to order from BD again. I'll probably just do what was suggested and use a ship-to address where I know myself, or someone else, will be available to take the parcel.
