If you want Randy to continue making statues, he's got to make $$$. Inorder to make $$$, he's got to keep attracting new collectors to the hobby. The only way to attract new collectors is new product, and the type of product that's going to attract those collectors are the major characters; Hulk, Spidey, Wolverine, Captain America. You don't see him recycling the same 5 characters over and over like certain other companies.....he's struck a good balance, and we've already got a diverse line. And personally, I'm looking foreward to a new Cap, Thor, Wolverine, etc........personally, I don't feel I can ever have too many quality sculpts of those characters.

I agree totally, those characters are his cash cows, and if he can get a bit more cash for them, or get a few more people collecting then great!

I also think Randy's gone out of his way to include in the upcoming phase a great deal of characters who've deserved a FS. Who knows, he may not make a great deal of $ on some of these sculpts, but he has been listening to the fans on this forum and giving us what we want. :)

Also, the brown and yellow Wolvie typically go for under 100 clams on eBay, if they sell at all... That doesn't scream "easy money" or "must have collectible" to me.

Sure, the statues will sell (they all will), however, I see a noticably smaller number of them being made and, I'm not so sure it's because BD wants to raise investment awareness. It could very well be because he can't sell 10,000 Wolvie or Spidey statues anymore. I think that ship has sailed.

I'm not sure I go for the cash cow reasoning... 2000 Thanos statues probably sold faster than 2000 of the water cooler Spidey. Does that say something?

It's not that Bowen could sell 10,000 Spideys or Wolverines but look at the "overall" statue/bust market. Sideshow has released a Sabretooth VS Wolverine, DST has released a Spidey and Wolverine maquette, Bowen has released two Cleary Spiderman statues. These characters sell overall.
