Comparing with different manufacturers, which's the "best" Superman statue?

The one where he's fighting a robot is the best IMO.

I'm a sucker for realism, so for me, it has to be the one where he is fighting the robot too.

Is bowen 's the last one? If so, I think its one of the lesser ones of the group. Face looks aweful from that angle and the cap is weird.

I actually like the first one, and it was a very cheap statue to buy.

that statue isn't great, especially from that angle. Never reall seen it from any other angle.

I would love a definite statue of the first version. I like that pose. But I really love the man vs machine, just love it.

the bowen statue is awesome...the only thing bad about it is some of the paint jobs and the plastic cape...i may have a cape sculpted for it...mine actually has a good paint job but i bought it sealed...

1. Bowen Superman
2. Man vs. Machine
3. WB Superman (pictured in post #6)
4. Jim Lee Superman

I think a really good Superman statue is long overdue. The Jim Lee statue was very weak, and was a step backward to what DC should be releasing.

I like the second one the most.

I have the vs machine one but I think it looks better in the pic.

I really like the Silver age figurine from WB. Mostly because it captures (pretty well) the Superman era I like the best. Still hoping for a definitive Curt Swan Superman statue--can't believe a Swan wasn't one of the first in the Superman covers line.

I like it, but I couldn't get past the robots goofy look on his face. His eyes are popped out of their sockets as if to say "Oh ****, Superman's kicking my ass!".

If there were less robot and the Superman was larger, then I probably would have kept it.

Still it's a great looking statue considering it was released several years ago.

IMO, the WB Store Silver Age Superman FS is the best-looking of 'em all. I have it in my ever-growing Superman collection (pics soon!), and it was my very first FS. Unfortunately, I missed out on the Silver Age Batman. Had it in my hands. Studied it. Loved it. Left it for another time. Don't know why. Came back. Was sold out. *sigh* :bawling: :banghead: The Jim Lee by Tim Bruckner is second best. This man should be do some Marvel pieces ( Wolverine! Spidey! Cap! Punisher!) after he's done (if ever) with DCD.

I'd love to see a Superman FS where he's taking off. Up, Up, and Away-style. By either Bruckner, Cipriano, or Mathews. :buttrock:

Does anyone know anything about this one? The seller told me it was very heavy, had WB marked on it - anyone have additional info regarding the sculptor, worth etc.?? I bid on it initially, but now not sure it's a good find. -e

This was originally a full color statue released for the WB Store back in the late '90s/early '00s. The one you see on eBay is painted over in gold. :) I passed on the original because his face looked too bony. Sunken in, even. The Silver Age Superman FS is WAY better looking. Seek that one out instead IMO.

I like the Jim Lee one but the sculpt is too square-ish all around. His face is pretty scary. Like someone punched him in the face, or sucked out all the fat.

The Gil Kane one DOES look Asian, but the pose is fantastic. One of the best poses I've ever seen.

The versus Robots one is very nice as well.

But my favorite would have to be the Warner Brothers Store cartoon animated one, and the one DC Direct released as a smaller version.

It would be better if the Jim Lee Superman statue had a longer cape.

Could someone post a close up of the face of the Jim Lee Superman?

I dont know how the facial features are on this.

I would appreciate it.

Not sure which is the best but I'll tell you it's not Bowen's that's for sure. Also that Ross Kingdom come Supes makes me want to :puke2: . It's no secret I hate Alex Ross and his "real" art look, sculpt is solid but to me it looks like crap. If I had to pick one I'd pick the Jim Lee Supes but it's got problems too. IMO a Superman statue on the level of awesome-ness as BD's Juggernaut hasn't been made. Hopefully DCD new hired guns can do Superman some justice or maybe RB himself!!!
