What's up with DC first WETA now MCFARLANE??

So maybe DC is taking a turn for the better by letting others do some of there sculpts? First WETA was allowed to make all those cheesy Superman movie statues and now DC is collaborating with McFarlane for a Batman Spawn statue. Keep going DC maybe farm some work out to Attakus?

Doubtful. WETA is doing movie sculpts, which is what they're known for. The Spawn statue is because DC knows that there are those that want a Spawn statue. They'll still continue to make their own statues, not letting anyone else make good use of their characters.

I'm guessing this is part of some scheme by Didio to bring McFarlane to DC.

I'm happy that McFarlane Toys is finally getting a shot at making Batman. Todd always said it would be a dream come true to make a Batman figure.
