I'm just surprised they didn't have jim lee design it. All of them have some sort of design by the artist on it.
but some of them are based of the covers, like the Mignola one.

Nope it's in the first one , and the art can't be compared to his newer pages like Hush and All-star , this one's more rough and not as perfect except the cover pin-up .

At first I was a bit skeptical about the piece (the cape), but the more I see it the more I know is going to be among my favorites if not my favorite.
The sculpt is just incredible, and to me, that's how Batman should look.
Kudos to Sosa for the work, and Jim Lee for his interpretation of the Dark Knight.

I like his art. Even more so on the 90's X-Men and WildCATS. But I really don't care for the pose they chose for the statue, the cape bugs me.
It would be coolr if the cape just drapped down around him on the base instead of blowing around,

I agree the pose wasn't something I was happy about to beging with, and the cape shape is a bit odd, plus when you see it in person there's two dimples (dents) on the cape implying the cape is pressed against his lower back...but again I disliked that but hey the base is awesome! ;)

that is why i'm not a great fan of Ross, at the end of the day, batman is a comic book character and when you make him too realistic looking he tends to look faintly ridiculous, i mean look at the films, if you were going to dress up and fight crime the first thing you would ditch would be the cape, because everything that was said in incredibles about them was right, but put batman on paper and you can have a cape as outlandish and as large as you want and it looks cool, and that is why there has (imo) never been a truly great comic book movie and that is why i love the animated tv shows so much (although i have hope for the Watchmen movie)

The cape worked for batman because he used the night and fear, a big huge black cape flying behind you as you jump towards enemies is much more imposing...than a merely a man.

yep agreed, but it never worked very well in the movies, one reason was they could never keep the cape a constant size and another was could you ever shake the feeling that seeing a grown man run around in costume is just ever so slightly wrong? give me a good batman comic over a movie anyday, i mean, will a movie ever be as good as 'the dark night returns'?

The neck and collar look weird to me. Don't really like how that part of the sculpt was done. Still picking this one up, though.
Actually the neck/cape piece is way off the spot it was supposed to sit on...it actually comes out a bit...so his neck muscles don't line up with the collar bone area...then again the collar bone is part of the piece so nothing lines uo from the chest up.... then they messed with the the neck in production as far as I can tell from looking at the original..but oh well.
