Hey All,

Howdy howdy! HAPPY Cinco de Mayo to you all!
I just finished this up for HoldyourfireAl. This beautiful piece was sculpted by
Helder. Done in 1/6th scale, it has an overall height of 14 inches tall. The
casting was beautiful, solid cold cast resin and came in some impressive
packing. Form cut styrofoam surrounded the already assembled and cleaned up
piece. It arrived in 3 parts, the figure, gun, and base (all pinned for final
assembly). I say again, BEE-YEW-TEE-FULL!

The sculpt is nothing short of fantastic...very tight and machine clean.

Well...enough of my yammerin'..here he be
and thanks for stopping by to peek

What made you choose the location where you placed the blue shadow effects ? Was it instinctive ? Or is there any logic behind this ?

Hey there SKS,

What I normally explain to beginning painters to understand shading and shadows is to hold a assembled sculpture under a lamp (with the light over the piece shining downwards). This helps to show where natural shadows would/should lay when painting them in. I hope that helps.

Actually, it wouldn't take too much to make it a close replica. Honestly... but that's $$$$$ I don't have. :(

As for the blog... thank YOU.
I'm glad it's been getting a decent amount of visitors - since I've only had it up for about a month now.

http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc10/markonweb/ROM/rom_spaceknight_tshirt.jpg

I had been eye-balling that shirt for the better part of a YEAR, always meaning to pick one up... but never feeling I could justify the purchase (since I'd probably never wear it, but just keep it in my t-shirt collection)...

I'll admit to wondering if the seller would just pocket my cash and send me a crappy shirt, but when I saw that someone else had bought one and wasn't complaining about it... it helped me make my mind up.
But still, I was hesitant to pick it up...

...until a few weeks back.
Picked one up and said "Screw it."

It seem to be a pretty good quality shirt.

For anyone who might need MORE of a ROM fix... check out a recent blog post of mine>

http://sanctumsanctorumcomix.blogspot.com/2009/03/rom-spaceknight-legacy-is-rom-one-step.html

I offer forth a possible NEW bit of evidence to support the theory that ROM might be making a comeback.

Wow, Just found this thread through Google about a week ago and joined.

Been a Rom fan since Issue 7.

Have 3 copies of the whole series (1 Mint, 1 Near Mind, and 1 I read) and 2 of the original action figures that still work.

I have been thinking about making my own figures, as I'm a sculptor, but then I found THIS beauty.

I never suspected that something like this was out here, and am overjoyed to have actually been able to get one from Jayco.

I'll probably be going for a lighter paint job on mine (more white, like in the comics from the teens to the 40's) but that blue transparent highlight is absolutely incredible.

Can't wait for Terminator and the others.

Thanks Helder/Jayco for this incredible addition to my collection.

Thanks for the incredible sculpt Helder, hope you still have plans for a Terminator.
