Which Spider-Woman bust do you want?
Red suit Drew?
Black suit Carpenter?
Both?
I would like both for sure. :D

Personally, I only want the Jessica Drew, but that's just because she is the one that I like better. I would of course buy both if the other became available .. if for nothing else than to increase the amount of ladies in the collection.

Tat--

You didnt offer a complete poll. I for one abhor "spider-woman." I mean, the idea of creating a female spider-person was a gimmick to allow for a feminine spider-man. I just have never accepted it. In my mind, only Spider-man exists. I also never could stand supergirl, comet the superhorse, etc, etc.

So there should have been a "neither" option. ;-)

Agreed that "neither" should have been an option. I'll buy the Jessica Drew version if one's released, but there are many more worthy female characters I'd like to see immortalized first.

I think the original Jessica Drew is a perfect pick to have been made a bust this turn around.
While there are others I would love to see like Lillandra, Magik, or Lady Deathstrike. I think she was a good choice.

Spider Woman is my favorite character to say that she is not worthy of a bust is wrong. Look at all of the crapy male characters Bowen has put out. That's what I like about him he will put out lesser known characters.

Alternatively, I'd suggest female characters like Valkyrie (from the Defenders), Madame Masque (from Iron Man), Hellcat (Avengers line-up from early Perez issues) or the classic Black Widow (masked, big hair, fishnets) might be as worthy or more.

Of course, like Spider-Woman, She-Hulk is a character that was also a spin-off of an existing character, but thanks to the work of John Byrne and others, I believe She-Hulk's become well integrated in the Marvel Universe with a fairly well defined personality.

I never felt Spider-Woman was able to make that leap from female version to stand-alone concept. The original Spider-Woman had a short run in her own title that never felt to me like Marvel could really figure out who she was. I'd suggest that Jessica Drew has seen more action out of her costume than in.

Both. I see them as two different characters with two different historys and both would look good in a display cabinet. One was a former Avenger (West Coast) and I believe the other was a Spider-Man allie although I could be wrong about that one.

And the Jessica Drew version needs to be the one after she altered her mask to let her hair show and not the original one that covered her entire head.

Does anyone know for sure if the Drew version is going to be the original original version (the one with the hair cap featured at the begining of issue #1) or the redesigned original with the hair showing.

Personally I'm hoping it's the one with the hair showing.

Ya GOTTA go with the hair showing. I voted for the red outfit. The black is nice, but the best part about it is the thigh-high boots that you wouldn't see anyway. And I already have enough of Venom and Spidey in that black outfit.

They are 2 seperate characters, but you gotta go with the retro outfit 1st. Until Spider-Girl passed her, I think Spider-Woman was the longest running female solo title that Marvel's ever had (50 issues)!!!

marvelboi77

marvelboi77
08-24-2004, 05:07 PM
I'm sure it's going to be with hair. The Original was in Marvel Spotlight #32 and What If #17 and briefly in #1 of Spider-Woman. The Spider-Woman without hair had a yellow symbol that looked like a sun on the back of her outfit. I would say with 100 percent confidence that Spider-Woman will have hair. Even better odds since she has hair in the New Avengers series.

I think Randy should do the Black Suit Julie Carpenter Spider-Woman is Phase 3.
She was an influence for Spider-Man's black suit. Member of the Avengers, and a main member of West Coast Avengers.....if I'm not mistaken.
The Poll count is over 44% in favor. She's not a variant. There's no reason not to. Well, except she's not "old school" like Randy favors, but in that case Randy, how about Impossible Man. :D :thumbs2:

Wasn't she though?
I know she had a very short live title of her own, and is listed as a member of Avengers, West Coast Avengers, and the Secret Defenders. Introduced in Secret Wars. There's more trading cards on the market of her than Jessica.
I say that's enough to warrant a bust.

Hawkeye's vote is droping. Just like his merchandising appeal. CK13 is right on this one. How many AF and glasses have been made of Hawkeye? The first two Spider-Woman characters have many more. The Spider-Woman glass is one of the most sought after Marvel glasses, if not the most.
