It's Cinemaquette, not Sideshow.

It's not a bad piece. Likeness is off, and this is not the iconic costume for him IMO. I'll be happy to wait for the SS version -- cheaper and smaller. To CM's credit though, I would prefer real hair and silicon skin. But 1K - $1,500 aint worth it to me.

Looks like Gentle Giant is the only one that can nail his likeness.

Moved this to the correct location. It looks nothing like Aragorn except for the costume. And for $1500+ it should have a better likeness. I agree Monster GG are the only one to get Aragorn likeness somewhat right. Other than the likeness though it looks pretty good.

Looks ok from the side, from the front not so much.

I also agree, the GG version is the best one so far.

Sideshow has a chance to redeem themselves with the Aragorn PF. I say redeem because Frodo's likeness is not there no matter how small the edition size ended up being.

I am thinking of commissioning a 1/3 head for CM now. If the CM price drops on ebay till about 1000 bucks, perhaps it will justify commissioning a head with $500 to make this piece worthwhile...

to me this one is really bad. the likeness is not even close. for that kind of money, it needs to at least be in the ballpark.

if you look at the GG Aragorn bust, for $60 or so, you can get one that is about as good as it will get.

they have come the closest that for sure.

I have not seen anyone nail his likeness yet.

I think the whole CM line will be a total waste of our money from an investment POV.

Who are they to start prices SO high? Absolutely ridiculous.

These companies are thriving off anyone buying whatever instead of letting us decide market value.

These will be had on Ebay at 15-25% cheaper prices after release and will never reach their retail values.

$1500 for some of these. Ouch.

I realize the run #'s are quite low (1000), but these prices should be in comparison to the other companies w/ similar run #'s.

Even SS has been steadily increasing their prices because they see how much the statues 'could' be worth.

Anyways, CM won't get my money, no matter how good the statue. Perhaps in the 3rd market down the road...

The TX CM is already down to like $700-$800 on Ebay. She started for what? $1100? $1200?

Enuff ranting. Sorry everyone. Just my opinion.

and you will never own one.

If you did, you would know they are worth the money.

Perhaps at Ebay prices. From what I've seen so far, they've all dropped from their retail price. Too high a start price.

I've seen the pics and they are good, but not so much better than SS premium line or other makers whose prices are 1/4 theirs to warrant such a high price.

They'll be those who will buy 4 premium statues for your 1 CM. Each party will be happy and none the wiser.

To me the pose looks stiff and the face...well...I'm sure it looks just like the guy...whoever the guy is cuz it sure the hell isn't Aragorn/Viggo. Just my opinion though.
