I thought you were referring to this
<IMAGE SRC=http://www.scs.unr.edu/~wraynor/ball1.jpg>
I looked up your "Aussie Rules Football"
It's basically a cross between Basketball and Football (except the ball can't be thrown)
And then the funny part is like blending Basketball, football and soccer wasn't crazy enough, the "Refs" are called "Umpires".
What happened? They couldn't find a way to squeeze the useage of hocky sticks into the game?

It's not a cross between anything mate, the first Aussie Rules game was played in 1858, The first Ice Hockey game was played in 1875, the first American Football game was played in 1876, whilst The first Basketball game was played in 1891, If anything it would be fair to say that all these sports stole some of the best aspects of our indigenous game to bring back over there to the USA! :eplus2:

Thanks!
I was'nt trying to be a d!ck. I was trying to be funny.... :rolleyes2
And Justin was cool enough to clarify the history.

Besides I couldn't really give a good rats @ss about how people perceive Americans. Maybe you would like to hear my views on Europe, Asia, Africa, South America and the Middle East.......No?
Good!

What would prompt you to make a statement like that?
I wasn't looking for a international debate on the world view of the American,I was talking about sports.
The real reason people "hate" America, is because they are envious. They are upset because we live in excess and have the freedom to succeed in life, where they have limited opportunities and governments who supress them.

You don't know me, and you make some sort of off the cuff remark....with the insinuation that I'm the "ignorant American devil" and why I represent all that is wrong in this country. I think it's funny, the first post of mine you have ever responded to, and you flame me. Nice.

Thanks for the indepth history! (You know I was joking about the Hockey sticks)
I just found it very amusing that there were all these similarities, I had never even heard of your version of "Football".
But that's the nice thing about being able to learn about other people from far off lands and their culture.

offcourse I know you were joking mate :)
it's all a bit of fun but I knew our sport had been around for a little bit longer than the three you mentioned, but your right about there being a lot of similarities, it just means that we agree on what we think make good sports to watch, toughness, athleticism, skill and a lot of courage :buttrock:

Its true, its true, but hey, at least I'll be able to represent the good green in the Bears' own den. I'm entirely envious that you have opening day tickets, I'd kill for those!! Nonetheless, I'll be watching... and pissing Chicagoans off as a good Pack fan should.

Arm - 17-3? Since when did the Bears have enough offense to score 17 in a game? I'm callin it 24-13, PACK!

The offense doesn't have to score(I'm being realistic) the Defense will force one fumble, and pick up one interception and run it in for 14 pts:) and the Field goal unit will put the icing on the cake with 3 more pts. ;)

Maybe thats realistic in your world man, not ours! I'll be surprised if they have that amount of success(scoring wise)on D again this year. It won't be long until we find out!

I said I was being realistic...as in the offense probably wouldn't pull their weight.
The worst part is that they need an offense desperately, so what do they do...draft heavy in Defense.
Then we got Thomas Jones, injured during his physical. WTF?
I don't know about this year. I swear they are trying to give me a heart attack on purpose.

Pulled a muscle during his physical...too funny. Dont' worry my friend, as long as Rex stays heathy they will be fine. :eplus2: Is there an over/under on when he'll go down yet? I thought you meant that the D would score all the points again this year. :o
