Lets try to be constructive on this guys as i certainly think its worth a debate. Constructive feedback will certainly help HH.

Looking at the releases to date:

Captain America (rock base) - Not a fan of this base. Too plain and colour is too light.
Thor (rock base) - Not a fan of this base. Too plain and colour is too light.
Hawkeye - Not a fan of this base. Too plain and colour is too light.
Silver Surfer (Meteor base) - Not a fan of the board hanging off the edge but posed right looks fine.
Namor (water base) - Excellent
Hulk (Pavement) - Excellent
Thing (Road base) - Excellent

Future release
Hercules - Gone back to the Thor and Captain base. Not a fan of the design.

How would you like the bases to be designed in the future.

A simple black base like Bowen?

I think Wook is saying that he doesn't mind the simplistic design of the HH bases. I, too, prefer a base that doesn't have too much going on with it. Ultra detailed bases are only needed for diorama pieces imo.

The Rock bases are simplistic in design but not very appealing IMO. Maybe its just the colour of them.

Because of their height, I would be happy with a thin, maybe 1/2 inch black square base with simple peg holes for the statue to slide into. Heck, it could be one piece and I'd still be happy. Maybe going that route would drop the price $10 - $20 bucks?

A simple black base like Bowen?

Those look nice but are usually flat and don't work well for the type action poses Hard Hero does so well.

Maybe Hard Hero just didn't want their rock bases to look like Bowen's and hence the brown color.

I myself prefer rubble, section of a wall, bricks, busted off stop light....etc.

The rock bases for the avengers are fine. When you put them together, it looks really, really nice. It serves as a cohesive unit. As you can see, other characters that aren't just Avengers(Hulk, Thing, Iron Fist, Submariner, Silver Surfer) have different bases that are very well done. When you guys look at all the pieces done so far, there are only three characters with similar rock bases. The other 5 bases are totally different from one another. Seth has done an admirable job. I hope he continues to do what HE wants to do. I am along for the ride. Great JOB SETH! That IF base is great. The Hercules base is perfect as he was an Avenger and will always be considered one. He goes perfect with the other characters that are exclusively avengers. Can't wait to see Iron Man and Captain Marvel bases. :buttrock:

Now that we have the rock bases for the Avengers, it's important to keep up the tradition. They certainly don't distract the eye from the great statues, that's for sure. All rhyme jokes aside, the HH statues are Fantastic and it's a real pleasure to own them, IMO.
I wonder if down the road the bases could be redesigned and sold separately so we could interchange them with the rock ones, if desired? Say, a 'Street Scene' set, or sculpted polished metal style or something? Just thinking out loud.

I like how Bowen does their bases. Some are simple (DD, Hulk, etc.), some more complex (GR, Namor, etc.), but all (or nearly all) are appropriate for the statue.

The HH rock bases are fine IMO, but the brown color does lack something. The Bowen rock bases are richer in color and texture, same with many of the DST sculpts -- HH should consider a similar style.

I have jazzed up my HH Hulk base making the detail pop out more on the pavement, shading some of the crushed arias and adding some specially bits to make it more realistic and gritty. I also put in some water effects going into the drain with a bug coming out of the grating. Then finally I masked off the pavement area and made the base black all round with the pavement grey going all the way around but only 1cm or so, I like it and the base can take more modifications as well.

I think if HH are going to stick with the rock bases they need to make them look more realistic and detailed. At the mo they look as if they`ve been moulded out of plastic.

I agree with the Avengers bases being nice when displayed with one another, ANd that the bases work for these sculpts. The color is a little "fake" looking, but the rest of the sculpt overpowers it!

the hulk and namor bases are perfect, not too much going on and at the same time not like the not so good looking fake rock base.
