View Full Version : How I decorated my room in college...
With lots of very large A1-sized (almost 2 foot by 3 foot) pieces based on classic Silver Age comic art. Most of these were drawn and coloured with paint in an afternoon each, mainly lying on the floor the whole time. They are all now nearly 10 years old, so go easy... Oh, and excuse the ropey photography. Surfer features white and silver paint!

And one exception to the Silver Age rule:

Very cool pieces you got there JDH.
Thanks guys.:) I'd love an excuse to do something similar to these on canvas one day - the backgrounds would look a lot better that way - but I can't see the wife going for it.

Very cool JDH. I bet those would look nice on the wall.
Praise indeed from artists of your calibre, thanks.:) I was lucky enough to have a split level room in second year of college. The Silver Age ones got displayed all together in a massive 3x3 display, with Spider-Woman and a couple of other large paintings elsewhere. I always meant to round out the display with Thor, Cap, Black Bolt and an X-Men representative, maybe even Prof X. Then I might have done Reed, Sue and Johnny. I had poses for them selected, and did all the FF in small pics for my mum. I used to really like working at this scale, and if I get a chance to do something like this on canvas, I think I might prioritise an FF display.
And Rogue, let me know if you ever do want something to drag down the standard of your undoubtedly fantastic collection of your hubby's works.:)

Love the Doctor Strange.

Love the Doctor Strange.
Thanks. He comes off looking a bit 'leg-heavy', but that's the angle of the photo. I left Namor off the list of folks I would have got round to eventually...
Cool. I really like the Daredevil. Weren't you meant to be studying instead of painting these though? :)
