Both are impressive pieces. It really depends on which character that you like better. For display purposes the Namor IMO has a little more to offer that Man-thing. But then again I like the Man-Thing character better.

I have the Red Namor, but I saw the Manthing @ Jesse's house, and it is an impressive statue, but I would have to say to go with the charachter you like better. If I had a choice though, I would prolly sell the Red Namor, pick up Manthing, and pocket the $$$!

As a statue, not even close. Man-thing is an incredible piece of art and Namor is a fair representation of a character with a pretty lousy paint job, in my opinion. Of course, if you don't want a Man-thing in your collection (and who doesn't, really?) than go with the half naked guy.

They really are two such totally different characters. Its like comparing apples and oranges. They are both nice sculpts, but I am partial to the Namor FS (Black Costume). I love how it came out, especially the base. plus I'm not a manthing fan so I'm biased.

I really like the Namor statue, its just the shading on the skin that just doesn't seem right to me. :mad:

I've got the Black Namor and I love it. The Man-Thing goes pretty cheap on eBay so maybe you could end up with both.

Never liked the Man-Thing character, but the statue IS very nice.

I love my full size man-thing,.... and the Namor's base is about as good as you will see. Do what I did and get both.

Aren't we talking the black Namor here? I think the Man-Thing would easily beat out either the red or green Namor, but the black...it's anyone's call.

I have no interest in ManThing as a character, but the statue is awesome. Even my son's nanny who has no comic book knowledge loves the sculpt. She also likes Hawkeye and Transmutation Snowbird.

you got me there. i keep defaulting to green trunks Namor coz that's the one i identify with the most. still, black Namor vs Man-Thing, i'm not a big fan of either character but Man-Thing is the better sculpt by far IMHO and still the one i'd go for. unless one is a big fan of Namor... (and in that case i'd go for the HH Namor anyway)

If you're on a limited budget, get Namor. You could place that statue next to a number of other pieces.
ManThing is pretty much is on his own... that is, unless BD decides to do more 70s monster like Werewolf by night, Dracula, and Frankenstein...

nevertheless, he is goddamn cool statue and the base is the best bowen base ever

I think that's a great choice, but explaining Namor might be just as bothersome. :)

By the way I never understand why the best Namor with 1500 ES is selling for such low prices on ebay. he is great and I scored it for 85 $ only like 2 months ago. After opening the box, I said to myself that even 185 $ would be a fair price for this one

I really don't understand the prices on these things. Too many Sellers sellling for wayy too low, and that sets the standard.

IMO, MAN-THING is the most perfectly detailed and intricately sculpted piece Bowen, or any other company, has put out. And you can get that sucker for a song.

to each his own but if I would have to choose I'd definitely go for the Man-Thing FS. I think it's a beautiful statue and mark it as an instant-classic.

Yes, but the Namor in question here is the ultimate black version...at least I thought so. I would agree in a heartbeat that Man-Thing is the superior piece against the monokini Namors.
