Apocalypse Final and Mandarin paint tweak

The Final Apocalypse is up. Awesome!

Mandarin's Paint has been tweaked a bit. Not a big difference to me.

Apocalypse's paint scheme is different too. It used to be more metallic looking. The base paint is changed as well. The combination works much better IMO

I think the lighter blue in the new part. Maybe it's all a little "flatter" but he still is key. The other pic up is so dark you can only see 1/2 of him.

Both are pure evil tho! ;)

The Apocalypse statue is particularly impressive. Makes me wish I gave a squat about this character.

I agree about the Apocalypse, disagree about Mandarin... This is how I envision the character, and I love the paint tweaks...

The new paintjob on fs Apocalypse is realy good.

I liked the first paintjob also though.

The new paintjob is very oldschool and I like that.

I actually like the Darker Paint job on Apoc, but will get it nonetheless, I absolutely love the sculpt, and it still looks great! :buttrock:

Mandarin was'nt exactly the most ripped villian In the Marvel Universe! :laugh: I think the arms are fine, my problem is the length of the forearms (as Jesse has alread pointed out).

I think that the actual sculpt is brilliant (as is the base) but the damb hands are covering his face!!! has Rick Force got issues with making his facial sculptures hard to see or something? (Attuma anyone?) :confused: :confused:

Apoc's New color is more accurate and its an outsanding paint job, but the older ,darker,more metallic paint up was more to my taste.
I'll get him either way, but wish he had a little metalic in the new paint.

For me the base looks alot more realistic and better in the second paintup. The original sculpt paintup was fine but i also like the newer one too.

I also hope the lower black base is deeper in the final verion. Only looks to be about 1/4" deep.

Love the Apocalypse! Preferred the metalic paint job but you can't keep a good sculpt down! Pass on the Mandarin....

Has anything changed apart from the colour? I like the base colour on the new one. Not sure which colour I prefer on Apocolypse himself (new version or old)

Jess I'm gonna have to go with Kirk on this one and disagree. well kinda disagree. I don't think the forearms are too long as some people have long forearms. I do agree that the fingers are a bit thick, but again I know plenty of people with funny looking hands/fingers. Again I agree that the fingers would be a bit better if they were touching but only a bit. I don't think that hte fact they aren't ruins the piece by any means. I Think it can be argued that if the sculptor had intended for them to touch he could have done so easily (but I have no idea). as for the fact that the hands are blocking the face, yeah I see your point but to me that adds mistery and mischief to the character. I actually like that if you want to see his face you have to make an extra effort. It is there after all, just a bit hidden. The equivalent of a character being drawn in shadow. I don't know overall I like this piece. just MO

Love the Apocalypse sculpt - liked the old paint on Apocalypse better than the new one (looks similar to the blue used for Thanos), even though the new colour scheme is closer to the comics. The paint of the base in the new one looks much better than the old base. I will definitely be getting this one.
