Bears Vs Packers this Sunday!!
I'm thinking it will be a running game for the Pack no doubt. I don't think they'll focus as much on Favres arm.
Oh how nice it would be to start the season off with a W notch in our belt against the Pack:D
Anyhow here's a couple jokes to start off the mayhem.

<IMAGE SRC=http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/media/thumbnails/story/2006-09/25252049.jpg>

1.A Bears fan in a bar leans over to the guy next
to him and says, "Wanna hear a joke about Packer fans?"

The guy next to him replies, "Well before you tell that joke you should know something. I'm 6' tall and 220 pounds and I'm a Packer fan. The guy sitting next to me is 6'2" tall, 240 pounds and he's a Packer fan, and the guy sitting next ot him is 6'5" 280 pounds and he's a packer fan too.

Now, do you still wanna tell that joke?"
The Bears fan says, "Nah, not if I'm gonna have to explain it three
times."

2.Why do people from Green Bay go to Lambeau when there is a Tornado Warning?
Because there are no touchdowns there!

3.How do you know if you are a Packer Fan? If going to the bathroom in the middle of the night requires shoes and a flashlight.

4.Did you hear that Brett Favre can't get into his own driveway? Someone painted an end zone on it!

5.Q: What's the difference between Cheerios and the Green Bay Packers?
A: Cheerios belong in a Bowl.

6.Q: Why does Lambau Field have natural Grass?
A: The cheerleaders need somewhere to graze

7.Q: How many Green Bay Packers does it take to change a tire?
A: One, unless it's a blowout, in which they all show up!

Detroit was looking good against the Sea Hawks till that nail biting 42 yard field goal saved the Hawks from overtime. Looks like Detroit might be able to hang with the big boys this year if they keep it up.

Nothing to be sorry about except for the fact that I had to witness that beat down in person. They made Grossman look like he's going to the pro bowl. The Pack got whopped in every phase of the game, no two ways about it. The only bright spot was watching two loud mouth, drunk, stupid bears fans get yanked by the cops. Then one of them hit some guy in the stands and as if that wasn't dumb enough he preceded to punch one of the cops. The beat down was on. They hog tied him and dragged him along the bench for about 50 feet until they got to the steps and carried him away. He was bleeding form his chin and his pants were down around his knees. Other than those two morons the rest of the bears fans we talked to were pretty cool and we had a couple beers with some of them. Looks like its going to be another long year for Packer fans.:bawling:

The Bears definitely won't be shutting out Detroit. It's going to be a good game but
the Bears will walk away victorious. If Grossman can stay healthy and the recievers do their jobs, all will be well. And I'll be partying by the third quarter, because They'll have sewn up the game at that point.

Allright, it's Sunday and that means Football.
Bears will be squared off against the Vikings. Which will undoubtedly be a good game. The Vikings have home field advantage, and a decent QB.
It'll be tough if the Bears don't go in to the game with everything on the line.
I'm crossing my fingers for another Victory, to put us at 3 and 0.

Baseball isn't 1 tenth as exciting as Football, and it never will be.
The Bears steal this game from the Vikings in the fourth quarter and I make a cool 100 bucks.
Can the Bears go all the way this year? Do I dare dream that the team I have rooted for, for Years!! will actually do something I can say I'm proud of?
Will all the years of disappointments finally culminate into a Superbowl season?
I doubt it, but I remain highly optimistic.

All I can say is that 5 and 0 sounds great right now and the Superbowl is in our sights. I'm teary eyed right now just to see the beauty of the Bears Offense and Defense playing like a well oiled Machine.
We are for real and many people agree we're the best team out there right now, and for a good reason.

The Defense wasn't that good most of the game either. :)

I turned it off midway through the third (went and played Oblivion) my brother keep me updated.

I can take getting beat by teams... I just can't stand bad football... and Grossman was very very bad... not all his fault, Turner didn't help any abandoning the run (I'm one of those that feel that even if you are down by some points, you should still run the ball) so I guess what I'm saying is... I'll take the win and never look at it again.

Don't want to be the 49'ers, hopefully Grossman has some blood in his eyes.

Yes it was extremely painful to watch. I don't know how the team could have gone to pieces so fast? It's a shame to see Grossman keep firing the ball when obviously the passing game wasn't doing s#!t.
I was glad I stuck through it, because it was a memorable game I won't be forgetting. Hopefully they'll get their stuff together for the next showdown.

Nows that was the bears offense I now and love.:) You guys must be liv'in right cuz you were blessed tonight.

That's the Offense the made the Defense win all our Games last year.
Grossman was trying to force the ball down field by passing play after play, and the running game was put on the backburner. I think they'll learn from this and thank their lucky stars or God they won last night, and improve their game during down time.

We're rockin' the place, with the second highest 1st half point score in the Franchise History!!
Go Bears!!

The running game seems to be working well this week and Grossman looks like he got some sense back into him( even though he got off to a shaky start). There's no protection from 49er's offense, I feel embarassed for them but it'll be nice to move to 7-0. Gould is keeping his spotless field goal record this year which is nice. And Thomas Jones is moving the ball like a MOfo. Urlacher as always is just relentless. Couldn't ask for a more beautiful day.:thumbs2: :thumbs2:

Cursed!!??
I've been cursed. :banghead: First I get a flat tire on thursday and while changing it I bust off the lug bolt. Then I notice an oil leak.
Then while trying to change the flat to take the car to a close mechanic, I see the spare is flat. Then I get a broken bust of a Clonetrooper on Saturday which I paid alot of money for.
But now it's Sunday and it looks like my curse has carried onto my Favorite football team. They will more than likely loose to Miami, and after seeing them play I am actually happy they will loose for their S#!tty performance(I also think the game was fixed) Hester loosing the ball 3 times and the Defense looks like crap!!

Not the worst thing in the world to have happened.

We beat ourselves more than the Fins beat us, sorry Dolphin fans. :)

Grossman was better than in Arizona... but stupid mistakes will haunt us around playoff time.

Moose is a fraud... and I can't wait until we hopefully someday get a #1 Receiver on this team. I'm tired of him dropping ball that should be TD's.

I hear you armi ... and Grossman better start taking care of the ball a little better or the Bears will make a quick exit in the playoffs

Yeah!
I don't know what Grossman's deal is. You are supposed to get better as you gain experience not get worse. Hester was the biggest disappointment for me today. Usually I look forward to seein him in action, but today he just was giving the Dolphins the ball left and right. Plus with all the turnovers, it seemed we got a neverending run of penalties

At least it was impossible for the Jets to lose today:D
We'll get you guys in a couple of weeks:)

All in all, Giants will be tough... hopefully it will be a good game, I can take getting beat... I just can't stand beating ourselves. :)

The Bears turnovers ,lack of protection, horrible passing game, penalties and
general wanton disregard for the game itself definitely contributed to their end of victories this afternoon. They won't last against the Giants if they play
like that. I kept hoping for a turnaround but it just never came.
I think Moose is really good, but I was shocked at the amount of mistakes today. I swear it looked to me like they were trying to loose and make it look legit.

I can merely hang my head in shame and hope they'll turn this around next week. Whatta revoltin' development this was today. With any luck their beating today will solidify their mettle and in turn make them more hungry for victory.
I'm not getting any younger......I can't go another 20 some years gettin' kicked around and hope we'll make it to the Super Bowl one day.:(

Nope they wont... it was ugly but truthfully IMHO... I still feel it was much better performance than the Arizona game, despite the score. The D had no chance when the opponent scores three TD's with around 40 plus yards total. And the O has no chance when their young QB always gets rattled when some pressure is applied.

How do you feel about Grossman... I'm on the side of play him no matter what... I don't want to see the backup anytime in any situation unless Rex is hurt or we're in the Superbowl and he is having major problems, but we can still win the game. It does us (and him and the team) no good to see Griese in there while Rex is still a learning and growing QB is this league... just to try to stay undefeated. We pretty much have the division (not overall conference) wrapped up... might as well see how he handles being down in a meaningless game. So far it's not very good... but every step along the way was not going to be roses.

The way Grossman throws the ball sometimes leaves alot of room for mistakes. He just keeps firing away trying to get these big yardage plays, but
it's consistantly not working. I'd say give him some time and he'll be OK.

He definately needs to play through it ... it is the only way he will get better. He does NOT to be a Brett Favre gunslinger type QB on this team though. He needs to play within himself and learn not to force the issue too much. The Bears are a defense and run based team and that is how they will win in the playoffs

Grossman is still wet behind the ears. As far as what he's done this year (his first year playing the entire season) he's a pretty damn good rookie. Suberbowl material? Maybe not yet. But give him some time and I think he'll be a serious contender.
The Bears always institute the running game. Now we are gaining alot more yardage with Grossman passing. Sometimes he doesn't know when not to throw the ball, but he can learn that with trial and error. If the Bears don't go to the Superbowl....there's always next year.
I have to say that this year though, I have seen some great games that have renewed my hope in their accomplishments. Which is something I haven't felt in so many years.

I hear alot of doubt that the Bears are not legit. But honestly I think it's jealousy. The Jets beat the Pats last week and now the Bears beat the Jets.
I don't know how much more proof they need to provide to show they are Superbowl contenders. The game today was really bad. If it were not for 2 turnovers and a couple of good runs by Jones, I don't see how they could have won. The Defense was worn down as much as they ever were but the Jets held their own and outplayed the Bears in almost every aspect of the game.
But the final score holds the truth, and at the end of it all we are victorious.:thumbs2: :)

Dang Armi... you really take these loses hard. Here's how I look at it.

Bad game again by Rex. But he is still 9-2 and better than half the QB's in the league, and the best QB on our team.

I'm gonna say this until they do it... we need a stud WR. I'm tired of this bunch of 2's and 3's we have. How dangerous would we be with a top ten... heck a top 15 Wideout.

The coaches let me down more than Rex, they had 1:52 left and they called a skinny post to Rashied Davis... our fourth best receiver on a weak receiving group... STUPID.

The D-line has disappeared... one major key to our Defense is the D-line... and without it that will be the cause to us not making the Superbowl more than anything. If we can't pressure the opposing QB... we will be in a world of hurt.

Bad Rex has five games to get over this funk... all that matters now are the playoff games.... he can get on o roll just like Big Ben did last year... and that is all we will need.

But I guess there is going to be six other teams saying the same thing come January. :)

It's cool to see you're keeping a level head about this.:thumbs2:
What killed me was the fact that we could have beaten them easy. Just too many mistakes. Also the Pats OL gave Brady enough time to pass with no pressure......at one point I swear he went back to pass and had enough time to make a pot of coffee and knit a scarf.
We gave up vaulable field position again after again. Plus.......I think that new turf they installed was really F**ked up. You could tell it even affected their game.

1.Maybe the best QB on our team and ranked at 6 isn't bad. He just hasn't been playing like the same guy who opened this year. I think he's gun shy. I want a QB with the balls to run once in awhile.:)

2. A good WR would be a blessing.
3. That was bogus. :banghead:
4. You said it! That's what got us to the playoffs last time.

Hopefully everything will come to fruition and during the next few games we'll see a resurgence of some spirit from them and hopefully more effort. They definitely can't half @ss the rest of their games and piss all the progress away they have made this year.

TheGreyOne

You should have heard me after that last pick... no level head there. :)

The thing is... and this is how sad our QB's have been for a long time (and you know this)... Erik Kramer is the best starting QB I've seen play for the Bears in a long long long time... and that is very very sad.

For the sake of everything Football related to me... I'll take Grossman's bad games... (and 9-2 record mind you) over any piece of crap we have trotted out there for the last 16 years. Does it stink that we could have beaten a very good Patriots team in their own home... yes.

And I'm no Grossman backer... to me he is a very average QB (he could be above average in time) but the thing is average QB in this league can win Superbowls. I'll take my chances with Rex.

As for him running... you are right, he is very gun shy, but he should be also. He used to run more, remember he got hurt in Minny running for a TD, his cleat caught the turf and he torn... was it his knee, I can't remember, I know he broke his ankle against the Rams.

He better have a good game against Minny... their pass D sucks. :)

I did like Benson on Sunday though... he looked angry running... and nailed one of the Pat's DB's.

Probably the highlight of the entire game except for the near brawl. I don't know how the refs didn't penalize the Bear (I can't remember who) after he shoved the other players head into the dirt and nearly started an NBA/NHL type

Nickle Beer nite! What year was that?:D

My brother-in-law took me to my first game right after I got out of the Navy in 1972...Randy Holt was the 'Hawks enforcer...ended up with the Kings I think it was...He holds the record for most penalty minutes in a game...which will never be broken due to rule changes...I saw him whup 2 guys at the same time...He could take a punch like Tex Cobb...Not too many helments in those days either...:thumbs2:

Well, the D has been winning games, and Lovie mentioned he won't be replacing Rex at this point. And I'm not sure if he should at this point. So the question is can we go the distance w/o the benefit of having a QB who can be consistent?
It's been working so far, and it got us to the playoffs last year....so what the hell? Why not?
Rex has not shown the improvement I'd hoped for as of yet, but I still have faith he can be a good QB with more time and practice.

what works in the regular season doesn't always work in the playoffs. They might get a win despite Rex in the playoffs but he will have to step up at some point ot they will be going home. Heck, if he could just stop making mistakes they will be fine. They don't need him to do much to win games

TheGreyOne
12-04-2006, 12:15 AM
Rex has three more games to get his head on right... it doesn't even have to be the playing-out-of-his-mind Rex... just plain, simple, basic, average Rex. We've all seen him play much much better this year and it is the most baffling thing what he is doing.

Now... as you all know me (sort of) I still don't think it is all his fault... a little help from the other offensive player would be nice, like Barrian trying to knock down the second pick (heck even foul the CB might have helped) so everybody needs to play better. In the playoffs, the D will not be able to get 5 turnovers, it just won't happen. And they can't give up 200 yards up the ground either.

So, in my mind... Rex, you have three more games to get things worked out right. I'll take the Jets game any day of the week. If you don't then I want Griese in the last home game against the Pack... he shouldn't need too much time to get in the flow of things. We still should get a bye, so he will also have two weeks to get ready before the first Playoff game.

Annoying/ fun/ frustrating/ exciting... our 2006 Chicago Bears. :)

My Pats managed to have 5 turnovers and win the game for the second week in a row. Not sure what the issue is, but you can't keep winning with that stat. They need to get that under control. Fun game to be at, though.

Good luck to the Bears. Can a Pats/Bears rematch be brewing? Stay tuned.

I give Rex 2 games to get his sh!t straight. If nothing after that, we put Griese in and get him ready. The Defense can suprise you with forced turnovers which could convert to TDs, although you can't always bank on that. There's alot of pressure on Grossman, and you can see he's shaken up by it. If he just relaxed and played on instinct like he did the first few games, I think he'd be better off.
In the meanwhile the rest of the games will continue to give me high blood pressure and stress me the hell out. But it has been one hell of a year!:buttrock:

This will be a game where we need to really institute the running game. Halftime.
Grossman has improved somewhat, and even suprised us with a run of his own courtesy of Michael Vick, to get a first down. Gould blows a 37 yard field goal for his second missed kick this season. Not sure what the hell is going on there, but I hope it's not a trend.
Hester....whatta run! 94 yard return TD. That SOB is a keeper.
Jackson and Holdt are the guys to watch out for. The Rams are stopping our running game, which is aggravating, but they missed the extra point and the field goal attempt right before halftime. So maybe luck has once again shined upon us?

If Rex would have thrown for 4 TD's... then what... this way they (he) knows they have things to work on... on both Offense and Defense. They know they will get all the DB's (except Brown) back to full health (as full a health as one football player can get at this time), they know that Tait (even though he looked like garbage) is ready to go again.

Meant nothing. Let the Pack fans have their Super Bowl... yeah... I'm talken to you double B. :)

All that matters is a game in two weeks. And if both front lines stink... it don't matter what anybody else does.

So you are saying that playing like crap against two teams that aren't very good in two consecutive games going into the playoffs meant nothing? To get embarrassed at home by their biggest rival meant nothing? Do you really think it took that beat down for them (he) to know they have things to work on? TheGreyOne

Yes... those games meant nothing (except that nobody else important got hurt)... plain and rain my friend.

1. What did they have to play for these last two weeks. What... stats, momentum (the last two NFC champs lost their last regular season game), the chance to make them feel all lovie dovie inside. Nothing but health, and nobody important got hurt.

2. The last month or so they have had injuries to many people, miner injuries mind you but still injuries (I'm not saying they are any different than any other Playoff team, I'm just pointing this out because). Most of them are coming back, Vasher was hurt, Tillman was out the last two weeks, Tait just got back yesterday, Tank and his mess just got back yesterday, Todd Johnson has been missing the last few weeks. All these guys were rested during the last three weeks at various times.

I'm sorry.. these last two games meant nothing.... and I'm not a half glass full kind of person... I'm a facts person.

Am I saying the Bears have nothing to worry about... No.

Am I placing them in the Super Bowl... No.

Like I said before... IF Rex threw for four TD's against the Pack... and we won or lost the game close... and everybody was blowing kisses again for Rex... and Rex this or Rex that... Bad Rex can show up anytime... anyplace.

These last two games meant nothing... win or lose... good game or bad game... I'm sorry, your guys won a meaningless game... I thought it was funny, my brother came down from his room and thought it was funny (mind you he just got into football... and he is 19). I've seen (and you've seen) this script before... Brett kills the Bears... most times. The difference is we still have a chance... we need luck, we need the O & D-lines to play great, and most important... we need Good Rex to lead the way.

And just to answer some of your ???

Yes, this Bears team is a brash bunch... many of them needed their rears handed to them...

As for being embarrassed... its sports... this stuff happens... what do I care in a meaningless game anyway... at least it wasn't the first game of the season... :)

And yes... I won't miss Favre... he has single handily been a thorn in the Bears side for over ten years... why would I want him around anymore.

Anyway... the Playoff are here... and its a good time to be a Football fan. :buttrock:

Boerboel

TheGreyOne
01-03-2007, 01:54 AM
I don't know... but what I've read and heard was that most of those players didn't get "up" for the game... and that they seamed like they were just going through the motions for the last game of the regular season.

No matter what happens... come two weeks these last few games will have meant zero. If Rex is good they can beat anybody in the NFC, if he is bad chances are they will lose to anybody in the NFC, home field advantage or not.

They don't have a superstar on offense so they are behind five of the teams they may have to play, they are on the same level as the Eagles, IMO. And the defense has been out of whack for the last two months. If I had too pick who I'd like to see them play, boy it's tough, probably Seattle ( I don't care for their D at all), maybe the Giants (Tiki scares me though), and the Cowboys (Rome reminds me of a younger Favre... but he easily could make mistakes, their running game don't scare me though)... I'd still take Seattle... then maybe the Cowboys.

And what did I find funny... well for starters just the typical beat down by the Pack... again, it's not like we haven't seen this before (can't remember what the year was, I know it was Halloween, and raining, and Singletary was getting his number retired I think... that was a bad beat down, and in ugly jerseys). Second thing I found funny was the crown booing Rex and then Griese comes out and plays... um, how shall we say it... real bad also... that was funny to me. I was waiting for the crowd to chant for Orton. Oh, and another thing.. it was funny that our punter was the best QB for us... that was a nice pass, I guess he is like 4 of 8, or something like that in his career. :thumbs2:

Fair enough, I think several of the AFC teams would spank any of the NFC teams anyway. My picks are either the Chargers or Ravens to win it all.

Those are my 2 picks too. I don't see the Bears winning it all. Saints & Eagles scare me more than the Bears do at this point.

Hey... I'm a Bears fan, I'm obligated to root for them and hope they win it all... doesn't mean I'd put money on them.

I think they have a 50/50 chance to make the Super Bowl. Saints are the only team I personally fear.

If they made it to the Super Bowl... Chargers & Colts would be super tough. I think our D would love to play the Ravens, just two nasty defenses going at it. Pats would be tough... but we had a fighting chance with bad Rex... it would be fun. Jets and Chiefs... again, both pose different challenges but not as hard as the other four.

Yeah... I know... that is why I give them a 50/50 chance. I place them 5, 6, or 7 out of 12.

But think on the bright side... who thought the Cardinals would have won the World Series. :)

I think that next year the bears will take it but, this year the offence just isn't as consistant as it will be. I know you win championships with D, but your O can't be going backwards.

Hard to say since the Pats haven't played them this year. There's no history to base both teams' performance on. Based on their schedules though, they seem pretty evenly matched in what they put on the board against their opponents. We'll see though. Chargers have the edge because they are at home and had a week to rest.

Last time the Pats played the Chargers was last year in Foxboro and we got our @sses handed to us.

We arguably had a better receiving corp that year, but a weaker running game.

Bears/Seahawks - much better game than I expected. When the Bears drove for a touchdown on the opening possession, I knew it was not going to be the offensive yawn-fest I thought.

As I'm tying this, Seattle just scored a TD to take the lead. (24-21) Can't wait to see the finish on this one.

Seattle lost because of a few key stupid play calls trying to run the sweep on 3rd and 1 when they had been zipping it right up the middle for most of the game, and lets not forget hassleback screwed the pouch more than a few times.
